an excerpt
"A plane ticket?"
"Yes. It's an open undated round trip ticket - first class no less - to Beirut."
"Beirut?"
"Yes. It has something to do with the carpet and the puzzle." She pauses. Then, "Oh, and there's some traveler's checks to go with it. For expenses. I suppose you could cash in the ticket and the checks and buy some decent clothes instead. It's totally up to you."
"Where is this stuff?"
"At the lawyers. The ticket and checks are in a safety deposit box and he has the key." She fumbles in her bag again. Ned watches her rubbing his fingers over the car keys. Chloe pulls out a business card. Something falls to the ground. "Here. Here's his information. He wrote his direct line on the back. Call him. Make an appointment." Chloe backs away from Ned then crouches down to pick up whatever dropped.
Ned stands silently reading first one side then the other of the card. "That's it?"
"Yep. That's it. Isn't that enough?"
