Synopsis: The Crystal Warren
part literary fiction, part fantasy, part children's book
Interlinked short stories featuring a writer living in Grahamstown. Ensemble cast of her friends, colleagues, acquaintances etc. Each story can be read independently but will also reveal more about characters who appear in other stories.
She is writing a fantasy for children, which I will also write. Not too clear on the details but it does involve a child discovering a gateway to a hidden world parrallel to the one we know (again, not sure if parrallel world, or just underground, hidden world were the magical type creatures have taken refuge from humanity)
In theory the two stories will intersect, with real life events showing up in the fantasy. And the fantasy characters might sneak out and start affecting the real world. Or resist the story being written. So possibly a third strand to the narrative.
