Synopsis: The Five Stages of Kidnapping Corzir

Corzir L'apaneau Devion was just a normal boy... until he gets taken by rebels while on work experience and held for a prisoner exchange, and then they get attacked by slave traders, who sell him to the northern reaches, and he manages to escape only to be recaptured in another country and put to work in the royal castle.

But that's not the end of his troubles. After being freed, he somehow winds up in the southern deserts and has to face down powerful mythical forces. Even when he gets home, problems follow, as he discovers his little brother has become the figurehead of a rebel cult at war with the government. Now he has to decide which side he's on... and whether it will even matter.
