You see a plane crash ahead of you and although you know it was really close you can't be affected by it physically, but neither can you help

You're at a party/at the mall/some other crowded place, and you're trying to find your friend. After a while, you realize someone is following you. You try to ignore this person, but they don't go away. You see someone who looks like your friend, but when you get closer it's actually the person who's been following you. This keeps happening. Soon, you're lost and you can't find anyone to help you because the stalker is everywhere.

You are in a garage, tie to a chair, your cousin and Mother are batting back forth a spider that is the size of your head and tied to a string hanging from the ceiling, just before you wake up the giant spider has landed on your face.

That one might have been a real nightmare I had (Its not like I'm scared of spiders no not me).

This reminds me of a nightmare I had when I was a kid. I was sitting in my favorite chair, and suddenly tons of spiders started pouring out of everywhere. And then, all of a sudden, giant spiders had me trapped in a net, and my baby brother was trapped in another net. Everything had a red tint to it.

a couple that i have a lot are these
1.) ive been kidnapped and the kidnapper makes me watch as he tortures and kills all of the people i love and care for most before he tortures and kills me
2.) im in the middle of the ocean with my mother, trying to get away from a shark, when I realize my mom is the shark and i either kill her or die.

and one that I like(well, not like, it's still a nightmare..)
3.) walking through the woods, the tree trunks are black, the leaves are blood red, and the branches can move and crush you under their limbs. There's a girl up ahead of me, crying for help, but no matter how fast I run or how long, I can never reach her. I then have to watch as she is slaughtered.
hope this helped,

Here's one I had years ago...
I was learning to fly (practicing making myself move up in the air with the power of my mind). There were a lot of other people flying, too. For some reason, I started falling. The others reached out their hands to help me, but each time they did this, their hands were yellow. (In the dream, the Yellow Hand was evil.)

Admittedly, yellow hands don't seem very scary in everyday life, but in the dream it was terrifying. You may want to change the "yellow hands" to "hands dripping in blood".

Interesting side note: I "escaped" from this nightmare by "waking up" in another dream. I don't know if anyone has ever dreamed that they were awake, but were actually dreaming about something completely different from real life.

Here are a few that I've had in the past.

1. I am at a party with lots of people I don't know. There is nobody there that I want to talk to, and I soon grow bored and start to wander around the house, eventually finding myself in an empty nursery. I sit down in a rocking chair and pick up a book of nursery rhymes and start to read it, but the nursery rhymes are all about horrible grotesque things like dismemberment and cannibalism. The next morning the party guests find me lying on the floor of the nursery, holding the book tight to my chest and crying uncontrollably.

2. (this one was a very short dream) A 911 operator answers a call to hear a woman on the other end of the line screaming over and over in terror. The 911 operator cannot get her to respond; she just keeps screaming. The dream then changed to the woman's perspective. She is standing on the balcony of a beach-side hotel room, wearing a white bathrobe, and holding the phone to her ear while she screams. She is pointing at the sunset.

3. I am taking a tour of a baby food factory. The factory is set up like a sausage machine, with a giant hopper on the roof into which the ingredients are dumped by helicopter. They then travel down through the factory to be processed, emerging as cans of baby food at the ground floor. The tour guide explains all of this and we find ourselves at the very top of the factory, where the mouth of the hopper juts down through the ceiling. The tour guide tells us that we are just in time to watch the next batch of ingredients get dumped into the machines waiting below. The tour guide then says, "Of course, as everyone knows, the primary ingredient in baby food is blood," and then presses a button, opening the hopper out of which pours thousands of gallons of blood.

I had a nightmare that stuck with me once. It was one of those ones where you're not actually yourself, you're someone else, and I was a teenage girl who had just broken up with her boyfriend. The boyfriend went totally nuts and started doing things like video chatting me and absolutely mutilating himself on camera, but if I stopped watching he'd do something even worse. I still liked him as a person, if not as a boyfriend, so I'd try to get him to stop but he wouldn't. Finally I just stopped watching, because I was sick of seeing him cut himself with a razor. The next time he video called me, he had gouged out his own eyes. He was sitting in the middle of a sunny park with those reflective sunglasses that are just like two little mirrors, so I could see the reflection of a sunny, happy scene, but he had blood running out from under the lenses and he kept asking "Can you see me now? Can you see me now?"

