Emails/NaNoMail
I am getting a ton of emails in my inbox! How do I stop them?
What is NaNoMail?
Everyone participating in NaNoWriMo gets a little mini-email program built into their user account. It’s called “NaNoMail,” and it allows you to send private messages to other participants without having to know their actual email address. You’ll see a “Check and Send NaNoMail” link under “My NaNoWriMo” on the menu bar.
NaNoMail is turned on by default. To make it so participants can’t send you NaNoMail, just sign in, then head to My NaNoWriMo–>Edit User Settings and uncheck the box marked “Allow Private Messages.”
Remember, if you’ve unchecked that box and send a participant a NaNoMail, they will not be able to reply to you.

First, let us apologize! We do our best not to spam your inbox, or send you any emails that you don’t want to receive. To manage your notifications:
- Click “My NaNoWriMo” in the menu bar after you’ve signed in.
- Click “Manage Notifications” in the column on the left hand side.
- Customize your notification settings, OR click on the “Unsubscribe from all” button at the very bottom of that page.
