Synopsis:
The fate of the small wood-elven colony in the deep woods of Argorien seems sealed as the giant alien motherships rain fire and destruction from the skies. A lone aspiring archer, Gnaolas, is the last line of defense of the colony against the alien threat. Having just been awarded a bronze medal in the junior dwarf shooting tournament, he prepares himself for a fight to the death as an even more terrifying menace emerges from the lost city of Hmpf'yleh, 30.000 kilometres below the sea. Meanwhile, in New York...

Excerpt:
Diamond pressed her back against the wall she had just climbed over. The stranger who had been following her was nowhere to be seen. Hurriedly, she activated her wristcom and initiated a proximity scan. No life signs within at least ten metres. She was safe. Either she had managed to lose her pursuer, or he had given up. At any rate, he was not close enough to see her slip into the sewers through one of the countless public toilets of New Hong Kong. As she closed the entrance above her, Diamond reduced the amount of adrenaline her body was producing and injected a mild tranquiliser. She needed to be calm and think logically. The stranger's appearance had caught her by surprise during a meeting with a long-term client whom she would have trusted with her life. How did he find her? And, much more important, why did he want to find her? She had been lying low after the New York fiasco, and to the best of her knowledge had not been involved in any business concerning any of the three megacorporations that ruled New Hong Kong. The last three years had been uncharacteristically uneventful, and she hadn't recognised any signs of her former enemies, or worse, her former friends having followed her to her new home. In fact, most of them were dead, and she didn't consider the remaining two a threat.
