Brief Author Bio:

Well, this year I'll try to do NaNo again, hopefully with better results than last year. At least I got a story off the ground. XP

Anyway, this year's story is a plot that I adopted from the forums. An Autobiography of an Imaginary Friend. You think that's fun, just wait until you read it!

Things are very limited right now for the story, since I want to keep it open for whatever seems to fit best. I have a feeling like this story will just write itself.

Synopsis: Impressions of an Imaginary Friend: Growing Up

Let me tell you this story. This is my story, one all too similar to those like me. Those of us who are willing to hear every word from a child. Those of us who are there waiting to play with a child any time of the day or night. Those of us who are created by a child’s mind. Those of us who are imaginary friends.

My story is one that I have recorded over the years. Years of wonder and joy. Years of doubt and grief. It is all written here, a diary of my child’s life told through my life. All of it is true, every word. Read carefully and learn the true life of a “pretend friend.”

Excerpt: Impressions of an Imaginary Friend: Growing Up

October 14, 1978
Today is Bobby’s 4th birthday and the most amazing thing happened today:

I was made!

Bobby got a book from his mommy and daddy today. It had a little boy in it who had a ‘pretend friend.’ This boy had many adventures, keeping his pretend friend by his side through all of the good times and the bad. The boy even looked like Bobby! Brown hair and blue eyes. Bobby thought it would be fun to have a pretend friend like the little boy in the book.

And here I am! He thought me up with his little mind!

Bobby named me Tommy. TOMMY, after the little boy in the book! Bobby told me that I was real enough that I had to have the boy’s name and not the name of the boy’s pretend friend, who was named Larry. TOMMY! Such a wonderful name! And it was given to me by my human boy! I’m so excited! My very first day created and Bobby gave me a name! I’m so lucky to be Bobby’s pretend friend! TOMMY!!

I got to watch Bobby go to sleep that night. Bobby was given the book after something called “dinner” and then Bobby’s mommy read it to him before going to bed. Bobby’s room is filled with toys. Toy cars, rocket ships, marbles, checkers, and many more littered the floors, overflowed from his toy chest, and burst from his closet. He had so many toys, I’m a little worried that he won’t play with me as much as I would like. I really shouldn’t worry, since I’m only watching him sleep, but I am. I doubt that there’ll be any problem, since none of those toys can talk like I can! And maybe Bobby will let me play with them with him! That would be so much fun for him to have a person to play with, without having to meet up with another boy. We could play forever!
