Brief Author Bio:

I was born in New Zealand in 1986. My whole family then moved to Australia in 1991. I lived in Melbourne 2004 when I finished high school. The I moved to Ballarat (country Victoria) and studied Psychology for a year at Ballarat University. I’m not to sure why I left now. I guess I was bored and not interested in my studies although I did alright.

I then moved back to Melbourne and worked as a Personal Assistant to the CEO of a large industry superannuation firm. I enjoyed this job but I got restless. So I quit and moved to Cloncurry in Queensland to work as a Governess on a cattle property for six months. Now that was an experience! In a bad way.

Now I'm in Kalgoolrie in Western Australia working on a gold mine doing database administration. The job is easy enough but it’s boring and repetitive. I don't know what to do next but I am looking for my next adventure. I keep thinking I should go back to uni and finish my degree but going back to study is quiet nerve wracking.

Excerpt: Dominic And Emily

"Stop looking at me like that." Serena pushed Ebil playfully and spun out of his grip.
"I can't help it. Pregnancy makes you more beautiful every day." He caught her arm again and pulled her against him. His arms ran around her back and held her as flat against his chest as her pregnant belly would allow. "I love you." He whispered in her ear.
"I love you to." She kissed him softly and he quickly deepened the kiss. She brought her hands up and cupped his face. She caressed the rough stubble of growth along his chin. He pulled back briefly and looked into her eye's.
"I don't deserve you." It was barely a whisper.
"Stop it. I want to be with you. This baby wants to be with you." She smiled and kissed him again. His hands drifted down from the small of her back to line of her buttocks. One hand slipped between her thighs from behind. She arched against him and broke the kiss. Laughing she told him off. "Not here." He growled softly and planted a quick hard kiss on her lips before releasing her.
His lazy smile followed her as she stepped back and took his hand in hers. Just his presence still made her heart buzz. She loved this man. She couldn't believe she had been so lucky as to meet a man that was so different from herself and yet so right. "Let's go home."
"No objections here."
They walked forward hand in hand. With ever step they bumped against each other gently as new lovers do. Emily buzzed with every contact and walked a little quicker.
The moon was high in the sky. It cast a dull yellow light over everything. There were few people on the streets, which given the fact it was almost dawn wasn't surprising. They passed a club where several drunken patrons were just stumbling out onto the street after a night of liquor, drugs, and questionable entertainment.
They were all dressed in black with buckles, nose rings and leather making the statement they wanted. One of the women leaned heavily on her male companion and looked rather ill. Serena and Ebil walked passed she staggered towards a fence and threw up. Her boyfriend stood behind her and brushed the hair out of her face while abusing her for drinking too much.
The Goths three other friends fell into step behind Serena and Ebil as they continued down the street. Serena's grip tensed in Ebil's and she pulled him forward even faster. He gave her a quick squeeze of reassurance but he matched her pace. He didn't want her to know that he was nervous so he met her nervous glance with a smile.
He didn't know if she had seen one of the men drop down a flick knife from his sleeve as they passed. He could hear her heart beat quicken as the foot falls behind the turned from a walk into a run. Just before the men reached them he put his arm around Serena's waist and twirled her away from the street and down a small alleyway that darted down between two large brick apartment blocks.
He didn't bother glancing back he could hear that the men were still right behind them. He pulled Serena along with him. Her heavily pregnant state made it harder for her to run. Ebil could already hear her gasping for breath and they had gone just over half way down the alley.
Ebil stoped quickly and pulled the frightened woman he loved into his arms. He picked her up easily and ran with her. If he had been a normal man it would have been an impossible feat but as it was he managed to run quicker.
Just before they reach the main street Ebil grunted as pain laced through his chest. He slowed and staggered but didn't fall. Serena screamed and struggled in his arms. He stopped and put Serena back on her feet.
He turned towards the men. They stopped and spread out. They were trying to get past him but damn it he wasn't going to let that happen. He put his hand under his jacket and felt the warmth seeping through his shirt. He withdrew his hand and saw blood dripping thick on his fingers.
He allowed his fangs to drop and glared at the men. "I don't want to hurt you." He growled. He was more than a little pissed off. These thugs weren't going to get anywhere near Serena and now that he had been shot he wasn't going to let them go without making them hurt.
"Ebil." Serena's voice gave away all her anxiety. Ebil didn't need to turn to know what she felt
"Don't worry." Ebil replied before advancing on the first man. The three men took a few steps back and started to laugh. Ebil advanced slowly. These people either didn't need to be afraid of him or they were pepped up on some drug or other. The problem was as he looked into their eyes he knew they weren't drugged.
