My Year as a Sugar Baby
an excerpt
She had the right connections. I think it was also because we both were wearing short dresses like every other girl in line. I didn’t want to wear it but Jamie talked me into it. She said “You have great assets Missy, you need to show them off” So I did. Once we were in there it was so hard to talk to anyone but we didn’t care. We were being fed drinks by any guy that would buy them for us. Around midnight I needed some area and stepped outside to get air. When I stepped out back, I thought I had seen him, my Prince Charming, at least for the night. He had short brown hair and from what I could tell was a little bit of a metro sexual. You could tell he cared about his looks. He smiled over my way and I smiled back. Soon he came walking over and introduced himself.
“Hi my name is Andrew”
“Hi Andrew”
And then it was silent, a little awkward but he kept smiling at me. Soon we were talking and our bodies were getting closer. We walked back into the club and the DJ was spinning Pussycat Dolls. It was the perfect seduction song. Okay not perfect as it talks about a guy who basically has two girlfriends. But you have to admit it has good beats. And even if this guy did have a girlfriend he was not admitting to it tonight.
“Last Call”
Neither one of us wanted to leave the other but it was that time of the night. His buddies came over and said there was an after party at their place. Jamie had been invited as well since she was hanging out with Andrew’s friend, Jason. The four us took a cab back to the guy’s house. It was one of those in the Hills. It wasn’t one of the biggest up there but it was nice. Andrew told me later there was six of them living there so it made the rent a little cheaper. Andrew and I started talking and eventually moved things into the bedroom. He started by taking my dress off and kissing my body. It felt great to have a man’s lips on me. It had been a few months and I thought I forgot what to do. But it is like they say, Just like riding a bike, you never forget. Okay maybe they don’t say that about sex, but you could.
When he finally slid inside of me I remembered everything. We ended up spending the night together. But at 7am, Jamie came busting in saying we needed to go. We called a cab. I wasn’t sure what was going on but knew I had to be there for my friend. While we waited for the cab Andrew sat with us. He said he had a great time, would call me and gave me a kiss. Oh yes I could kiss that man again for a whole night.
In the cab I asked Jamie what was going on.
“Jamie what happened back there”
“Nothing”
“No seriously what is going on”
“Well you know I was hanging out with that guy Jason right?
“Yes”
“And everything was cool. I was hanging out with him and some of the other guys. Nothing was going on.”
“Okay”
“Then things started happening between me and Jason and…”
“And… what? This is getting to be a long story”
“I think they have cameras in their house”
“WHAT?? How do you know?”
“I am not sure but I thought I heard some of the guys in the other room cheering us on. I think they were also watching you and Andrew”
“What?”
“When I asked Jason if he heard anything he said “No don’t worry about it baby. But I kept hearing voices. So I got up and he came after me. I opened the door to the room the other guys were in and sure enough, it was all on screen.”
“Are you kidding me?”
“I wish I was, though I must say Andrew is hot even under his clothes”
“Thanks”
“I’m sorry I ruined your night”
“Jamie you didn’t those guys did. It is all a game to them. Lets just hope this doesn’t land on the internet.”
“Yeah though with those guys you never know.”
Two days later Andrew did call. He acted like everything is cool He had to know that Jamie found out and would have most likely told me.
“Hey Missy I had a great time the other night.”
“Me too”
“We should do it again sometime”
“Um I don’t really think so”
“But you just said you had a great time”
“And I did but when I found out your friends like to watch you having sex from the other room, it sort of ruined it for me”
“They weren’t watching us they were watching Jamie and Jason”
“Yeah I don’t think so. Jamie told me she saw everything. She does think you have a nice body though”
“Do you think she would have sex with me?”
“You really are a pig”
“I was just kidding. I am sorry it wasn’t funny”
“Not it wasn’t”
“I really do want to see you again. I promise I won’t let that happen again and I did trash the tape from the other night.”
“Thanks but please lose my number”
Two days later the guy was at the restaurant with roses trying to apologize. The minute he walked in the door Jamie was shooting him the nasty stare. Andrew knew he was up shit creek but he still tried to make it up to me.
“Missy I am sorry, here” He handed me the roses like I was just supposed to accept them and forget about the other night.
“Andrew you really need to leave. I don’t want to see or talk to you again. Lets just say what it really was, a messed up one night stand and move on.”
He was starting to get violent. He grabbed my arm and insisted on talking to me. I walked outside with him and told him he had to leave.
When we were outside this slightly attractive older man was walking toward the restaurant and caught my eye.
I told Andrew he needed to leave before my boss called the cops and had him escorted out. He did leave but said he would be back.
I walked back in and I think Jamie’s chin was on the ground. She looked over at me mouthing “Do you see that guy?”
“Yeah” I looked over and he was sitting in my section. Jamie was only slightly jealous.
“Lucky”
That was a few weeks ago.
Now it is New Years Day. A day I didn’t enjoy last year and would probably not enjoy this year either. But I had to admit the money from last night and today basically paid the rent and also gave me extra to treat myself to a cute outfit. Jamie and I were going to go shopping tomorrow with some of our temporary wealth. It was a great way to make ourselves feel like we belonged here. Even though sometimes we didn’t feel it.
He wasn’t like the guys that usually come in to watch Football. He was in black dress pants and a button down shirt. He could be a business man possibly in the Entertainment Industry but I wasn’t sure.
He was there with a couple of friends or so I assumed. They were probably the nicest guys in the restaurant that day. Every time I walked over the man smiled at me. He reminded me Pierce Bronson.
I started to notice him every Sunday. Soon he was smiling at me every time he walked in the door. Him and his friends would request to sit in my section. They made Football Sunday go by a little faster. Soon I knew their first names and they knew mine.
“Missy we need another pitcher over here”
“Here you go Ellis.”
Soon Ellis was coming in by himself for Happy Hour. I had started bartending at the restaurant during the week and he would sit at the bar and we would just talk. Jamie teased me once that this guy was in love with me. I told her I didn’t have feelings for him he was just interesting to talk to. I can have an intelligent conversation with a man and he doesn’t want to sleep with me.
I had found out that he is originally from Australia where he is a where he is well-known real estate broker. He came to LA to open an office here and check out the properties. He told me he would be out here for about a year.
Eventually we formed a friendship. One that was based on respect. He started saying things like “You deserve better” and “You will be a star”
He was right I did deserve better but as far as being a star I think he had too many drinks in him when he was saying that. I got to thinking about one afternoon after work. I was sitting on the couch and Dr. Phil came on. That was the joys of bartending during the day I could come home and watch my favorite doctor. Some of the shows were a little much kids disowning their parents, parents wondering why their kids were on drugs and neighborhoods against each other. But the underlying message was always good. Today the segment was about women who are either married or single looking for men to take care of them financially, giving them something they are not getting anywhere else. These women were getting gifts such as jewelry, clothing, trips, and cars. The men would also give them a monthly allowance as well. It started to peak my interest, dating a man for money. This would help my financial situation and who knows maybe I would meet someone interesting.
