Favorite writers: I know this is where I'm supposed to wax poetic (novelic?) about favorite authors -- but can I say I'm hoping that the writers I meet on this particular novel experience may be the ones who get that title? I've read thousands of books in my lifetime (some great, many good, more than a few who needed more editing, and some who where the rapier wit was wielded with the finesse of a chain saw). Sometimes it's the story that transports me, sometimes it's the painterly language that strokes words of color into a picture that fascinates. My goal is to learn by doing... and see if I've really got what it takes to put my own slice of "pie-in-the-cerulean-sky" onto the virtual menu of the literary coffee shop.

Favorite music: CLASSICAL (Mozart, Bach, Coplan, Orff's 'Carmina Burana' on occasion), SINGER-SONGWRITER (James Taylor, The Boss, Paul Simon, Carly Simon), CAJUN (instrumental and vocals, though my toe-tapping slows down the typing)
