Synopsis:

Post-cyberpunk ("nowpunk") based on mostly-current network security technology with slight advances and significant political developments in the US. The protagonist immigrated illegally to the US as a small child with his parents and feels caught between the nation and culture of which he sees himself as a part and the rejection he feels due to his inability to get a job or education.