Three sets of fangs flashed in the darkness. Holy shit. These weren't just thugs they were vampires and that simple fact reduced his chances of surviving this encounter a hundred fold. Three or ten jacked up junkies he could deal with, three trained vampires were a different matter.
He didn't wait any longer he jumped forward and grabbed one of the men by the throat. As his grip tightened the vampire just smiled at him. Ebil's teeth descended to their maximum length, his peripheral vision watched the other two vampires who remained still.
"Do you have any idea who I am? I will kill you and then I will go after your families."
The taller looking vampire who had remained impassive since the start stepped forward. His face was grim but his eye's held a purpose. "Do you think we would have any interest in you if we didn't know who you were Sire?"
"We are tired of your disinterest in your post. The council has agreed you are not fit to lead while you still consort with humans."
"Who sent you?" The vampire who Ebil held off the ground by his throat was starting to look a little pale and his smile was fading.
"Come, you don't have long to live. Let's not waste time by dwelling on the past."
Ebil grabbed the dagger that was tucked into a sheath at his belt and stabbed the vampire he held in the heart. The vampire's scream as he realised he was dying sounded like a balloon which child had let go before the knot was tied. His body went limp and his skin wrinkled and turned a sickly shade of purple. He had been a young vampire who had fallen in with the wrong crowd.
"I'm surprised the council would send such young recruits after me. That was foolish, very foolish."
"Trust me we are not so ill trained as he." The vampire who hadn't spoken yet said.
"Enough." The taller Vampire said.
Serena had been silent for the whole exchange but Ebil could still sense her behind him. Her heart was pounding and her breath was shallow and quick. His heart tightened at the thought of showing her what kind of person he was. Of course she knew in theory, but that was different than seeing it in truth.
Ebil dropped the body to the ground and continued to advance of the tall Vampire. He lunged with the dagger and managed to cut a deep gash in the vampires forearm. The other Vampire ducked and made a counter strike with a short sword he had pulled from behind him.
The pain in Ebil's chest was almost gone. His body had nearly finished the healing process. The other vampire pulled out a gun and aimed it at Ebil's head. Ebil ducked and lunged towards his legs. The vampire fell to the ground as Ebil kicked his legs out from under him. The gun went off and Serena screamed and started to run towards the main road. She was screaming to help but that was quickly cut off.
Ebil grabbed the gun and thumped the vampire hand into the concrete until the gun was dropped. As the gun came out of the vampires grip pain went shooting though Ebil's skull. He blinked a couple of times to try and clear his blurred vision. He rolled onto his back and lifted the gun above his head. He fired into the air several times and the body of the tall vampire fell onto him.
The body quickly disintegrated into dust and vanished in the light night wind. That vampire had been old, very old.
"Stop." The voice sounded from where Ebil had last sensed Serena. He kept his eye's on the vampire who was still clutching his crushed hands and climbed wearily to his feet. Serena was being held by a fourth Vampire. A hand was clamped over her mouth. Her eyes were wide with fear and her body was rigid.
"Drop the gun." Ebil dropped the gun and knife. "Stand up." He stood.
"Please don't hurt her." Ebil plead.
The vampire didn't respond but he dropped his hand from her mouth. White powder covered her lips and foam was spilling from tight blue lips. She coughed and spat out the foam but more kept spilling forth.
"No!" Ebil screamed and leapt forward. The vampire seemed startled by his speed. He dropped Serena and reached for a weapon. Ebil was too quick for him. He was pinned to the ground in a second and Ebil's fangs were at his throat. They sink deep into his flesh and as he pulled back blood spurted from his throat.
With blood dripping from his mouth he turned towards the last remaining vampire who was still kneeling several meters away. With a glare the vampire stumbled to his feet and started to stumble down the alleyway. Sirens were close by. Ebil hoped they were coming for Serena.
Ebil turned towards the woman he loved. She was trembling all over. Her eye's were wide and her skin was white. He pulled her into his lap and rocked her gently. Tears ran freely down his cheeks and onto her cheek. She lifted a hand towards his face but she didn't make it. Her eye's closed and her hand dropped limply to the ground.
Ebil pulled himself to his feet, Serena was in his arms. He walked out of the alleyway and into the street beyond. A police car rounded the corner with its sirens blaring. He rushed towards the car. "She needs am ambulance." He yelled as two officers climbed out of the car. One of the men ran forward and helped him lower Serena to the ground while the other officer called for an ambulance.
It was to late. Ebil could sense Serena's life leaving her. Her breath was shallow and slow, her heart beat weak and erratic, her skin blue and clammy. He held sat next to her and held her hand as he waited for the ambulance to arrive.
