Happy Monday! I hope you had incredibly productive weekends--Paige, our intern of the highest caliber, had an 11K day! Today's cover, set to inspire and amaze, comes from Jesse Marinoff Reyes:
After the third world war (also known as WWW, the Women's World War), society is run by females. All surviving men are imprisoned in different facilities, or work as slaves in factories. The most troublesome men are sent to a place called The Institute, where unspeakable things are done to them, after which the men are never seen again.
But Cassandra Grayson has secretly been in contact with her father for years, and she's not happy with the ways things seem for him. When all messages from her father cease suddenly and she comes across a boy who proposes an interesting proposition, Cassandra must make a hard choice; perhaps one that could mean life or death for many people, including herself. Can she overcome a world where the best and worst sides of women, the sweet and the ruthless reign, or will she settle into complacency?

I don't think you quite know what feminism means. Feminism is the belief that both sexes should be treated equally in all cases...this synopsis points to a future dystopia unusually run by women. Not exactly equality of the sexes, is it? Or do you believe all feminists are men haters?
That's crazy - the synopsis sounds very similar to an idea that I was talking to my friend about at work one day. I think the cover conveys the gist of the synopsis perfectly. I like this and it seems like something I would definitely read :3
Hmm...I'm not sure the cover particularly draws me in, but maybe it does. It certainly goes well with the synopsis. I'd definitely read it though. It's an interesting concept.
I don't know if I'm totally sold on comic-book style for something that seems to be so dark in tone. Then again, I don't know if I totally buy the premise of the book, either. It seems a little too ... didactic.

I want to read this book so bad! Feminist at it's worst (or best, depending on how feminist you are, lol)! I wish this was a published book!

Re: 30 Covers, 30 Days 2011: Day 14
Agreed. I don't know a single feminist who would ever aspire to a world like this.

I like the synopsis and would definitely pick this book up! My only reserve on the cover is the font of the title. Otherwise it's quite cool!

Re: 30 Covers, 30 Days 2011: Day 14
Cover doesn't grab me, but the synopsis does!!!! If the world my book exists in went horribly wrong, it would be this world.

I believe that the cover really emphasizes the synopsis. It was intriguing.
