Have a character planning for a zombie apocalypse.
BP: If the zombie apocalypse never happens.
DBP: If the plan turns out to be vital to something else.
TBP: If the zombie apocalypse happens after that.
QBP:..but not in the way the character anticipated.

My story has the monsters of human imagination coming to life based upon a spell cast by an Elven Mage. So over hearing a plot for a Zombie apocalypse, preparing for it and having another group of monsters attack instead would work perfectly.

Don't have one to leave right now but I usually think of something before Nano is over.
