[Writing Buddies]Adopt a Kitsune

These adorable little Japanese fox spirits just LOVE to make sure your novels are completed. But beware... If you ignore their pleas to finish your novel you will find your house... Messed up. Zero-Gravity, cats chasing dogs, fish living out of water, e.t.c. So you want one? I have one up for adoption.

Leaving:

Hikaru: She is an adorable little Kitsune. She loves to cuddle on your computer when it's not being used. She often eats ice, newspapers, and... socks. Once you adopt her if you lose socks she's to blame. She keeps you on track by annoying you (i.e. Can you finish your novel? Please? Please? PLEASE?).

Re: Adopt a Kitsune

I'll leave Aimee (pronounced like Amy). She's about the size of a regular fox. She has pinkish-red fur, with a white snout, paws, and tail. She's a fan of medieval stories. If you go a couple days without writing, she will be upset and yip like a baby fox to urge you to write something. At night, she'll want to snuggle with you, curled up at the foot of your bed or up by your pillow. Feed her oreos, especially peanut butter oreos, and she will be happy (as long as your novel stays on track).

Re: Adopt a Kitsune

Aww, I have a few kutsune to find new homes for. Anyone interested?

First up, Yume. She is, quite literally, a dream. If you're on track, that is. If not, well. Expect all your post-it notes to have been written on with guilt-trip messages, your 'recent documents' in your word files to be renamed 'nano #' and your tv remote to mysteriously disappear. Size wise, you'd be surprised such a tiny litte spirit could be so endearingly forceful to get you back on track, Yume is about as big as a tea cup.

Next is Kuro. He's playful, very much so, and requires a nice, soon-to-be-finished novel to paw over while you rest to calm him down enough for the next day. He's terribly persuasive when you're going through a rough patch, requiring only a line or two, or three, or four... maybe a paragraph?... to keep him happy. He gets on well with all sorts of other pets and is a regular sort of size for foxes. Somehow he ended up with a russet coat and two black paws.

Finally Miko, another miniature fox, perfect to observe (and persuade) from your desktop. She loves to sit in warm places when you write, and on your shoulder when you're not... just so she can whisper exactly what your missing out on as you procrastinate, not write. She's a great communicator with muses, and understands that not all days are brilliant, but she will gently persuade you to finish that novel on time. Otherwise you can kiss goodbye to your chocolate, shoes and one sock of each pair.

Kuro sounds adorable! I will take very good care of him. :)

I have a Kitsune to offer up to the NaNo-ers of the world.

Erika is a small, fox-shaped Kitsune, only about as big as a cat. Her fur is snowy white and extremely fluffy...which is to her advantage, as she tends to tickle writers when they are playing games instead of NaNo-ing. She likes to snuggle up next to you when you are writing, and loves telling people all the descriptive words she knows (This comes in very handy when you need a synonym!). Write, and Erika will be the happiest Kitsune in the world. Don't, and you will suddenly find yourself missing that stash of candy you had for later.

I'll take Hikaru! I'm always losing socks anyway, so this might help me!

Lee-Male. Small, kitten sized. Fluffy green fur with large green eyes. Very sweet and gentle, loves to sit anywhere warm. Is very adorable, which makes him sort of hard to ignore when he starts begging. He's very touchy about Angels, though. His favorite hobby: Finding socks and telling people weird old words with odd meanings, as well as some jabberwocky words.

Here's a kitsune that's just a mere pup. He's clumsy and tends to fall over a lot. The more you write, the better at walking he'll become. Be careful though, if you don't keep writing and get to the end of your book he's in danger of being taken away by distraction monster and procrastination pests!

Awww! Can I adopt Lee? He sounds perfect! We can recite jabberwocky words together. :) *shudder* and he can perhaps help me with some of my dreadful spelling/grammar habits. I'm already behind the word count. Does Lee work well with other kitsunes? I have a girl named Eun-Hwa, (Silver), too. She's kind of bossy, so if Lee's good-natured like he seems to be....Then this should work out. An adorable green kitsune~~~~ I'll take good care of him, if I get him! :)
What does he like to eat? I have lots of chocolate and spare socks, if he needs.
And I'll need them both. Even with Eun-Hwa pestering me I'm behind. And she bites. Hard. I need gentler urging. ><
Once Eun-Hwa gets over her jealousy, and stops moping around, I'm sure they'll get along famously.

