I'd like someone to get to know and maybe share tips with. I'm writing an historical romance set in the 1920s this year. I'm kind of a nerd. I play LOTRO and am probably going to be doing SWTOR when it comes out. I'm also a Browncoat. I like pretty much every super hero ever invented, I enjoy graphic novels and some manga. I love cartoons (not so much Family Guy though) and Tolkien. I'm engaged and hopefully will be having a Ren Fest weding next year. I also read and write romance novels. I'll be celebrating my 26th birthday in November and I live in Texas.

Hey everyone! I'm a 22-year-old college student writing YA dystopian, which is a genre I've never actually written (usually I write YA high fantasy) so if you've written dystopian before and have any tips...I will love you forever. (Although, I have read a bit of dystopian, so I guess I'm probably not completely clueless.) I love reading (YA, historical fiction, English history books, epic fantasy), writing (duh, right?), procrastinating on my homework (which I'm doing right now), football (American - go Seahawks!), using lots and lots of parentheses (which you probably already figured out), and the Oxford comma. I tweet, I blog, I email, I Google+, and I even open up AIM once a year during NaNo. Nice to meet you all =) *waves*

I'd love some more writing buddies! I'm a 20 year old girl in Massachusetts, and my hobbies are reading (books and comics), playing RPGs and editing the wikis for my favorite series. (I am such a super nerd and PROUD.) This is my third year doing NaNo, and my novel this year is a fantasy/romance story about a war-torn nation's princess/general and her relationship with her country and another girl from a foreign nation. Fangirl, geek (comic books and xBox), graphic designer, and fitness wench (I like my TurboFire). I'll be writing a monomyth this year; borderline fantasy/horror that might end up being too visceral to be YA, but with definite patterns of vamp-were-zombie genre fic. 21 year old writing buddy anyone? This is my first NaNo officially, but I've long known about this wonderful site and program in the past. This year I am making a great leap into fantasy, but the plot is still, well, in draft form. Mm, working out the kinks now. I also changed my word count goal (call me crazy) to 75K instead of the usual 50K. So hopefully things work out! If you have any questions, I'm a pretty open person and I love to talk. Me, too! I want a writing buddy! Double ditto the sentiment about getting to know someone and have regular contact with! We'll be like gym buddies - you motivate me, I motivate you, we take over the world. Easy peasy! For a little about myself, I'm Liz. I'm currently 24 years old but will be turning 25 during the lovely NaNo event, just like every year. I'm a pseudo-adult with a job and bills, but that doesn't stop me from trying to reach that 50k mark! I'm not sure what I'll be writing this year, I have this strong urge to scarp all of my previous NaNo projects (that having nothing to do with each other) and combining them some how. The end result will probably look like a dystopian, post-apocalyptic, fantastical, supernatural sci/fi. But that's if I can pull it off. Aliens? You betcha. Time travel? Yep. Angels? Mmhmm. Demons? Everywhere. Gene-splicing? Bring on the zombie-mutants. Magic? Poof. Space travel? It's the only way. In other words, I need some serious help with the un-jumbling. But this is not all about me - oh no! In return I can offer ridiculously long emails of encouragement. Cookies. Rubber-like qualities to bounce ideas off of. A whip, when there is a need for it. Cookies. Music playlists to encourage the words to floweth. And did I mention cookies?

Hello there! I feel like October is always the start of the new Nano-'school' year - now's the time to see who's in your class and start making new friends! I'm from Massachusetts and this will be my first year not writing a ya fantasy novel. It feels a little weird to find myself not loitering about the fantasy forum (though I do plan on visiting it), so I thought I'd branch out and meet some people my own age! If you want to bounce ideas, I'm your girl. The novel I plan on writing this year is about a girl who graduates into a piss-poor economy (sound familiar, anyone?) and decides to open up a food truck, even though she has no professional cooking experience. She learns a lot about life, love, and the food industry in a very short period of time. It's a trail by grease fire and a coming of age story.