I had a nightmare that I was chased around a library by a tiny scorpion/wasp/cricket hybrid... THING, with the impression that if it touched me I would die of fright before it could actually do anything to harm me. In running from it I tipped a bookshelf and was pinned, so I became a sitting duck waiting for it to come get me.

I need a good nightmare, too, if you've got em. All I dream about is work!!!

Ebily

I've only had two nightmares that I can remember:

The first one, I had many, many years ago and for some reason still remember it today. Five year old me (normal aged me, at the time) was being chased by my sister and my mother, and I hide in my parents bathroom, but they manage to get me and cook me in the oven.
I'm not sure why I dreamed it, but I remember not being really scared in the dream, more confused and interested. It was weird.

More recently, about a week ago, I had a dream that I was standing in my bathroom, washing my face when I start to pick at a pimple. Soon, I'm peeling the skin away from my face, but instead of bloody, under-skin layer, it was purple and congealed. This continued, peeling more and more layers away from my face, each layer something different, until I found the last layer- another face. I don't remember what that face looked like, only that it freaked me out.

I also don't know, but they're not typical nightmares.

I've had this one several times.

I am with my family, driving on a bridge. All of a sudden, a whale surfaces -- and this thing is huge, big enough to eat an oil tanker in one bite. We see it and my dad tries to drive away, but the car doesn't go fast enough. The whale eats the section of the bridge we're on, and I can see daylight disappearing behind the whale's teeth. Then I look behind me and see its throat going all the way down. I usually wake up there.

This one has popped up quite a few times in my nighttime excursions into Dreamland.

I'm in a forest. It's completely ordinary, nothing dark or creepy. It's really rather pleasant. I get a prickly sensation on my neck, and I realize there's something watching me. When I turn around, there's a white bear on the path behind me. It rears up on its hind legs and roars. I start to run down the path, but I'm too slow. The bear catches me, and starts tearing at my body. When it's about to swipe my head off, I wake up.

Hope these help.

Here's one.

I volunteered to help teach a children's science camp. To train, I had to do all the labs once beforehand. I show up to the training, which is at 4 in the morning, in an abandoned elementary school. The guy shows up and turns on -some- of the lights until we get to the science lab. The lab from a simple dissection.
Then he pulls out what I'd be dissecting. It was a human corpse.
I shudder but think 'Okay, it's already dead, this is fine.' so I cut it open and pin the skin down...
...and the man I'm cutting open wakes up, his heart starts beating, and all he can do is stare at me.

I woke up and nearly vomited D:
I know I've had a few more, but most of them, strangely, had to do with business endeavours failing.

Here's one that I've had:
I'm in the library with my family when an armed man comes in and threatens to shoot down anyone who speaks or moves. My sister, who is always a toddler in this starts crying and my mom shushes her. They both die. My dad and brother yell at him to stop shooting my family. They are shot. Only I am left in the end. He kidnaps me and forces me to live as a servant stuck in his house forever. I escape one day, but I am shot in the leg and I fall down. He covers my mouth and drags me back in, where I am forced to stay there. Later on, I kill him and escape, only to live a miserable life by myself, including many years in an orphange.
The other is from when I was three and was still sleeping between my parents every night (my first nightmare):
I am at the Grand Canyon. All of a sudden, a pack of wolves creates a cloud of dust in the distance, and they are approaching quickly. They end up right on my tail. I run until I reach the edge, straight to a high drop into the Colorado River. Sometimes I fall to my demise. Other times, I land in the raft of an adventurer who saves me and brings me back home to the East coast.

