James Moretti let a small measure of amusement and annoyance appear on his emotionless face. “It seems you came at a bad time.” He waited for Eddy to respond. When Eddy only gapped, he continued. “You see, Millie here owes my boss some money. My boss has been very generous in lending the money and even more so in waiting for a return on it.”
Everyone turned to see water pour from the layers of Morehouse’s face. Whether it was tears or sweat, no one knew for sure.
“Millie, doesn’t seem to understand the serious nature of the situation. He doesn’t seem to realize how upset my boss would be if Millie had decided that paying that money back was not a priority. Or even worse, that that money was a gift, instead of a fair deal between two businessmen.”