Oooh, writing buddy! That sounds fun! So we'll be friends with similar interests as well as probably a real strong urge to complain about our books in progress that we actually love deep down below... and buddies complain about stuffs together, yes? ;o I'm twenty-two, living in Highlands Ranch. I love certain musicals, listening to less than mainstream music, playing StarCraft and World of WarCraft, watching TV shows after they'd been out for a while, having a slight addiction to BBCAmerica and the Food Network, and reading. I may also stalk my Twitter and Facebook, love to have 10+ tabs open in Google Chrome, so the best way to make sure I'm there is to poke me on one of those. My novel this year is officially going to be... a fiction. I believe. It could turn into romance with a touch of supernatural, all depending on how Celeb and Evelyn feel, or just how badly I need to insert life into the story. I have a backup novel that involves creating a new world, medieval-magical fantasy, grand scale war, and a group of heroes. Hey all! I would love to have a writing buddy! Im 20 (will be 21 when Nano starts) from Ottawa, Ontario and currently attending school here. Last year was my first year finishing nano, and i did well because I was motivated (competition!). I love music, movies, tv, games, sports, books and whatever else, chat doesnt always have to be nano :P As far as my novel goes I have to decide between a superhero idea, something fantasy or something scifi, all my ideas are kindof in the early stages and I don't know how to develop them. I really need the extra motivation as I have a horrible habit is that i'm easily sidetracked. I've got three different plot ideas this year (I normally only have 1), and there all different genres (fantasy, mystery, not sure what the other would go under) so i'm not really sure what I will be writing. I'm interested in some writing buddies. Why not? Normally I'm not too big on these because there's never a lot of communication (It happened with Script Frenzy.) So, I'd like like to not only talk about writing/motivation with people, but also chatting about other stuff, maybe make some pals along this journey. I’d love a writing buddy too, or several. :) The more the merrier. I’m 25, from Belgium and write mostly fantasy (all kinds), although I can appreciate any genre. This is my first year and I’d like some people to talk to, no matter if it is about NaNo or something random that just popped into your head. I have a lot of free time on my hands, so I can talk/mail as often as you like. I’m not good at the tough love kind of encouragement, but I can do the brainstorming, soundboard, patting your back accompanied by words of comfort. OMG I would love some buddies!!! I'm 22 and I live in LA. Last year was my first official nanowrimo win and I'm super proud. Last year I wrote a prequel to Peter Pan told though the eyes of a young Captain Hook who started as a lost boy before "adult emotions" like lust, grief and loathing made him age into a pirate. I am in the process of my fourth draft now before I send it off to try and publish. However, in november I plan to take a break to write something different. I am going to do a novel about a small town midwest girl who moves to LA, gets robbed while she's out here and can't go home. She falls into the arms of the porn industry who love cute and desperate women. After making just enough money in a web cam room to buy her plane ticket home, she's presented with the issue of staying to make her fortune in the industry of sin, or going home to probably run a chicken farm. It's a little out of my normal genre of punk-fantasy but it will be fun. if you want send me a PM and I'd love to chat more <3

I'm definitely in the market for writing buddies! Multiple! I'm 22, and I just graduated college with a degree in Creative Writing. Unfortunately, I've let myself get lazy over the summer and writing hasn't exactly been my first priority, so I decided I'd force my muse back into action with NaNo. I'm looking for people to just chat with, bounce ideas off of, and basically keep me from going completely and totally insane. I'm a music lover (I like eclectic stuff, everything from traditional Celtic to Regina Spektor to Celine Dion to Evanescence), love reading (of course), and my life was defined for many years by a raging obsession with Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean. That has faded (it's now more like an old-friend obsession that I can pick up with enthusiasm whenever I encounter it), but I still know more about both than is probably considered healthy. I have many other mini-obsessions that span Doctor Who, NCIS, Tamora Pierce books, Sarah Dessen, Gilmore Girls, and I'm flirting with starting a Big Bang Theory themed life soon. I love writing a lot of literature texts like the short stories, the novels, the poetry, the esays. I don´t wirte in english, i´m from Colombia and i write in spanish. There is no doubt that this NaNoWriMo is going to be great. I expect that all the writers make his best work. And don´t give up before you try! Have the correctly words every day is not easy, but the life is full of details that can wake up your imagination or your word talent.

