Synopsis: That Was Then
The good, the bad and the ugly, in different time frames... past lives, parallel lives, forgotten lives, and remembered lives of one person's soul.
Excerpt: That Was Then
Daisy arrived in New York City on a ship working as a maid for a rich family. Upon their arrival, the family put her in a private car for the trip out west. The owners of the car abandoned her in West Virginia and took the money.
It was there that we found her, standing right outside the gate to our small farm.
Daisy was a slight girl, with golden curls and blue green eyes and I was smitten immediately. Pa took her in, never turning anyone way. She was shy, never looking at Pa directly, but always polite and calling him sir.
She had a slight Irish lilt to her voice, having just spent some time in Ireland with her grandparents and cousins. She was just 14 and I was surprised at to how protective I felt about her.
