Synopsis: When Skies are Gray

A continuation of Hilda van Stockum's The Borrowed House, When Skies are Gray picks up in German-occupied Paris. With the unfortunate death of her parents, Janna finds herself a ward of the Baron and singing in a cabaret for the amusement of soldiers, her countrymen. One night she is surprised by a visit from Sef. He's become even better at forging stamps and passes. The Resistance has helped him move to the city and he is in hiding with a constable named Julian. Sef is captured and taken for interrogation. Janna is able to persuade the Baron to assist her in having Sef released but at a terrible price. Janna and Sef continue to assist Julian and the Resistance but they both are forever changed.