I need a kitsune...I can reach the wordcount with no prob, and have for the last four years, but only one of them actually ended, so I need a little kick in the butt to end my novel. I would prefer a small, pocket sized kitsune, as I am quite mobile and will write in many different places, I also have a pocket wordcount dragon, so the two would have to get along, as I would hate to have to keep replacing pockets...lol Sadly I have no kitsunes yet, but if any turn up I will gladly post them here.

X3 I just can't resist:

Mienda (pronounced either as Mynda or Me-enda) is a rather adventurous little kitsune. She will run all around your house and make a mess of things, but can usually be placated with shiny things and stories (specifically, completed ones). Careful, though, because shiny things won't always let you procrastinate. They may just give her bigger ideas. She likes playing in streams and lakes or, alternatively, watching the fire dance (careful she doesn't get too close!). She has bright red fur and a few burn scars down the underside of her muzzle, forepaws, and belly. She's a handful, but also quite gentle and playful. If need be, she can fight off unwanted distractions tooth and claw.

This is wonderful! Considering my story focuses on Youko, the more demonic version of Kitsune, I have more than my fair share of Kitsune running around my head. I won't be adopting, but maybe I can scrounge up a few to share...?

Ah! Here we go! Meet Ten, a little sandy colored Kitsune. He's only got three tails, so he's still pretty young and not very strong, but he LOVES to play pranks! This little goof loves nothing more than a good NaNo, though beware, he's a bit of a grammar nazi. Only people who go that little bit extra and edit their novel should look to adopt Ten, as he wont accept anything less than professionalism. Get behind or slack off, and you're likely to come back with all your belongings stuck to the ceiling, except your computer, which will be sitting in a place of honor in the middle of the room. He loves tea and tofu, and the absolute best way to bribe him is to give him some Inari Zushi. They're his absolute FAVORITE.

Oh, I want a kitsune please. The angels, they didn't tempt me (much) but I need one of these guys. I need one with lots of quirks and no name, maybe an orphan? Something that has a strange and magic feel to them...oh, I suppose I don't care; I'll just lurk and wait for one to show up.

Here's a few for whoever shows up next -

Kaemon: He's about as big as a cat and only has two tails. He had bright, vivid green fur, dark green eyes, and a surprising low voice. Kaemon's young and it shows; he loves to praise people for their writing, but he doesn't know quite what to do when they don't write. Generally he ends up looking sad and tries to think of ideas for their story to convince them to write again. He loves peppermint tea and any kind of vegetable

Leiko: She has three tails and dark maroon fur. She's about the size of a small dog and is certain that her ideas are better than anyone else's ideas and that her way is always best. She's normally right as well, which doesn't help. Underneath this arrogance is a kitsune who truly cares about the people around her but isn't all that good at being social. She tends to bully and insult, so she isn't one to take home if you have sensitive feelings. Leiko loves meat.

Milk -
Milk is about the size of a cat and has (surprisingly) dark brown fur with white on the tip of her muzzle, like a milk mustache.
She loves to hide under blankets and encourage her owner to keep writing. She also enjoys curling up with you... After you've hit your word goal.

However, if you don't write for a few days, be prepared to say goodbye to your caffeine intake and any sweet treats you may have. She'll find them all. Her eyes go silver when she's happy, and she gets along well with all helpers (I don't have a Demon yet so I don't know if she'll mind them). She'd suit someone writing a romance or a young adult novel.

Katsu is a black fox, about the size of a kitten. He's got red eyes, which actually seem to shine in the darkness, so they can be a little unnerving. He's a bit more vicious than Maki, and if you don't write for a few days will growl at you loudly and run around your feet when you're going places. He will quite happily steal all your belongings other than your writing equipment if you don't write. He will sit on your lap while you write and keep you warm, and he enjoys fighting and complicated plot lines. He doesn't like Angels or Plot Cats, so if you've got either of those, you may want to warn them to stay away.

