Excerpt: Three Minus Perfect
Now James was dead. All of his friends were dead. His cause was dead. The Holiday Soldiers had still found him. The Holiday Soldiers had still killed him. His whole life had been worthless—just one big hideaway, one big search for something that didn’t even exist.
But in his day, James had been great. And among his people, he had been recognized for it. Even among King Cundan’s men, he had been recognized. That was why he was dead now.
