The old waterfall dive

So I've had two separate chase scenes end with someone going over a waterfall and being washed away in turbulent water. Now the mechanics of each waterfall dive have been very different but still - twice in one story?! I feel I've discovered a personal cliche.

Has anyone else used this as a chase-ender? Do you find you have your own action tropes you fall back on?

I found I had a trope where characters would travel through time in order to escape, mostly by falling.
