Synopsis: Scented (WT)
Loreleia; Lori (call me Leia if you want to get bitten) wanted more than anything to be who she thought she should have been... if the incident had never happened. So while pretending that's its a simple as making a choice, she slips out of The Compound, to catch a late night show of 'Werewolf of London' at the theater in the next town over. On her way home, she runs into Christian, who is so normal it's nearly impossible to believe, and Lori comes up with a better plan of make believe. One that' will to suck Christian from his oh-so-normal world, into the lives of The Compound, where people have more than one face, and every so often, can't help but howl.
YA novel.

Excerpt: Scented (WT)
The Compound was hardly a fortress. No one tried to get in, and for the most part, no one tried to get out. Which right now, was working heavily in my favour. Despite the fact that no one was watching out for us to be on the move, we were sneaking. Although everyone was already in bed, there was a chance that someone might be up walking… and if we got caught… there wouldn’t be so much trouble as complete cessation of fun.
And I wanted fun.
Abby giggled, and I glared over at her through the dark, and she immediately shut up. Beside her, Paul rolled his eyes, and readjusted against the bumper of the jeep.
Slowly, it inched across the path, with the five of us… well, the four of them, pushing it so we were farther enough away before I started the engine. I was bent over, shoulder to the car, same as everyone, but I was only making a show of it, and everyone knew that. It didn’t matter much anyway, Jake could have pushed the thing by himself. And considered I was sure Paul was putting as much into the effort as I was, Jake half was.
Finally we reached a point where I felt like we would be okay, and I stood up, elaborately stretching out my arms, as if it had been brutal. Abby stood up right away, Paul stopped faking it, and Tim stopped to grin in excitement. Jake moved the jeep another two feet before he noticed there was no one beside him.
I pulled the keys from my pocket and held them up, jangling them lightly for effect. “Engine time.”
“Shotgun!” Abby dashed for the drivers side down, but Paul was already there, had been since the minute he let go of the bumper, and she backed down when he shot her a scathing look for even trying.
I hoped into the drivers seat, and shut the door carefully. Behind me, Jake let Tim slide to the middle, and slammed the door behind him. Abby climbed in beside Tim, and winced sympathetically towards the review mirror.
Not even a half second after the everyone was inside, Paul had already started tapping his foot impatiently. “Now or never, Leia.”
