Synopsis: Twist Magic

This is science fantasy. I am straddling science fiction and fantasy and gazing nervously through my legs at the chasm below. In a parallel universe, Native Canadians have evolved magical abilities due to the evolutionary pressure of asteroid bombardment. (There was never an invasion in this Canada--the Europeans are too busy contending with their own bombardments to go bug other people.) Three people scheme to end the bombardment with a huge magical spell, but such a spell requires a huge energy expenditure. So the leader sends the other two sideways in time to our earth in search of energy... a very specific sort of energy.
