Brief Author Bio: Natalie J. Damschroder started out a single mother whose main goal was independence. After she got that worked out, she became a banker who fell in love with a stripper, then a pregnant woman left with nothing, who ALSO fell in love with a (different) stripper. Since then, she's been transported to a new dimension that she helped to save--twice--seduced her favorite actor, had zero-gravity sex on a moon station...oh, and kicked butt as a former NSA operative. And she did all of that in her jammies. What in the world could be a better job than writer? |

Synopsis: Heavy Metal
Sam Remington has been at loose ends for a while, finding little fulfillment in the work he's been doing since he lost the woman he loved to the only man worth losing her for. Then Roxie Kordek walks into his bar, a woman in need of rescue and guidance, a woman unaware of the strength of her power, sourced by the goddess of ancient times. Or of the power over his heart. (Yick. That's way too purple.)
Excerpt: Heavy Metal
Roxie sat quietly while Sam cleaned her hands and applied antibiotic ointment and bandages, then started dabbing at the various cuts and bruises on his face, wincing every time she touched him.
“It’s okay, it doesn’t hurt that bad,” he lied, trying to make her feel better. But her concern deepened.
“You’re probably wondering what happened. What you saw. Or felt.”
She sounded like she expected him to run when she explained it. He decided to save her the anxiety of working up to an explanation.
“No.”
She lowered the wet, blood-stained cloth. “You’re not?”
“Not at all.”
“How can you not be wondering?”
“Because I know what happened. What you are.”
Her eyebrows went up. “What I am?”
“You’re a goddess.”
Judging by her thunderstruck expression, he guessed she didn’t know that.