Don't know if you're still looking for nightmares but occasionally i have a few really messed up ones. They aren't really logical, they seem to be abstract constructions emerging from stress and worry. So here goes, short and to the point I might add:

I can tell I'm with someone and I know my eyes are open but all I can see is black. There is some sort of inexplicable connect between me and this other person, I know that for them I would do anything. I try to talk to them but I get no reply, suddenly I feel frightened. I want them to talk to me, I desperately need them to say something but all I can seem to make out is muffling. That's when I realise they can't talk because they are inside me, not like a mental voice but physically a part of me. My desire to hear them talk is so overbearing that I decide the only way I can let their voice out is to cut my own throat and give them their own mouth.

As I was waking up from this dream and becoming more conscious I felt a bit hysterical as my logical mind took over and I realised that cutting my throat would have killed /both/ of us. I just remember the frantic and frightened response as I decided I had to hear them and let them exist as more then just a part of me. It was the vividness of the emotions that caught me off guard with that dream, most people talk about what they can see but for me it was the emotions, they were so strong and so real that I mourned a little when I woke up for what I'd done.

"Dear Diary,
Last night I had a terrible dream that my head had turned into that of a goose. I reached up to feel my hair, and it had turned into feathers. O diary, what if everything they say is true? What will I do if I actually BECOME A GOOSE????
I have decided. Tomorrow I shall aloow that annoyign wench to cut my hair.

- Some random dream about running around or doing something somewhere. Then you turn around and see somebody standing in the doorway. he has a rope and hangs himself with it, but you don't know why. As the only person around you try to get him off that rope, but you can't and have to see him die.

It's not shocking as in "Booh!", but I had it last week and I couldn't go back to sleep that night. Works best when the dream before is totally random.

Okay, be warned that I have some pretty nasty nightmares.

I wake up suddenly, with an inexplicable paralyzing sense of fear--although I don't know what I'm afraid of. I get up and go to my bathroom to wash my face and calm down. I begin to slowly calm down each time I wash my face, but a strange nagging feeling is starting to come from my mouth. It's like my lips are catching on something from inside. I open my mouth and see that one of my incisors is crooked, like it's come loose. I begin to panic a little bit because that tooth is one of my permanent ones. I carefully try to push the tooth back into my gums, but my fingers slip and the tooth pops out. I begin to cry, because although it's not painful, my mouth begins to bleed profusely. I begin to test the security of my other teeth, but the more I touch, the more they fall out until my mouth is full of bloody stumps. I'm sobbing now, and I try to scream for someone to help, but something is caught in my throat and prevents me from making noise above my hiccuping sobs. I lean over the sink and try to wash out the blood from my mouth, when a thick black mucus slides smoothly out of my throat and into the sink. Then I wake up (for real).

I'm sitting in the back of my psych professors class, where the lights are dimmer, and there are no classmates sitting beside me. My head is pounding with a monster headache, making my professor's voice blurry and unintelligible except for the tone of her muttering. The brighter lights at the front of the classroom make my vision swim and leave halos of light (like how contacts are when you drive at night). My headache gets worse, my brain feels like it's pounding and throbbing inside of my skull. It suddenly occurs to me that something is trying to get out of my head, and if I don't get it out it's going to scramble my brains and kill me. Somehow my logical reaction to this is to bash my head against my desk repeatedly, and despite my actions, no one in the room seems to notice. My head starts to hurt worse, I stop banging my head and start holding my hands on my head. I find a crack in my scalp and begin to tear it open with my fingers, blood is dripping over my eyes and sticking in my eyelashes so that I can't see. When I open my mouth to scream, I wake up.

I had mud all over my feet. Blood covered my arms and legs and I would soon find out if my best friend was laying there on the ground cold and suffering. All I could do was think about what would happen if I didn't get there in time. Hopefully she was okay....... and then I was standing over her.

I was at a party, in a strange house. I got up from my chair to get a drink and realized that I didn't know anyone, and for some reason they were all looking at me strangely. I suddenly felt like I needed to get out of the house very very quickly, so I opened a door and went out. I kept opening doors, going through rooms, into hallways, through other rooms. No matter where I went, I was in another room or hallway. I couldn't find any people but I could hear them behind the doors, until I went through the door and there was nobody there. I couldn't find the exit. In every room there was something wrong...in the fireplace something was burning that had fur...a clock was ticking but it was counting down...a room full of children's stuffed animals but none of them had eyes...