Toshiyuki is a tiny red fox. He'll fit on your shoulder quite happily- in fact, that's his favourite perch. He enjoys knowing things, and is an excellent source of research, so he'd suit anyone writing a novel that involves research of any kind. He prefers historical fiction. He will yowl loudly if you don't finish your daily word counts, and will feed you interesting facts if you do. He's much more mature than his brother and sisters, so he'd suit someone who wants a tiny kitsune without them being immature/childish. He has two black rings around his eyes that look almost like glasses, bless him, and he has a black sock on his front left paw.

Mitsuko is a white fox about the size of a puppy. She's bigger and older than her brothers and sister and is quite protective of them, a trait she'll transfer to whoever adopts her. Her pink eyes are very large and they light up when it is dark. Her favourite time is the night, as she enjoys lighting up her various body parts and claiming to be a star. She will steal your distractions if you don't meet your word goals, and she likes any genre of story as long as it has a coherent plot. She does not get on with Plot Cats as she likes stories going off on tangents. The tip of her tail is coloured like a sunset and she has black claws. She will sleep on your feet as you write.

Re: [Writing Buddies]Adopt a Kitsune

Oh, I like Maki and Adelaide, but I'd be afraid of frightening them with my story this year....so I suppose I'll simply keep lurking. Still kinda in love with the idea of strange nameless ones with odd quirks and mysterious back stories. Maybe later.

Here's one that I can't keep but I think someone would like -

Arashi is quite large, about the size of a border collie. He makes up for this by managing to fit into spaces where he shouldn't possibly be able to fit. He has an ever shifting coat colour; it's almost impossible to tell what colour it actually is with all the illusions he puts on it. It does look to be a dark colour though...his eyes are always left the same dark blue with green flecks. He has five tails, which he often uses to grab and move things. He's quite a kind and modest creature, despite his clear skill at anything he tries. Arashi will go along with pretty much whatever you ask, though he can be found daydreaming more often and not and can seem distant. If he gets angry he goes cold, but that's very hard to do. He'll like anything you make and praise it, but he'll eat other things if he has to.

I'd like to adopt Maki!

And I'd also like to introduce Haruka. She's dark, silky blue with long hair and golden eyes. She's young and has 3 tails, and she's about the size of a chihuahua. She can't wait to see what you write, but she's more concerned with helping you do your research. She can mostly be found with your books, and browsing the Internet for facts to help your story come alive. When she finds that perfect gem that will help your story, she will shiver with happiness all over and will be proud that she could help!

The best thing you can do is to finish your finish your story and use her little details, but if you don't beware, because she will start eating your books in frustration.

Well, since all my kitsune have been snapped up, I thought I might introduce these two little guys I found shivering on my doorstep...I'm still looking for one of my own.

Kata is a light red which can be mistaken for pink in the right light, kitsune with only one tail. She's still a kit and it shows; she adores playing with everything and everyone. She simply can't seem to stay still. She likes all sorts of food, but she enjoys sweets best.

Kin is a soft golden little kitsune with two tails. He's about the size of a small cat and has bronze eyes. He's very quiet, and doesn't say much, but when he does speak it tends to be very meaningful. He likes to curl up in warm places and the only thing he adores is taffy.

So this nameless guy just sauntered in like he owns the place. Don't really think my NaNo family like him, so here he is.
He has copper coloured fur which is very thick and fluffy, and he's just a bit shorter than an adult german shepherd. He has 4 tails with blood-red markings forming patterns right up them and onto his back.
He informed me that he's quite powerful and will go to any length to make you work - although only if he likes the story. He's not one for gore or sappy romance.

I just found a Kitsune wandering around in my backyard. I think he could smell my novel, but he's much too big for me to keep in my room. His name is Arthur, and he's silver with two black socks on his front paws. He's about the size of a Golden Retriever, and he's currently taking up about half of my bed, so I need someone to adopt him!

