29-year-old Rita has long admired Matthew, the bike messenger who picks up her envelopes at the office to courier them to downtown courthouses. But one day Matthew arrives solemn and concerned. She asks him a question that will carry her into the heart of his strange life, and in the days that follow, into a strange universe filled with muses and half-humans in the middle of a war, for which Matthew is of the utmost importance.
Rita has to decide if she will stay with Matthew and risk becoming a part of this universe in which her human breath is valued for the power it contains to bring things to life, or turn away from the battle with the elements in this realm that are slowly taking over her mind.

I would put this on the top of my to-be-read pile! I absolutely love the synopsis, and the cover is fantastic as well. I hope the author finishes and gets this published.
i absolutely love this! this is one of my top faves from this years Nano covers!!! fantastic story and fantastic cover! i would so read this! (and would HAVE to pick up the book if i saw it in the store!)
I'm kind of with Lady_Indis on this, but for different reasons.
The cover is very precise. Very anatomical. Very analytical. The synopsis is mysterious, moody, and emotional.
The cover is cold, while the synopsis is warm.
The cover says "literary," while the synopsis says "fantasy."
It's a nice piece of illustration in and of itself, and I get the obvious connection between the image and the story, but I can't say it fits the feel of the book at all.
Oh wow! How do people get all of these great ideas? I love the synopsis but I'm not too keen on the cover. If this author would get this book published I would definitely read it based on the synopsis.
I definitely do not like the trachea on this cover.
Is Brandi Brandewie the author? And, if so, why is she connected to the lungs? I would have put Rita's there, not joined the title to the trachea, and put the author's name under the title.
I like the synopsis and would be interested in reading the novel, but as the cover looks medical I'd probably not pick it up.
"Matthew" seems like a really random thing to have added to the cover. I would have expected "A novel" or something.
I understand it's part of the synopsis...but still. Fixing up the Anatomy Textbook look by announcing it's a novel, not actually non-fiction/medical text might have helped.
That's me! I was so excited when I found this on the site I could hardly sleep. =) What an awesome way to start the week. I think the cover is SO COOL and will do my best to make sure the final draft of this novel (my first!) is on par with it.
Very nice cover, and a pretty interesting synopsis. I'm not sure if I'd read it, but that's more because the genre isn't really one I read often rather than any actual flaw.

I don't really like this cover. I would pass it by, which is a shame because the synopsis is good.
Re: 30 Covers, 30 Days 2011: Day 27
I love the cover (anatomy student here!!) :)
But the synopsis is vague and rather boring. Sorry.

I personally love the cover :) Though the synopsis... I think it lacks information, so it doesn't draw me in.

Oooh! Creepy and awesome cover!
The synopsis is pretty eerie, I think.