I'm 21 (22 on the final day of NaNo). I pretty much break every stereotype of writing being that I'm not a nerd/geek. I'm a prep and student athlete that's majoring in anthropology and comes from a family of scientists, so that's definitely more how I think. I'd love to meet to new writing friends :) I do most of my dithering on twitter, nanomail and MSN. Mostly twitter though, so I feel sorry for my non-wrimo followers during November! I'd like to make some lasting writing friendships too if we mesh well :) I'm a 27 year old Aussie girl. I love reading, writing, etymology, geek culture, social networking, blogging, archaeology, art, the environment, culture and anthropology. I'm writing a dystopian this year, and for the first time I plan to attempt an adult protagonist. It has only just hit me that I tend to write with a YA tone and have teenage girl protagonists. The change should be interesting, to say the least. I'd love to meet buddies I can have discussions with that could knock some ideas free, and to help motivate me to reach my target. I like to have long rambling conversations and hope I could provide the same benefits. This is only my second nano, and it comes after nearly ten years of denial and fractured belief in my writing skills. I'm Celine, 20, currently living in Southampton, UK, but originally from France. This is my second time doing NaNoWriMo, and who knows, maybe I'll win this time. This November I am going to write a Vampire Diaries slash Fanfiction. Not my favorite TV Show, Doctor Who actually holds that title, but I read a Fanfic that I found so good that I wanted to keep the universe it was set in. I love reading (horror, romance, classics...), I procrastinate way too much and I watch too many TV Shows (Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sherlock, The Big Bang Theory, Grey's Anatomy, True Blood, Bones...). Hey! Last year was an epic fail. I got sick halfway through Nano and pretty much slept my way through the second half. I'm looking for writing buddies who want to chat back and forth about the novels. I find plotting with other people helpful to my muse because I've been in the rp world for so long. My favorite novels are fantasy and thus I'm writing fantasy novels. However I do enjoy Sci-Fi, Historical Fiction, poetry and classic literature as well. I'm 27, married and have two cats and a leukemia positive kitten I'm fostering till she can be retested in Dec. I work at a Veterinary Clinic as a kennel assistant. I roleplay on RPG forums, I love to read, and I'm a sucker for Paranormal/Supernatural stories. Omg... that sounds so cool! The map thing. I'm a visuals-geared kind of girl, too so I be that if I was in the same situation, I'd probably at least try to make an entire world map. I miss reading books with maps, even though, for the reader, it seemed kind of tedious to have to flip back the the map. But then again, if a map was present, I did tend to get more into the world and paid more attention. I think it's kind of like listening to a record instead of a CD. Just recently bought a few records and sat down in front of the record player and just listened and let my thoughts run wild. Great experience. I can say that I never knew what people were going on about, just sitting around and only listening to music. But with records, you want to listen. CDs or MP3s is just background noise (sometimes pleasant)... but a record? that's an experience in and of itself. Now... if only I knew why I was going on and on about records when you just casually mentioned your map... .

Sooo, having failed totally to do anything with my buddy list last year I'm hoping to rectify the situation this year. Feel free to add me, message me, give me a million pounds, anything you like. This year I'm working on an adventure story, because I departed from the genre last year into some sort of hazy literary fiction type world and was sad that I couldn't get my characters struck by lightening whenever I hit a dull patch. So this year there will be thievery, there will be daring escapes from the law, and there will be bananas. When I'm not writing novels (which is a surprising amount of the time) I try to be outdoors; whitewater kayaking, hiking, biking. Since that fails a lot of the time I also watch TV and play video games, as one does. I'm from England, in case you didn't recognise the accent.

Same here! I think I had exactly one buddy who actually talked to me last year. It's just weird having buddies but not talking to them at all. So if anyone wants to be buddies, just message me! I'm not sure which plot I'm writing yet, but there will be urban fantasy. No vampires or werewolves. :) I wouldn't mind a snail-mail pen pal either - I'm in Germany.

This is my first year doing NaNo so I'll need all the love and help and support and happiness that you guys can give. I'm dropping myself in on the Lit Fic department this year, because that's how I like to do things. I'd love some writing buddies! This is my first NaNo (kinda, signed up before but never got very far at all) and I definitely could use the support/motivation. I tend to get way to into whether or not my writing is 'perfect' and that anxiety has stopped me from writing for far too long. That said, I've been writing since I was little and my dad was a reporter when I was growing up so I guess you could say words are in my blood. About me: I'm 23, will be 24 mid NaNo. I have four cats and a pet rat. I have two part time jobs. Luckily they are flexible time-wise and will allow me more writing time than a 9-5er. I studied psychology and art in college before having to leave due to financial aid issues :( I only have 9-12 months left before graduating so I'm hoping to be back in classes by next summer. I like reading most genres and some of my favorite authors are Augusten Burrough, David Sedaris, and Kurt Vonnegut. I love baking and cooking, though I don't get to do either nearly enough! Oh, and I'm a girl, if that matters!

