Hidden Truth

The dark sun beat down on my bone white skin. I could feel its presence pounding down on my head, filling the air with its radiation. All around me there is the evidence of destruction: dying trees, rotting corpses. I can feel those left living around me. Milling about on the ground so as not to draw attention to them selves. But no matter how still the are, no matter how much they try not to breathe or let their feeble hearts beat I know that they are there. Barely hanging on to the life force that is slowly being drained out of their bodies.
