Brief Author Bio: Hi. I won last year, thought I'd come back for a second round. (Last year's disasterpiece, and this year's WIP, can be found at http://the-silent-lord.livejournal.com/.) I'm kind of "drifting" right now. And that about sums that up. "Remember, writers are the only people who get to sit around all day in their pajamas and play with imaginary friends." ("Writers don't make any money at all. We make about a dollar. It is terrible. But then again we don't work either. We sit around in our underwear until noon then go downstairs and make coffee, fry some eggs, read the paper, read part of a book, smell the book, wonder if perhaps we ourselves should work on our book, smell the book again, throw the book across the room because we are quite jealous that any other person wrote a book, feel terribly guilty about throwing the schmuck's book across the room because we secretly wonder if God in heaven noticed our evil jealousy, or worse, our laziness. We then lie across the couch facedown and mumble to God to forgive us because we are secretly afraid He is going to dry up all our words because we envied another man's stupid words. And for this, as I said before, we are paid a dollar. We are worth so much more.") My published book: NaNo 07: NaNo 08: |

Synopsis: Hope Springs Eternal
Hope Springs Eternal (working title only)
Her name is Tanya. She and her younger brother Brian grew up in a tiny Ozark town called Phoenix Springs. Her fiance Daniel is killed in Iraq, and she is diagnosed with cancer.
Tanya is on a mission of hope. Hope: What is it? How do we get it? What does it mean? What's the point of anything? With a credit card and a camcorder, she sets out to find the answers, in a very unique sort of documentary.
Three years after her death, Brian needs answers of his own, and leaves home to piece together his sister's story.
Excerpt: Hope Springs Eternal
Moments – hours? – later, I became aware of his stare. Even with my own eyes tightly shut, I could just see the way those dark eyes were burning into me. Or perhaps I only dreamed it. When I finally looked up, it was full dark. The moon was beginning its ascent, and Dan was gone.