I'm 23, a college graduate whose looking both for real work and filling out grad school apps (meanwhile I work retail and keep crazy hours). I'm writing something probably best described as lit fic but I love supernatural / horror , mystery, suspense, fantasy, and certain fandoms. Mostly I just love writing, unless its you know, about a sparkly vampire and a werewolf fighting over a girl... *cough* I'M SORRY. I had to. But really anything that came from a place, "what if this happened?" tends to tickle my fancy. I am one of those who still adores AIM and uses it religiously. Hey there! I’m 25, turning 26 in November, and live in Australia. I’m a chronic procrastinator, so having a few Nano buddies would go a long way towards keeping me on track. The good news is I’m also an appalling hypocrite, so if anyone wants to form a mutual nagging pact it’ll probably do us both good. My favourite genres to read are crime and thrillers, but I’ll be having a go at writing fantasy this year despite being relatively unfamiliar with it. Coming from a legal background (and developing a good deal of cynicism about it along the way), you can expect plenty of subtext about past crimes, forgiveness vs punishment and the pitfalls of judging others. If that hasn’t put you off (and even if it has), feel free to message me! Non-fantasy writers are more than welcome... as are fantasy writers.

Does your love of Joss Whedon extend to Dollhouse or just BTVS? I have to admit, I had a hard time getting into Buffy (mostly because I couldn't stand the main character), but I absolutely adore Dollhouse. Definitely helped by the fact that Faith was one of my favorite characters in BTVS and Eliza Dushku plays the lead in Dollhouse.

Hi! First time NaNoer here looking for writing buddies. I'm 25, female, from Finland. I read and write mostly fantasy, always found the genre easiest to approach for whatever reason, but I'm open to almost anything if it has some cool characters. I've been writing stories pretty much ever since I learned to write, and my goal is to get something published in the hopefully not too distant future. My main project is what I'm aiming to polish into publishing shape, but I want to use NaNo to take a shot at another concept that I can't in any way integrate into my main project but that I still feel is worth exploring. I'm also a music junkie. I love going to gigs, and I'm always listening to music if at all possible in any given situation. I'd be thrilled if we had even remotely similar music taste - not a deal breaker of course, but really, I can't be the only metal fan on the entire board?

I just moved in August, and I don't remember how to make friends. I mean, it's not like I'm totally alone - I'm living with my boyfriend's sister, her husband, and their roommate, but all the people I know down here are my boyfriend and his family and two of his friends.... I'm writing a young adult novel set in 2036. It starts off in America but then it goes to Africa (I so want to go there someday). Hopefully it turns out okay, but after a certain point I don't know what's going to happen, which scares me slightly...

Hi! I'm 28, and live in North Dakota. Would love to have some writing buddies to chat with during NaNo while I struggle with both the novel and the impending crazy winter. I work full time doing User Acceptance Testing at a software company, and part time retail for the holidays. Needless to say, finding time is always fun. :) I'm essentially a huge nerd - the other day, I got stuck in a youtube loop about non-Newtonian fluids. I'm a Nerdfighter, a Harry Potter fan, an occasional gamer (it's a good thing I don't have an XBox 360, or a powerful enough PC... or Skyrim would ruin any chance at winning NaNo as the Bethesda games are generally horridly addicting to me). I'm currently reading 'Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell' by Susanna Clarke and enjoying it so far. My novel has no plot or characters developed to this point - I'm a seat of the pants kind of writer. I usually end up writing some combination between YA and Literary Fiction. It would be fun to have buddies that do actually interact, to share encouragement and bounce ideas off of or push each other when it gets tough. :)

