I'm up for some writing buddies! But i'd love someone who actually wants to talk/get to know each other not just someone to add to my buddies list. Oh, i'm writing a queer sci-fi romance in case you were wondering...
I would love a buddy, and I'm with allmylove. I want someone who actually wants to talk and not just sit on my buddy list looking all awkward. Nanomail me for my contact info. :)
I would also totally love a NaNo snail-mail pen pal. That would be awesome. :)
Same here! I think I had exactly one buddy who actually talked to me last year. It's just weird having buddies but not talking to them at all. So if anyone wants to be buddies, just message me! I'm not sure which plot I'm writing yet, but there will be urban fantasy. No vampires or werewolves. :) I wouldn't mind a snail-mail pen pal either - I'm in Germany.
Hi, I'm interested in being a buddy. Snail mail is an option if you want. This is my first year with nano, but you have my word, it's not my first to writing.
I'm with you! In the past I've only had one or two people who actually talked to me through out the month and none that kept in touch afterward. I'm hoping to be able to work on my novel this year (though there's a lot going on in my life right now, so I'm not sure how much writing I"ll actually get done) and I'd love to have other NaNo-ers to talk with through it!
Feel free to NaNomail me!
For those of you that are wondering, I'm most likely going to be writing a zombie-themed novel this year but I'm still not sure what it involves other than that.
I would love to have a writing buddy, someone to bounce ideas off of and for me to help that person as well, basically to be friends while we climb the metaphorical Mt. Saint WordCount. I am a person who likes to chat it up with my writing buddies, get to know them, become friends, i don't just want someone in my buddy list. especially because i am a newbie here.
I'm looking for writing buddies closer to my age (21-35) Name: Rebekah Age: 28 NaNoWriMo Username: Rebekah1213 AIM/YIM/MSN/ETC Screen Name: I have YIM and facebook, but please message me for both (I also have a blog) Years Participating in NaNo: 2010 and 2011 How Many Have You Won: 2010 Location: Lorain, Ohio Story Idea For This Year: Murder thriller and it have very adult themes. Title: Still working on it How do you write (word/pen and paper/etc): I write both with pen and paper and MS Word.
Hells yeah! I'm a big fan of very adult themes. XD What kind specifically?
I'm 24 and writing about a young guy who's been sexually abused, forced into prostitution, and torture-raped. I'm busy and loner-like, so I'm really just looking for that one special writing buddy with whom I can click and talk openly about explicit stuff with. Does that sound at all appealing to you?
I'm always looking for some buddies! Especially anyone who's a NaNo Rebel this year. I could definitely use some extra support my first year writing something other than a novel in November!
I'm definitely up for meeting new friends/writing buddies. I don't get out much because of work and school. I'm a 24 year old psychology major, and if you would like to know more please feel free to add and/or message me!
My name is Majanka. I'm 21 years old, living in Belgium and totally new to the NaNoWriMo thing. I've written some novels before (in the process of self-publishing one of them, by the way) but this is my first time trying out NaNoWriMo. I'm totally excited, but I think I'll probably need some help with plot doctoring, dialogue and general character talk, word wars, or just some chitchat :P In exchange, I would love to help you out with your novel as well. I would prefer writing buddies who write genres I know something about as well - fantasy (currently writing a fantasy novel), horror, thrillers, historical fiction or romance.
I'm a law major at university, so my schedule can be hectic at times. However, if you send me a mail I'll mail back within 24 hours. Promise :) I also have a website, so if you have one too we could exchange comments and maybe link back to each other or sometihng? I also have MSN and XFire if you want to get in touch with me.
I've never had a writing buddy before....I want one now! Please :P
Feel free to add me as a buddy, I love discussing writing, brainstorming, complaining, being positive and everything else that goes with NaNoWriMo :) I usually write fantasy, but have also written sci-fi and chicklit. Very diverse, I know. Stories can take you anywhere :)
I am up to having writing buddies. I am online quite a bit when I am not working and am willing to talk. I can offer advice, encouragement or even talk about topics outside NaNoWriMo. I agree, there is no point in having people on a buddy list if they do not wish to actually talk.
Hi! This is the first time I have ever done NaNoWriMo. I had never even heard of it before today. I "like" Richelle Mead on facebook (author of The Vampire Academy Series) and she posted today about November being the National Novel Writing Month. I have always thought about writing a novel, so I thought this would be the perfect time to start!
I am 21 years old and live in Iowa. I go to college and have my AA degree, but not sure what I want to major in yet. I spend most of my free time reading, listening to music, and watching tv. Right now I'm watching Dancing With The Stars, The Ringer, Psych, Supernatural, and Being Erica (I have to watch this online though, since it only airs in Canada now). My favorite singer is Ryan Star! :)
I love to read all genres of books, so I'm not sure what I want to write about yet. I would love some writing buddies though, to help each other out and chat :)
Holla! I would love some writing buddies. I have some on my list, people that I have accumulated over the years, but unfortunately 95% of them are not participating this year and my writing buddy list just looks pathetic. I'd love to have someone to chat with between paragraphs through email or chat (on Facebook maybe? I dunno, I have an AIM but I'm never signed on). Send me a NaNoMail if you'd like to be friends. Oh, and we can totally kick each others' butts into gear if necessary. :)
Okay, a little more about me, because I wasn't really paying attention when I wrote my initial post, I was having to play nurse for my dear boyfriend who is recovering from surgery...
My real name is Kristin, and this is my third year doing NaNoWriMo. I fully intend on winning again this year, and I think this novel may possibly be awesome enough to publish! Last years' was pretty cool too, but a little more superficial. I'm 25, a dance instructor and substitute teacher, and kinda a weirdo. But in a good way, not in a "sit outside your house and watch you" kind of way. In an "overly done up for a Thursday afternoon and squeeze the ketchup directly on to the fry" sort of way.
Oh, and I also have a blog! I JUST created it (like, two minutes ago), but I intend to update it as I write, so feel free to follow for your own enjoyment! http://nanowriter-kristin.blogspot.com/
Hello. I'm Rinalda and I've recently *and by recently I mean an odd two days ago* joined this wonderful site with lovely people and infinite forums. And, truth be told, I'm a bit nervous and panicky. I've added a few buddies based on random forum posts I've seen and liked, but I'm not sure how to approach this whole buddy-system.
I like coffee, cats, nutella, crisp autumn days, pillows, the smell of books, the smell of rain, ribbons, writing, imagining things, observing people, watching excessive amounts of movies/shows/anime, reading, making handmade jewelry, drawing, laughing until tears come out, going to concerts and festivals... Well, you kind of get the picture.
I tend to procrastinate, which is why I've taken on this November challenge. To prove something to myself. To prove that 'if you can dream it, you can do it' (well, except for suddenly developing a mermaid voice and becoming an internationally-acclaimed singer. Not gonna happen.)
So if anyone is interested in becoming my active buddy, feel free to do so... I'll be on almost every day, usually during the evenings... And by evenings I mean nights. My timezone is GMT+2:00, but hey, that's what e-mails and snail-mail are for, right?
Oh, and my novel (dare I call it that) is some sort of YA fantasy-comedy mash-up.
Pick meeeee! My muse is easily distracted; I need a ''Circle of Shame'' to keep me honest on my projects! (You know, people that say ''oh, you did your best'' while looking down on you when you come up with excuses for why you aren't writing. Like a social circle. But even more judgmental.)
I do enjoy being judgmental... When I'm writing I always like bouncing ideas off others! I'd gladly take a few names to add to my AIM or e-mail to keep myself motivated.
Yes...a circle of shame! That's what I need! I'm so easily distracted...I went on the computer to try to make some progress on my pitiful word count, and here I am, browsing the forums instead.
If anyone wants to add me as a writing buddy, feel free to. I need all of the encouragement/shame/judgement that I can get!
Feel free to add me as a WriMo Buddy. The more the merrier! We're all trying to reach our goals and the more influence we have to get there the better chance we have and the high sense of accomplishment we will feel when we get there :)
I think I've failed in the attempts I've made since 2007 because there were WriMo accountability… so bring on the Shame Games! Feel free to add me as a buddy.

