Horizons
an excerpt
The network collapsed in on itself, and, for a moment, nothing existed. And then it came back to life, growing, reshaping itself into something completely new, yet none of the information seemed to have changed. It bloomed, everything rearranging into an entity becoming organic, instead of mechanical, in nature.
Something about the program was reminiscent of the machine she had just been in contact with. It permeated her circuitry, attaching itself to every file and program, no matter how small, pulling it into a new order, yet not taking over any systems completely. All it seemed to be doing was rearranging her mind, reconstructing her brain. Every sensor told her it was a virus that had been planted, but it didn’t ‘act’ like one.
