Brief Author Bio: Dee Carney began writing short stories in middle school, but did not attempt completion of a novel until almost ten years later – which despite good intentions was never finished. Almost ten additional years later, she challenged herself to begin writing again and the love for storytelling was rekindled. Dee lives at home in Georgia with her husband, two dogs and a cat. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology degree, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and a Master of Science in Public Health degree. When not writing, Dee is usually curled up on the couch with a good book! |

Synopsis: Sin of the Father
Matthias Augustine can't remember the drug overdose that lands him in the hospital. He doesn't remember the rapid spiral downwards his life has taken in the last couple of months. He only knows that some illness no one else believes he has, is slowly killing him.
Charla Evers is a nurse who can't help go with her gut feeling that a recently discharged patient needs help. She seeks Matthias out, if only to point him in the right direction with social services before he ends up in her hospital's ER again.
When he stumbles across a family secret which proves Matthias's mother isn't who she says she is and certain people know more about his father than they're willing to tell, he convinces the kind-hearted nurse to help him find true source of his suffering, which is genetic in origin. Their search will take them literally to the gate between heaven and Hell. Matthias and Charla must uncover all of his family's secrets or lose a growing love and his life in exchange.
