30 Covers, 30 Days 2011: Day 10
It’s already been 10 full days of writing wonder, and 10 full days of designer goodness. How are you all holding up? Today’s cover is from the prolific and paramount Tal Goretsky:
A Maddening Science by Vega
Bullets fired into a crowd. Screaming. Blood. Police sirens in the distance, coming closer, making me cringe against old memories. Making me skulk into the shadows, hunch down in my hoodie. The last place I want to be is the centre of attention for the cops again. I sink back into the fabric, shying from the broad helicopter searchlights. But there are people bleeding into the gutter. Children screaming. Women crying. Men crying, too, not that any of them would admit it. The scent of gun powder, rotting garbage, vomit, and misery.
If this had been before, I might have leapt into action with one of my trusty gizmos. Or, failing that, at least with a witty verbal assault that would have left the moron too brain-befuddled to resist when I punched him in the esophagus.
But this isn’t before. This is after, and I am a supervillain no more.
… Let me tell you about before.

Wow, I the cover's really cool, but I really like the synopsis. The writing is incredible.

My goodnes! Tim and Tal, I am in AWE.
Thank you so much for an incredible cover. I love the refractions and mirrors, the subtle play of light, and the way that the whole cover comes down to a very narrow focus. Oliver, my protagonist, is similar - he thinks in quite focussed phrases, and this is an amazing representation of the prose.
This is a fantastic treat and I thank you so much for this.
(And for those commenting that they'd like to see this book in print... keeping your fingers crossed!)

I love the cover, although truthfully it was a tad hard for me to find the title on it :P The synopsis is amazing, though!

This better get published. With this cover. The writing is awesome, and I absolutely love the cover created for it! The synopsis is so cool and really intrigues me. I wanna see it on a shelf!

(Yes, replying to my own comment) Just read the author's bio and thought it was really cool she's already had a couple NaNo novels published/going to be published. Got even more excited upon realizing there was a likely chance of JM Frey's novel being on the shelves some day. Good luck with the rest of the writing for this month, JM Frey!

Thank you very much! I will happily take all the luck I can get - not too far behind in the word count but, egads, where did November go?! I would like to see this one on the shelves one day myself, too.
