Brief Author Bio:

I'm just an old lady who likes to write! I have a partially finished novel which I can't enter (or I'll be killed!;), so it will be fun to see if I can pull myself out of that world and work on something else for a month. I live in the mountains of California - where it is beautiful and squirrels run across the roof!

Synopsis: The True Love Test

Amy Lezik decided that romantic love was a fairy tale her senior year in high school when she discovered her "true love" with her friend in his car. This November, that belief will be tested again and again as she comes to terms with what love really means.

Excerpt: The True Love Test

She unlocked the door and climbed into her tee shirt covered seat. She felt lucky that she had lived in Sea Breeze all her life; she wouldn’t need to think really hard about getting home. She pulled out of the driveway, turning left on Benson and then quickly right on Indian. Just as she turned, the wheel twisted sharply in her hands. “Man, I am tired,” she shook herself. She normally only talked out loud to herself when she was really tired or overly emotional. Then the wheel twisted again and she realized the car was not responding well. She pulled over and got out. Everything looked good from where she was. She crossed in front of the car and looked at the other side. Her back tire was burst. Looking back, she could see shreds of it all the way to the corner. “Ahhhh!” she yelled at the sky. Unlocking the passenger door, she grabbed her purse and dug out her cell phone. Flipping it open, she started to dial Seth before she realized they wouldn’t be home yet.
“Dang!” She stood on the sidewalk and tried to decide who to actually call. Then she realized she should just call AAA. She flipped her phone open again as she searched through her cards for the AAA card, then started dialing the number on the back.
Nothing happened. She looked at the phone and realized the battery was completely dead. She went back to pounding her head on the top of the car. Could this day get any worse?
“Hey, could you use some help?”
Apparently it can! Her toes curled up in her shoes. That was Pax’s voice, she was sure. She looked up at the blond-haired guitar player.
