Brief Author Bio:

Born in San Diego, CA, graduated high school this past June and am a freshman at UC Santa Barbara.

Synopsis: Ironblood

A year and a half after the finale of "Carson's Crossing," Laura leaves home for college. She knows an Ironblood would never be welcomed anywhere the fey inhabit, and is determined to stay beneath the radar of the local faerie court, no matter what. She just wants to get her degree, and get out without any trouble.

Hiding her true blood becomes impossible, though, when a knight of the Unseelie court recognizes her. Now, with the dark king of the Unseelie court gunning for her, Laura realizes that perhaps the only thing that can save her this time is the blood she was so intent on hiding.

Forget passing classes--it's all she can do to keep breathing.

Excerpt: Ironblood

I shifted, uncomfortable, and pulled my fingers up into my sleeves to keep them warm. “You take walks in the dark around here? Even with—”

“Even with all the faeries?” Carson was no Ironblood, but he still had the Sight. It was a side effect of living with the faeries for the amount of time that he did. “They might be from the Unseelie court, but they don't have any more reason to go after me than any other person out here. If they come after me, it'll just be because I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Out of the two of us, I would never have imagined I would be the cautious one. “Do you want to end up trapped in one of their games again?”

"Of course not," he said, "but I'm not going to run scared just because a different court four hours south wants my head on a stick. These guys don't have any quarrel with me."

I gave him a look, one that said he ought to know better. "They're still faeries."
