Synopsis: "THE SNORING" (working title)
Okay, it's looking like it's going to be a homage to the 70s and early 80s horror novels, and so an opportunity to have some fun and even perhaps dust a sprinkling of tongue-in-cheek/gallows humour sugar over the nastiness to help sweeten the bitter pill of blood and gore. well, that could be a welcome antidote to the inevitable nasty scenes that simply have to be included... but sparingly in this case...
Anyway...
No synopsis at all. Quite literally making it up as I go along, which is more or less how I wrote my 2007 winner (didn't do iNaNo last year), although I did cram as much autobiographic reference as possible into that one, so if anything it was probably easier. With this one I need to devise completely fresh material, plots and character.
The only premise I do have to work from is based on a factual occurence close to where I live. I thought it quite interesting, and it is quite simply thus:
"New Pizza Parlour built on the exact same ground that was previously the site of an undertakers for many many years..."
I found this quite distateful.. and then my imagination started to kick in... Not sure if I can sustain this for a complete novel - it's more a short story premise, but - hey - NaNo is about waffling, isn't it, so I'll just try and pad it out...! ;-)
OF course, if there's no mileage in that idea, I may yet totally scrap it and start afresh... though very unlikely.... We'll see...