So I'm 19, married and turning 20 in November. I would really like a writing buddy who isn't in high school, so if anyone is interested? I'm really into sci-fi/fantasy and post apocolyptic adventure-romance type stuff. I also like mystery and suspense. I used to be really into slash, but now I just really love anything with a good plot and unique characters to keep me interested. I love AdventureTime, Glee, and cop dramas as far as TV goes. I'm currently planning a sci-fi/fantasy/adventure/romance in a college setting. It involves a lot of drugs, making out, spaceships, and homework that never gets done. I am 20 and unmarried. I live in Texas and love a variety of genres of books. I watch geek tv (Jeopardy, Castle, Warehouse 13, Criminal Minds, ect) and listen to most types of music. I'm 19 years old and just about a junior in college, majoring in English and considering a Creative Writing minor. I love to read and write, but sadly haven't been doing a lot of either (that wasn't school-related) since starting college last fall. I'm pretty sure I've been planning on doing NaNo every November for the past several years and never got very far at all. I think having a buddy would help would with that... I need some buddies to help me decide which story I should write this year....and to help me stay on track. I'm 28, a full-time grad student, full-time nanny for four kids, and a full-time writer. I won NaNo in 2007, the only year I attempted it because of time, but I am excited to start again this year. I have hundreds of story ideas, and picking one to work on next month is turning out to be a chore! I love to travel, read, write, draw, paint, swim, play baseball, and geocache! I'm originally from upstate New York and have lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Pittsburgh, PA, and am now near Philadelphia in PA. I volunteer at an animal rescue in my spare time and procrastinate on my writing by browsing through names and playing mystery games on my iPhone. Yes, I'm definitely in the "need a kick in the pants to get ish done" group. A writing buddy would be excellent, and a real, non-awkward-faux one at that! I'm 27 and have a bunch of real world responsibilities, but really that's just an excuse to not write! This is my first year of NaNo, so I'm kinda confused where everything is on the website, but I'm contactable through email/AIM/twitter/snail mail and you may even convince me to join skype. I'm in the Eastern US Timezone if that makes a difference. When it's not 1:43 am on a weeknight, I'll go through this thread and try to see if I any matches. Buddies are a two way street, right?! Oh, if it's any consequence, I'm being a nerd and writing a fanfiction based on Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. It takes place after the movie, with flashbacks to pre-movie. I've already written the first chapter in my mind, and I can't wait for 12:00 am Nov 1st to write it all down on paper! Whoa, I talk too much, lol. I think I'd love a writing buddy. Being unemployed leaves me with way too much time on my hands (I am looking for a job though, promise!!) and being a night owl often leads to me becoming a bit of a hermit with my British friends. Like other people though I'd love a buddy that wants to talk about more than just NaNo or even just talk at all. I'm 21, from the UK, but happy to chat to anyone from other areas of the world. My novel's a supernatural/thriller/romance/ erotica type... thing. I'm not 100% sure yet but I'll figure it out eventually. It seems like I've shoved my favourite genres into one story. okay, so, i would love a writing buddy or two (or three or four or five...you get the picture). i have absolutely NO plot and time is running out! i have zero ideas. zero character ideas. i need help!! i'm beginning to lose hope of even doing this. a little about me: -i'm 26 -my name is stephanie -i'm a teacher with kids with autism -i'm in grad school getting my masters degree in mental health counseling -i live in richmond, va -i love indie rock music -i love reading...multiple books at once, mostly, because i am indecisive and have book-ADD and can never make up my mind what i want to read! so i alternate between books. hahaha. -i love jesus -i love potato salad, too. -i am scatterbrained and sometimes that shows up in my writing. i go off on tangents, am long-winded, and have difficulty with making good solid transitions between one thought to the next, or one paragraph to the next. i also write almost purely in dialogue format for some reason. i do so much better when writing conversation-style. a challenge of mine is describing scenery, background, details, character development... haha, now i'm starting to wonder if i'm a good writer at all? that leads me to my second point... -i constantly second-guess myself. :P -i've participated in nanowrimo only once before, in 2007. i didn't make it to 50k but the good thing is i'm still working on said novel. and it's progressing quite nicely, if i do say so myself. :) -okay, enough about me. your turn! :)

Ok, so first thing about me is that I'm not actually in my twenties. I'm a seventeen year old freshmen in college. I am studying bio chemistry with a minor in french. The main reason I came to this forum was because the teen branch did not seem like the right place to find real constructive criticism with my novel. I'm looking for quality peer review and support. I write a lot of sci-fi, and love to build worlds. I love to debate and learn from other people. I don't watch a whole lot of TV. I like to read and surf the internet in my free time. Meh needs a buddy. I live in Seattle so Pacific Standard time. I'm going to be doing most of my writing on in the afternoon/evenings of weekdays and any time on the weekends. I am intending to write a YA or Standard Fiction novel, just depends on how frisky and risque I intend to make this. Don't know yet. I'm 26, and this novel is going to be heavily influenced by my past. Novel is going to be about a teen drug addict. I'm intending a first person perspective with alternating perspective between the addict and her sister. I'm very geeky, and probably going to be dragging my laptop with me everywhere so that when inspiration strikes I can plop down and let the words spew out. I would love a buddy who is either writing a similar story, lives on the west coast, or just wants some one to chat with to work out plot issues.