Oh, go ahead and add me as well. I'm so easily distracted, and I have way too much free time on my hands (who would have thought TEFL teachers would have so much time on their hands?), which you think would be perfect for writing a novel but NOPE. Instead I say, "Oh, I have pleeeenty of time to write later. Instead, I'm going to sit on YouTube and watch BBC panel shows." Then I don't write.
Those are things I like as well. I must admit that this is the first time participating in this, but I would love to be a writing buddy. As a fellow Harry Potter fan, I must ask if you've heard of Pottermore?
I'm 21 too (till November 5th), and I like all those things (except I never played RPGs).
It's my first time trying NaNoWriMo and I would like to have someone to talk to. English is not my native language nor my second language (those are Spanish and Catalan), but I hope that participating in NaNo and having some writing buddies helps me to practice/improve my rusty English.
I'd like someone to get to know and maybe share tips with. I'm writing an historical romance set in the 1920s this year.
I'm kind of a nerd. I play LOTRO and am probably going to be doing SWTOR when it comes out. I'm also a Browncoat. I like pretty much every super hero ever invented, I enjoy graphic novels and some manga. I love cartoons (not so much Family Guy though) and Tolkien. I'm engaged and hopefully will be having a Ren Fest weding next year. I also read and write romance novels. I'll be celebrating my 26th birthday in November and I live in Texas.
Hey everyone, please feel free to add me! I'm 24, live on the Canadian west coast, and love reading/writing, music, biking, and the outdoors in general.
There is a plot description of my novel this year on my page :)
Hey everyone! I'm a 22-year-old college student writing YA dystopian, which is a genre I've never actually written (usually I write YA high fantasy) so if you've written dystopian before and have any tips...I will love you forever. (Although, I have read a bit of dystopian, so I guess I'm probably not completely clueless.) I love reading (YA, historical fiction, English history books, epic fantasy), writing (duh, right?), procrastinating on my homework (which I'm doing right now), football (American - go Seahawks!), using lots and lots of parentheses (which you probably already figured out), and the Oxford comma.
I tweet, I blog, I email, I Google+, and I even open up AIM once a year during NaNo. Nice to meet you all =) *waves*
I'd love writing buddies! PM me and we can exchange information. I love having someone to talk to while I'm writing--it keeps me motivated and if I get stuck, then I can easily talk it through with someone. I'm willing to talk to anyone writing any genre, but I am writing fantasy if someone wants a specific genre to work with.
I'd love writing buddies too! I'm a SF/Fantasy would-be writer (yes, still hesitating on the genre). I'm mostly a 22 years old book-driven person (although I do enjoy a few TV Shows), procrastination-expert that lives in France. Please feel free to add me!

