Midnight Raven

These bird creatures don't like to be caged up and like flying high in the sky where their wings can spread out into plot lines, characters, and other fantastic ideas! Most of them are untrained and show up at the most unexpected time. If you treat them right, however, you may train your's to inspire you at just the right moment!

Lya - A pink peacock that paints with its tail feathers and creates fantastic scenes to inspire your stories. She loves sitting on your shoulder like a consultant, whispering ideas as you write. Remember to feed her bits of seeds and crackers while you go or you might not be able to keep up with all the things she's telling you.

Thought of a few more!

Ivory is a tundra swan. He is mute and likes to express the ideas he's gathered in a sort of rhythmic dance. He's a little older than most so he knows how to be patient while you figure out just exactly what he's trying to tell you. Reward him with a nice relaxing swim in your bathtub. :)

For all of you who are a Seattlite:

Honk! He is a mallard duck with a emerald green head and strong wings. He will quack at you loudly if you ever should stray from your writing and is not above pecking you all the way to your computer. While you write, he likes guzzling water and swimming in your fish tank.

I'd like to adopt Honk please! I have a feeling he'll fit right in with Lunaete...

Go right ahead :D If you find a Wing make sure to drop him off. ^^

Kay so in my first post I should have said flying creatures instead of bird creatures. I apologize for this mistake.

Kerin is a swallowtail butterfly and is known to shower your head with inspiration dust as you sleep. She flutters around you while you aren't writing and sits on your computer while you write. Be careful though! She can die easily if you don't write your ideas down as soon as she gives them to you! Be quick and get to your laptop or notepad or other writing utensil!

I found two little skylarks. They seem to be siblings. Their names are Jaymie and Olissa. They have grey and brown feathers and slightly greenish eyes. They're very sweet. Well they can be. Olissa tends to be more of a healer and the one who helps you when it comes to love and friendship. Of course that also means that she can be very needy at times. Jaymie is more into drama and action. When things need to get complicated he is the guy who will fill in the plot holes and make the whole maze make perfect sense.

I'll take 'em both. I think they should stay together.

I would love to adopt Ivory. He sounds like the perfect partner to help me out. And who wouldn't want an adorable dancing swan? :)

Also, I found a little canary who's name seems to be Leanne. She's a little eccentric and crazy and sort of a chatterbox, but she gives a lot of great ideas to have when you need them. She won't distract you when you're working though. Don't worry. When not twittering away, Leanne likes to whistle soft tunes and sit on one's shoulder. :)

If anyone wants piratical stories I have a Wing that's perfect for you. :) His name is Garias, and he's a beautiful macaw. His feathers are a twisted combination of the colors silver, gold and dark green, with long black tail feathers and a black beak. He's only the size of a dove, though, and loves perching on your desk or on your curtain rod. He also enjoys walking back and forth on windowsills as he looks outside, soaking in the sunlight. He can help with piratical novels, from high sea adventures to swashbuckling heroes, and he'll also add a bit of mysticism if you ask nicely, as he usually isn't too fond of fantasy and pirates mixed together. His favorite snacks are small fish, like sardines or even anchovies at a stretch. He also likes munching on a piece of toast once in a while.

Ooh, ooh! Me please! Garias, how do you feel about stories about pirates and vampires? No mysticism, just the undead. Please? *makes adorable face at the pretty parrot*

Leaving: Arang

Arang is a bat, and therefore nocturnal, so if you're one of those people who like to write in the evenings, at night or very early in the morning, he might just like to come home with you. He's deathly afraid of dogs, so my Hellhound is scaring him away, because otherwise I'd keep him. He's sweet and silent, flying around your head and doing silly flip-flops in joy to inspire you and make you laugh when you feel you'll never reach 50K. Free to a good home?

I need a sweet adorable eagle. He/She has to get along with Kitsune, cats, fish, e.t.c.

Midnight Raven

How about Fredrick? He's a proud white bellied sea eagle who, though is fond of fish, prefers them to be salty so those in your fish tank will probably be safe. If ever you are stuck or trapped in writer's block he'll surely turn to you and say "Well you could always add..." to spark your imagination. :)

I found this beautiful Canadian Goose in my bathroom sink. His name is Martin.

