Have a boring character make up a bad joke.
BP: have that character crack him/herself up whenever he hears it
DBP: have the character tell it multiple times, to whoever will listen.
TBP: have the character tell it in the middle of the climatic scene
4BP: have the character get it wrong and start cursing in the climatic scene
Taking, thanks! Though, of course, now I have to make up a bad joke, which I haven't the faintest idea of how to do because I've never actually made up my own joke, but I will manage!

So, this guy, he walks into a bar right? Uh,.. He says OW! HAHAHA! Get it? Ow, like, ouch. See, the bar, was not an establishment where alcohol is served but literally a pole that is horizontally placed. Hehe, bar.
