Synopsis: Finding Pompeii

History class is such a bore, and Emma Prince can give you the entire lowdown on that: The class sucks. Well, it does until she finds a piece of history herself. The book is ancient, and the mysterious boy who walks up to her says it's thousands of years old. Emma soon finds out the hard way that only the mysterious boy Richard and she can read the ancient tome; and the writing in the book is the exact same wording as the fantasy novel she's started writing.

To answer some of her questions, Richard takes her through the book into a world of ancient times: Pompeii, only days before its destruction. Emma finds herself trapped in a mission to save the ancient city's hidden treasure before the furtive archaeologists of her time steal it for their own gain. Can Emma protect the treasure before Pompeii is destroyed? Or will the thieves steal if for themselves? Will Emma be able to return home and never think about this again? Or is she really as important as Richard makes her out to be?
