Synopsis: Story of a Girl

This is a story about a girl who grows up. Emmeline Carter is an average, no fuss girl. She gets good grades, has nice friends, kind parents, and an extreme love for music. She tries out for her school's musical talents program and make sit. Emm thinks that this will be like the other performances she's given for her music. Goes to rehearsals, plays her music well, goes home, and then performes and leaves all her temporary friends behind. However, this is not like anything she's ever had before. She's got real friends that she wants to keep when the curtain goes down. As events unfold, Emm has to face the facts that one of her new friends isn't who he says he is and may turn into something no one ever expected. But that's just the beginning of a long rollar coaster ride that Emmeline cannot escape from. Along for the ride with her is a rape victim, a cutter, a mother with a child overseas, a cynical lesbian, a bouncy piano player, a cat loving level headed student, a boy crazy friend, and the best friend anyone could ever ask for that is there for Emmeline every step of the way. But things are never as they seem and so Emmeline will need more than just her friends to make it through to the end of her journey.
