Favorite novels: The Three Musketeers: a book that's so good that it's just wrong; The Queen of The South: a post-modern look at the classic Count of Monte Cristo; The Penolopiad: another fresh look at a classic text, this time Homer's Oddysey, told from his estranged wife's viewpoint.

Favorite writers: Arturo Perez Reverte(!), Alexandre Dumas, Timothy Zahn, George MacDonald Fraser. All interesting people, writing interesting books.

Favorite music: It's still Marbles. From the melancholic post-rock whimpers to the soaring electronic ballads, it's one of the finest albums I've ever heard. And that's saying a lot, these days.

Non-noveling interests: RPGs; silly card games; music; swordfighting; drawing and painting; photography; science; philosophy; &c., &c., &c.