He's not great with research, but he loves to contribute plot twists and sub-plots. If you don't reach your daily word count, he'll take up your entire bed and not let you in until you've reached your goal. He loves coffee and pastries, and if you stop writing or don't share your snacks, he'll poke you incessantly with his nose.

Someone please take him!

Re: [Writing Buddies]Adopt a Kitsune

I found a pair of twins wandering around in my Dad's garden. Here they are:
Shiro and Kuro-They are practically identical, about the size of a house cat, with dark blue eyes The only difference is Shiro is pure white while Kuro is jet black. Shiro is sweet and innocent and almost like a child, always willing to root you and characters on and always encouraging. Even when you're not writing he still trys to be kind, gently persuading you (and bribing you with candy) When you breaking down, curled up on the floor, sobbing your heart out, he's the one that's licking your cheek and saying encouraging things. He loves fruits, especially watermelon. He also loves to curl up around her neck or one your shoulder
Kuro is the opposite. He's mischievous and very sarcastic. He'll almost always be rooting for your villain/the most violent character. When you refuse to write, he'll nip at your hand, and confiscate all your candy. When your breaking down, curled up in a sobbing mess on the floor, he'll just sit there and watch you. While eating your candy. However, he does give very good advise, if you ask nicely. And, if you have an annoying sister/teacher/parent/pet/whatever, that's keeping you from writing, he'll be more then happy to cause trouble for them so they'll be to distracted to keep you from writing. He does a playful side, and whenever he sees a piece of string or a laser pointer (and he thinks no one's around) he'll start pouncing it on it and playing with it. Once he realizes your there, he'll be embarrassed and slink away trying to keep his dignity. He absolutely loves sweets, and may end up eating all your chocolate. he tends to get jealous very easily, when his brother spends more time with other people, and will also be upset when you spend more time with other people. At night he likes to curl up against you

The two seem to be inseparable, and would prefer to both live with the same owner.

Since I adopted a pair, I figure it's only right that I leave one that I found.

Kynara - She's small and cuddly with thick, soft, gray fur and warm brown eyes. She likes to snuggle up in your lap while you write. In fact, she will get into mischief when you aren't sitting down and writing. She'll begin by barking and crying loudly. If that doesn't work, she'll beginning knock things off your desk to get your attention focused there. If you get stuck on a spot, she's always there, encouraging you to keep at it. She's also very skilled at chasing down plot bunnies and bringing them back to you.

Got a little guy named Tai who's yearning for a new plot to follow. He'll be your biggest fan, contently watching you plod away at your novel and giving you the third degree the moment you stop writing. He's a eggshell white, with a big brown patch over hie left eye. He likes mint tea, chocolate sauce and baked potatoes, and loves listening to loud, blasting music while you write. The size of a small kitten, but has some heft to him: good for cuddling!

Aww I'll take Tai! We'll eat chocolate sauce together.

Leaving:

Iggy: She is very inquisitive and always wants to see what you are writing. She enjoys making paper clip or sticky note chains, so guard your office supplies closely. You can wear her like a living fox fur boa! She is not afraid to nip you if you keep procrastinating. She likes chick lit and romance stories, but she will love whatever you write. Iggy is pink with black paws. Her favorite food is spray cheese, but it gets all over her whiskers.

Ranma: Ranma will let you know when you have made a mistake by barking loudly, which is helpful late at night when you are running on coffee and falling asleep. He doesn't get along with angels well, but he likes to hang out with hellhounds and looks up to them, even though he is childlike and not very fierce yet. He has the coloring of a regualar fox, but his eyes are whatever color he feels like that day. He likes bread without the crust, smoothies, satsumas, frosting, and tuna.

Tsuyoshi- Tsuyoshi is a younger, cocky kitsune. He is dark brown with black fur at the tip of his tail and he has shining green eyes. His favorite food is peanut butter. He can get very annoyed when you don't keep up with your wordcount, and will motivate you with an 'I'm starving for more of your writing' look, and an occasional nibble on your hand.

