Synopsis: Silver Slippers
Nine-year-old Sadie accidentally reads a letter that belongs to someone else. She thinks nothing of it until the odd woman who lives next door (she always wears the same long white ball gown everyday) arrives on her doorstep in a white limousine, smiles sweetly, and says, "I think you have something of mine." With that, her chauffeur drags Sadie into the limousine. Thus begins her journey into a world she has always known in her imagination. Only this time, it's all real.
Excerpt: Silver Slippers
Dear G,
My wedding's next week and I have a big problem. I lost my shoes! You're probably rolling your eyes at me right now and saying, 'Well, just buy another pair, you silly girl!' But that's not the end of the story.
These are no ordinary shoes. They are glass slippers custom-made by none other than...the Big B (as in Bibbidy-Bobbidy-Boo). Do you know how lucky I was to have had them made in the first place? It's not easy to place an order at the Big B. They really won't let me order again at the last minute. Not to mention, Edward won't allow me to spend that much money again.
Now, I sent this via express mail and it cost me megabucks (not as much as the shoes but you know what I mean!) so you better reply to me soon. Honestly, I can't believe you don't have a cellphone! I know you want to stick to tradition and all but times are different now. Everybody has a cellphone (even Granny G. has one!).
I need my slippers in two days, at least. I have an old tome here that you might be interested in. Would that do for the payment? We're friends, anyway.
Help me, G. My soon-to-be mother-in-law's breathing down my neck. We haven't told her about the shoes (she'll get a coronary!). All this stress is making me eat a lot (my wedding gown just got a little tighter) so hurry!
Love,
Cindy
P.S.
Don't forget to attend the wedding. Your favorite witch is going to be there.
P.P.S.
Please don't tell Edward this mail cost me (well, him, I charged it on his account, haha) an arm and a leg. I'll throw in a batch of sugar bunnies I made myself if you don't.
