Synopsis: Incognito
Like a hungry tiger pacing its cage, impatient to escape and destroy its next victim, epilepsy grabbed Annie at age twelve. The beast took custody of her, relentlessly and repeatedly unleashing its strength. How does Annie cope with the angry savage that seeks to strike at any time?
A seizure, absolute in strategy,
insists its unpredictability.
Excerpt: Incognito
Yes, twenty years had passed without a seizure. Annie woke up one Saturday morning with that ugly, familiar feeling, the sensation of thieves lurking in her head, thieves laughing because they knew they would prevail again. Unable to articulate it to David, she would be ransacked by something sinister approaching with noiseless but stealthy steps.
"Honey, are you all right?"
"Yeah, fine...you, well, fine...can...fine..."
She couldn't concentrate long enough to utter a coherent sentence.