Agree with all of the above! I always feel weird when I'm "buddies" with somebody but don't interact with them at all. Totally awkward. :)

Re: Age Group: 20s Writing Buddies
And I'm writing a YA book about Faeries and a new race of mythical people, but it's not that weird, it is YA after all.
Re: Age Group: 20s Writing Buddies
AND! (Keep finding crap to add) I am 19, but that's close enough to 20 right? Right?
Interests
-Music
-Reading (both for pleasure and reviews)
-Sleeping
-Drinking Tea
And...writing, not that I think I need to say that here.

Yes I'm 21. It probably looks like I'm 14 or something! But alas, I'd love a pal who's close to my age and is someone I can relate to. :3

Re: Age Group: 20s Writing Buddies
I'd love writing buddies! PM me and we can exchange information. I love having someone to talk to while I'm writing--it keeps me motivated and if I get stuck, then I can easily talk it through with someone. I'm willing to talk to anyone writing any genre, but I am writing fantasy if someone wants a specific genre to work with.
Re: Age Group: 20s Writing Buddies
I'd love writing buddies too! I'm a SF/Fantasy would-be writer (yes, still hesitating on the genre). I'm mostly a 22 years old book-driven person (although I do enjoy a few TV Shows), procrastination-expert that lives in France.
Please feel free to add me!
