Excerpt: The Black Hearse Murders

This was the lost town, the town that had been lost by time, forgotten by the rest of the world, faded from the history books- those cold, unfeeling pages of time. This was the town that everyone had forgotten, the town that everyone wished that they could forget. Anyone who had come here had been fed half-truths and had gone on their way, never really knowing. This was the place where it was always cold, where it was always night. In this land, the dead lived and living were dead. In this land, logic ceased to exist, and there was only stillness and revenge. Hate filled the air, hate and death. The dead had been buried long ago, but they had never really gone away. They were there, in the decaying walls, in the rotting pages of a book, in the creak of a door.
