Corinne touched her chest again feeling alien. She stared into her brother’s darkly hooded eyes. “You think me a monster.”

Daniel stared but didn’t speak.

“What happened to my heart?”

Daniel didn’t speak. A howl pierced the night. They froze. Corinne whispered, “Moon babies.” Daniel pulled her to her feet. “We should get back.” Growls echoed in the darkness. Above them the clouds parted. “Oh no,” Daniel cried. Lorna, the big fat moon showed fully illuminating the grass, the manor house, the woods and ten sets of brilliant green eyes. He lifted her to her feet. “Run Corinne.”