He is a weird bird. He often flies around in circles for fun. He has a strange liking for those "delicious" breath mints in the bathroom. He likes to dance... On your head.

I'm looking for some wings of inspiration! =D My story's a bit fantastical (or somethi ng) and has lots of magic and its own language and keeps giving me plot twists I hadn't originally planned on having. I'd like a birdie (or other winged creature) to keep things soaring. ^_^

To help out somebody else, I'm leaving Sylphanus. He usually goes by just Sylph, although Sylphus occasionally is acceptable. He is a very proud, intelligent winged horse that loves to learn about all sorts of things. He can't stand being stagnant and is always trying to stay one step ahead of the writer. He is pure white, with pure white wingtips. He has dark golden eyes and on the very tip of his nose is a pink mark in the shape of a writer's quill.

I'd love to adopt Sylph, if he'll have me.

Also, if you're interested, a phoenix stumbled into my backyard this morning. His name is Rags (it may be short for something, but he won't tell me...) and his tears have rejuvenating power to get you back to writing after you're tired! He's fast enough to chase those plot twists and keep them all together, but he'll steal your hot chocolate if you're not watching carefully. He's a bright red colour, with beautiful golden eyes, and he's about knee-height.

Alaska.Rose
12449 words so far

Wow, he sounds PERFECT. =D Being a college student from a big family with lots of kids, I have very little time to write in the day, and by the time assignments are done and I get to writing, I'm already pretty tired. I could definitely use a bit of that rejuvenating power to keep me going. ^_^ I'll be sure to take good care of him, and I won't mind if he wants a sip of my cocoa.

I'm going to leave a little fella I found with my Wings recently.

Po is a silver and black Raven. He is proud and strong, with strong abilities when it comes to giving ideas. He isn't quite so good with Plot Cats, but he'll do well with others. His favorite time is early morning/late night, so should probably be your writing time if you adopt him. Oh, and he's male, in case you didn't figure that out.

CatOfManyWhiskers
22467 words so far

I would love to adopt Po, as I do write late in the day a lot, usually 10:00 PM up to 12:00 AM. Sometimes I do it around 7:00 AM, but not often. I can't think without coffee. XD I do have a lot of other companions, but they're all excited to meet him. Van, my one-eyed plot cat, is especially looking forward to him, but not as a snack, more as a someone to enjoy conversation and tea.

DonaNobisPacem
50388 words so far Winner!

He wouldn't mind that. It's just if the cat wants to attack him. Have fun with him! He should be friendly.

I'm just going to stalk this thread until another bird show ups for me to kidnap/surprise-adopt. ;D

I do, however have a bird who doesn't particularly like me that I would really enjoy getting rid of. Her name is Ismerella, and she is a elegant (and quite stuck-up) kestrel who seems to think I'm beneath her. She is much too mature and sensible to help with my insane and borderline psychotic plots. She is rather intelligent and can ramble endlessly in flowery language but if you are able to translate her elegancy, she has some very good ideas. She also quite enjoys romance of any kind and can go on for hours and hours about a couple and where she sees their relationship going. Please take her or she will never leave me alone. D:

Thank you so much :D Because I really need help with my couples :)
Would you like to have Hunter instead? He is a falcon an, as his name says, always on the hunt for great ideas so you can go on writing for hours and hours.
He is very loyal but a bit jealous - you have to spend some time only with him or else he will kill the ideas he brought to you.
His feathers are, unlike for a falcon, a pure white, which shows that you have to take the ideas without prejudices and without thinking about if they fit in your plot. He will make sure that it all makes sense in the end. He gets along fine with Word-Counting Dragons and NaNo-Angels and, if they leave him alone or are very nice to him, Plot-Cats.
If you want him, I'll be glad to give him to you :)

I need a Wing! Writers block has reared its ugly head and I need someone to shower me with inspiration so I can work again.
I'm writing a story that's looking likely to evolve into a young adult adventure with some mild fantasy elements. If you find a Wing who likes those types of story, please ask him/her if they can get along with Angels, Hellhounds, Wordcount Dragons, Plot Cats and Kitsunes, because I have all of those residing with me right now and I'd hate to have to deal with fights. If you find one, please let me know!