She looks exactly like a red fox in size and in color. Except for one thing, her bright blue eyes that will pretty much dart everywhere in excitement. She really wants to see how your novel is going and will encourage you with advice until you finish it. But be warned, her advice isn't very helpful at all and it can be as silly as "Maybe you should add a bee who can turn into a golf club in your story!". But hey, that might lead to interesting plot bunnies. She has a handful of three fluffy tails, all of them actively flicking up and down happily.

And while I'm here, I'll drop off a couple...

This little guy informs me that his name is Blizzard, named for his snow white fur. The size of a small cat, Blizzard has an incredibly fluffy tail and seems the most comfortable curling up around his writer's shoulders. Despite his peaceful appearance, he really has a passion for writing that's dark and bordering on horror. He also has a constant craving for all things cinnamon!

Then there's a nameless little girl who's the size & shape of a swift fox and the color of blue sapphires. Her long fur shimmers as she quickly moves from place to place. She'd probably be most at home with a writer who has several surfaces for her to perch on...but as long as she's fed fruits, she'll be too busy to notice the lack of jumping platforms.

Is there anyway I can get one? They seem to be all adopted. O_o I wanted someone like Blizzard to help me get over my fear of killing any of my characters.

Since I'm here, I'll drop these ones off....

Flare, she is a bright red fox sized kitsune, she will curl up in your lap when she get's tired. But, for the most part she's darting from one side of the room to the other, blurting out random character names and personalitys. She's not very good at telling you setting ideas, probably because she can't stop long enough to actually look at any of the settings.

Snow, Snow is a more layed back Kitsune, she likes to constantly perch on your shoulder. She simply pokes you in the head and whispers, 'another line? Please, please, PLEASE!' And before you know it she has had you write a whole paragrpah. She's a white, cat sized spirit with twinkling blue eyes. She likes to drink milk, and, if you go without writing for about a week you can kiss your hair accesories and shampoo good bye, that is, if you can get to them before she eats them.

Polky, he is a little pink baby Kitsune, he doesn't give advicce just likes to perch on the top of your head and ask over and over if yoou've written anything today. If you ignore him, he'll cry, really loudly. He has the uncontrolible erge to play in socks and usually tears little holes in them.

This three need homes where they can enjoy themselves! And I need a layed back Kitsune who can add a little darkness to my story, so that I can become a great writer, with there help!

Re: [Writing Buddies]Adopt a Kitsune

Found a couple more this afternoon. Always when I'm trying to avoid plotting a story - I think they're trying to tell me something....Anyway. On to the kitsunes.

I have a lovely, little girl here who claims her name is Sunflower...or Buttercup...or Daffodil...She's really not sure. In any case, she's small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and a beautiful shade of sunshine-yellow with a personality to match. While comfortable hiding in a pocket, she'd love to expand her horizons and see the world. Perhaps with a little knowledge under her belt, she'll remember what her name is...

The very handsome Pewter is the size of a normal house-cat with short fur the color of, as his name suggests, pewter. This guy appears to be very confident in the abilities of his writer, already telling me that his writer is the best in the world when he doesn't even have one yet! Very upbeat and positive, Pewter enjoys happy endings no matter what the genre.

Miko sounds absolutely perfect! I would love to adopt her.

Now with her I would like to leave these cute little furballs.

Meet Hana and Aiko, little purple and red fox spirits with a penchant for mischief. If you don't give them more of your novel to read they'll start disorganizing all your stuff and eating all your delicious snack foods. They're sisters and can't bear to be apart from one another unless they're arguing for the spot on your right shoulder. They like being on the right shoulder. If one gets it the other resigns to being in the pocket where she can't give you more ideas. If you ignore them they go on a special mission to mess up everything. Everything that will go wrong in your life will be because you tried to ignore these two.

I found this little girl in my kitchen sink. I can't keep her because of one little fact: She has Dissociative identity disorder.

Yuna (Main Personality): A small pocket-sized kitsune that is calico colored. She loves Hershey's chocolate bars. She loves to travel and see other places. She is extremely kind and doesn't want to hurt anyone. She is very soft on punishment when you don't work on your novel.

