Excerpt: Make A Wish
Tasha sat and watched the two playing around in the water like puppies. She smiled at the sight. Right now, in the darkness, this world seemed terrifying, but there was something wonderful about it. All of it was pure and natural. There were no skyscrapers, noisy cars, or piles of litter. There was a definite beauty in a world that humans had no business being in.
“Orion, where are you?” She whispered the words to herself, though she knew there would be no answer to her question. Here’s here, somewhere. And I will find him.
Her eyes lifted to the sky as she looked at the stars. One specific one seemed to sparkle brighter than the first. She knew that star. “You're the one that got me into this position in the first place,” she teased to it. “I will win, though. Just you watch.”