I leave Aeli (pronounced like Ellie) up for adoption. She's a Golden Pheasant with silver eyes. She loves fantasy and will spend hours detailing parts of fantasy worlds she'd love to see. She enjoys a good fight every now and then, too, and if she feels your plot is too peaceful she will try and get you to write your characters into some form of fight. She's good with thinking up names for fantasy characters and places. I'd keep her for my non-NaNo novel, but I'm not going to be writing it for some time, so she'd be bored with me. She's most active in the early evening, but will happily change her schedule to be more active whenever you find it easiest to write.

I have Mo here to share with ya'll! I found him wandering around my campus. He's a penguin, so taking to the air isn't his specialty, but he's sweet, cuddly, and loves to squawk at you and give you a big hug to help produce ideas, and will follow you around like a waddling shadow! If you start ignoring him he'll get very sad and sulk in a corner until you realize you need inspiration again! He is especially useful if your story is water-centric, as he can soar through water with as much grace as an eagle in the sky!

Unfortunately, my nanonovel is set very much in the sky, so Mo has been rather uncomfortable with me as of late :( Please give him a good home!

Silverblown

There's an abundant lack of water in Northside, my novel setting, but who's to say Strong Like You'll be the only novel I'll ever write. Plus. Mo's too adorable for me to pass up. *huggles him and builds an entire water park for him* U___U

Leaving: Tadwick is a robin, who enjoys abstract themes, especially familial and/or Christmas ones (or for those who do not celebrate the holiday, anything along the lines of caring, giving and taking, sharing, unity, etc, is perfect for him). He's passionate about what he believes in and at the moment, he's settled himself into the role as your muse-manager and with an unmatched tenacity, he will do whatever he can to get your inspiration and creative juices flowing. :)

I've found some wings of inspiration that need a good home.

The first is Lenore.
Lenore is an emu. She might not be able to fly, but her wings are full of wonderful ideas. Always unique, Lenore will give you many creative ideas. Plus her feathers are extra soft and fluffy so when she kneels down she makes a perfect pillow.

The second is Zax.
Zax is a large dragonfly. He's quick and clever, always zooming here and there. He would probably do best in a sci-fi setting or maybe something with dinosaurs. Whatever it is, Zax will be happy to share with you all the wonderful thoughts he has.

Ooh, I'd love to bring Zax with me, if he can stand a little fantasy!
Also, I was walking home today and two little wings begged me to put them up for adoption.

Flitter, a hummingbird, is always eager to read the next line of your novel, and wont leave you alone until you finish your chapter. She is quite the optimist, and is up to cheering you up when you're down, or tracking down your muse when he goes on vacation.

The other little guy I found is a dragon, who was shrunken by wizards as they tried to kidnap him to help them write their spell books. He escaped, but in the process was shrunken to a fourth of his size. He is no longer fond of wizards but is open to learning about the good ones in a fantasy novel, but would much rather venture into romance or Sifi. He is very into making things realistic, so if you need some help he would provide it - even if you dont ask for it.
Please take them, they're eating all of my food, because they can't feed on te words of my book. I'll save that for mine.

Alright I found this little cockatoo outside my window. He was about to get eaten by these little kittens (see the Adopt a Cat thread) and I just had to put him up for adoption. His name is Marlin and he's a strange little picky bird. He enjoys all types of story, but he enjoys long-winded explanations.

Also, if anyone else has a little bird for me, it would be greatly appreciated!

The Madlib Hatter
33478 words so far

I'll take Marlin! I have a tendency to ramble so he'll be absolutely, positively perfect for me!

I found this Resplendent Quetzal the other day. I have no clue what he's doing so far away from Mexico, but he says his name is Marco. He likes Adventure, Indiana Jones-types the best, but really loves any genre under the moon. He's the perfect size for perching on your shoulder to give you snippets of ideas for scenery and mysteries, and has a knack for naming characters. His tail feathers measure to about 3 feet long, and he becomes quite vain and pretentious when it comes to them, so try to keep your other pets away from it. If you fail to write, he will sit on your desk miserably, eat one of each pair of socks so that nothing matches, and remind you that his species is highly endangered. If you want to keep him happy, just feed him some Lima beans. I can't keep him, as everything that he suggests doesn't really work into a Fantasy-Adventure story.

I'LL TAKE HIM!!! Resplendent Quetzal are ADORABLE!!! (Thank you Google)