Natsu (Other Personality): A small pocket-sized kitsune that is black. She likes chicken. She would rather be writing than seeing the world even though she doesn't mind it. She is hot-headed and hates it when people procrastinate for too long. She is very strict on punishment.

Mizuki-A pure white little fox with a penchant for snow and water. If you're up north where it snows in November, or if you've got a stream nearby if you're not, she'll go and play in them; but if you start slacking, she'll come and shake water all over your muse. She likes to take bites out of inner editors in particular. Her favorite food is noodles that she can slurp loudly.

I'd like to adopt Kata. She sounds adorable, and as a sweet-tooth girl, I'll have plenty of treats for her to choose from. I'm afraid I don't have any playmates for her yet, but I'll find some. :) Would it be all right if she made an appearance in my novel? And is there anything she's afraid of? Because if werewolves, vampires, or people who've had way too much cosmetic surgery and are perpetually orange frighten her, I'll tell her to cover her eyes during those parts, or sit her down in front of a Disney movie.

Here you are. *passes Kata over* You seem like a wonderful owner for her, knowing how much she likes Disney movies already.

Don't worry about not having playmates; she won't mind having you all to herself for a while.

I don't see why she can't be in your novel if you'd like to put her there. I'm sure she'd find it 'fun'. And as far as I can tell she isn't afraid of anything. She brightly asked me for a piece of raspberry pie when I found her, and she hasn't been frightened by any of my other writing friends so far, though she is annoying them a little. I think she's the type to bounce up to the evil demon of doom that looks horribly ugly and ask if they can be friends.

Re: [Writing Buddies]Adopt a Kitsune

Oh, thank you! I promise I'll take good care of her. :)

Meanwhile, I found an orphan last night who was looking for someone, and I was wondering if it might be you. He hasn't told me his name, and I'm not sure if he has one and maybe forgot it or if the poor little guy has never had a name. He's a dark smoky gray with silver markings and bright silver eyes. He has three tails and he's about the size of a six-month old kitten, but he's no kit. He's kind of moody, snuggly one moment and a bit distant the next. He'll never stop caring about his owner and their novel.

Now, I have to warn you, he's a bit strange. He keeps fading into the shadows, quite literally, and popping up in a different place than where he disappeared from. I think he can travel great distances that way, because I turned around to find him shaking off snow and muttering something about polar bears a few hours ago. But I'm not sure because he refuses to confirm or deny my theories, and he's a little pain in the butt about it too. Something about me not being fit to know his secrets. Oh, and he keeps getting into the candy corn. He won't eat real corn or popcorn, but he's crazy for the candied kind. And if you don't hide it, he'll gobble it all up.

Story-wise, he likes to root for the bad guys, monsters, and characters with the best weapons / magic / use of things that go boom, so if your story has anything like that, know that your villains will be well cheered for. As for helping you get your story done, he gives good advice and encouragement here and there, but he's not sappy. No, no. He's too macho, er, dignified for that. (Though I saw him drinking Gatorade and watching The Bad Girls Club earlier).

If he sounds like your kitsune, then I'll send him over to meet you. If not, leave a reply, and someone else can ask after him.

I would LOVE Ranma!! I need a kitsune to add to me (possibly) growing family! I will take very good care of him! I need that barking... And I'm on the way to pick up a hellhound as we speak! Good thing he likes tuna. I hate it, so he can eat all of my mom's

Re: [Writing Buddies]Adopt a Kitsune

Well, you're in luck then - I found a little furball playing with Akari and my hellhounds this afternoon.

He's grey with a silver sheen and about the size of an arctic fox. He enjoys curling up on his writer's head & shoulders and will lightly flick you on the nose with his two, fluffy tails if you avoid conflict in your stories. However, when you embrace conflict and the darker side of writing, he purrs happily. The drawback is the little guy refuses to tell me his name. Maybe with a little bit of cookie dough you can coax it out of him...

Well...the original was adopted by Meemerdd but we can clone him. I think the little bugger left some fur around here somewhere.

*clones grey furball*

Hmm....Seems to have same personality...and he just took my cookie dough. >.>

We have a winner! Enjoy your new little critter!
