Brief Author Bio: Okay, not much to put here, so I'll just write about my noveling pursuits. I am technically an actor, but I've been writing since I was six years old. I will be participating in NaNoWriMo to help me compose a longer story than I typically write. |

Excerpt: Nocturne Twilight
She hadn’t even taken the car in her rush to get back to her old apartment. She simply ran to the train station as fast as she cold, paid her fare, and boarded.
She was on 161st street faster than she had antipicated. As soon as she was there, she exited the station and began to climb up the stairs, running up the hill and then back down to get to her destination.
It took only a minute to travel down the hill and around the corner to reach the building she sought... a fancy-looking apartment building building up the hill from a law school. She entered the building and climbed the stairs to the fifth floor.
The door of 4B was taped over with police lines, but it didn’;t matter; she had her license, they couldn’t refuse her entry.
Stepping over the tape, she explored the house. She combed every corner of the house, looking for a book like the one the younfg boy had shown her.
“Dammit... where would avampire keep theur family tree?!”
Suddenly it occurred to her... what if there was no such book? What if the boy had been lying to her? How would he even know what she was?!
“Listening to a fangmouth... what’s wrong with me?”
Muttering to herself, she was about to exit the building, but stumbled and fell over something.
“Whjat the hell--?!”
She stood up and turned to find out what had caused the accident. She had spilled the contents of a large cardboard box in the middle of the large living room.
Curious, she leafed through it’s contents. There were some small trophies, some jewelry, some papers... and a tiny blue book, the size of a postage stamp.
She quickly snatched it up, horrified at the sight of it. She had hoped fervently that it was not true... how could she now find this? She was practically devastated at this information.
Her hand shook as she held the tiny book. This couldn’t be happening... there was no way one of her parents could be a vampire...
“What are you doing in here, girl?!”
Someone had entered the apartment. She quickly turned around; there were three policemen there, all of them Glaring at her. “This area is restricted... get out of here.”
“I’m a vampire hunter... I have a right to be here.” She spoke in a determined tone, despite her shack at seeing the book. “I have a license; I’ll show it to you now.”
“There’ll be no need.” The policeman still sounded grumpy. “What do you want from here?”
“I... used to live here.” She looked straight into his eyes unwaveringly. “I’ve cone to find something I’d left behind.”
“Oh... I see.” His eyes suddenly grew cold; a familiar look that Desertra was quick to return. “Don’t kill yourself in there,” he said abruptly, and he and his partners walked away from the unit. As they left, she heard one of them mutter aloud, “Hope your worning has the reverse effect.”
She froze on the spot. She’d heard similar things said about her before; in the academy, people had often mutterd things abut her behind her back, never really seeming to care wheteher she heard or not.
She had forgotten her shock over the book. Pocketing the small object she’d half-forgotten about, she broke through the police tape and ran back to the apartment she shared with her teammates.
