Synopsis: The Complete Unfinished Adventures of Mad Charles as Told by Rafe Tovarinsky
My NaNo revolves around Elaine Erro, an American exchange student who finds a hundred year-old manuscript and an arcane time travel device in a collapsed tunnel in London. The manuscript depicts the adventures of a vigilante named Mad Charles in Victorian London as written by his boy sidekick, Rafe. Upon closer examination the student finds the boy is being abused by his mentor and eventually murdered. When Elaine uses the time travel device to save Rafe, her present becomes altered - and gets progressively worse each trip she takes into the past. Must the boy die to save the present?