This year is going to be a bit harder, my grandpa used to always tell a story called Lollipop Cloud (it changed everytime and never made much sense), he passed away this year. I'm Emily, 25 years old! This is my 3 or 4th year doing NaNo -I took a 4 year break to finish college, start life and will do a 2-3 year break most likely cause I'm moving to somewhere in Africa sometime this spring. This year I'm doing a set of connected short stories focusing on mythological figures being reborn into modern society. Hi everyone. I'm actually 18, but I believe my novel might be suited for an older audience which is why I'm posting here. I write mostly fantasy and science fiction. ( Btw I should note that for this NanoWriMo my goal is to get much farther on my already novel of 5 years. I posted this in the all-ages coffee house. I'm also posting it here because I find I tend to get along best with people in this age group, although it is not technically my own. I'm actually quite irked that age is the defining factor for a lot of these boards. I don't actually get along with a lot of people my own age. I am the turtle. This is my 8th nano. I have won the past 6 in a row and I (mostly) know what I'm doing. I do not care how old you are, where you are from, your gender or your genre. Hello everyone! My name is Casey, I am 22 years old, and this is my first NaNoWriMo attempt. I'm a senior geography student at UCLA (oh yay I get to enter the real world in less than a year!) I was seriously considering not doing nano because UCLA is on the quarter system so some midterms, all my papers, and some finals all occur during November, I work 20 hours a week and I have a time consuming blog to run. But hey, I've always thought I sleep too much anyways, so I think I'll give this a try! Its hard to say what kind of genre my novel would fall under - probably YA, but possibly not. I only say YA adult because the main character is 17-years-old. Anyways, since that may not be very helpful in the whole letting you get to know me thing, I'll let you know who some of my favorite authors are: Aimee Bender, Ray Bradbury, Jack London (read The Sea Wolf, I beg of you), and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I also like photography, fashion, camping, long walks on the beach, candle-lit dinners, blah blah blah. So yeah, I could totally use a writing buddy for some much-needed nagging, support, and hopefully some laughs.

I have wasted the past fifteen minutes trying to invent some clever line with which to introduce myself and have failed miserably. So, to be blunt: HELLO, WORLD. I meant to write this earlier. As in "the wee hours just after the site relaunch" earlier. But I procrastinated and-- honestly, procrastination does not make an interesting story. Allow me to move on. I'm 21 and prone, more often than not, to forget how old I am. (I'm reminded of Lois Lowry's The Giver and how age was considered irrelevant after one turned 12. Indeed - I think I may safely blame The Giver for all those awkward moments when I can't remember my age.) I'm a liberal arts undergraduate and second year German student. I like to crochet and voice act. I adore the written word (... let us not remark on the obviousness of that comment), but at present, I enjoy listening to books more than I like sitting down with their hardcopy counterparts. Audiobooks and recorded lectures are the current loves of my existence. The fixation comes and goes, however; there are times when I would give anything to feel the pages of a book beneath my fingers, the weight and spine of some door-stopping tome in my palm. I welcome any and all writing buddies. But in particular, I'm looking for writers who are interested in conversation and lengthy emails - pen/email pals, you could say, with strong stomachs for rambling letters and five hundred word tangents about anything and everything, and who would be more than happy to send their own long-winded epistles. I want to get back into the practice of writing things other than fiction and academic essays. My NaNo for this year is nominally fantasy. Or horror. Hello, everyone! My name is Autumn, and I am 25. I am happily married, and homemaking in New Hampshire... if by homemaking you mean that I do not have a job and occasionally do the dishes. So I have tons of time to chat with you about your novel (or mine) and can remind you at 2 in the morning that you have not lost your mind and that this whole things is worthwhile after all. This is my first NaNoWriMo, and I can already tell you that I am going to be an emotional wreck. I tend to second guess myself into a complete standstill, so I may need your encouragement to move forward, but I am absolutely devoted to winning! As with most artists, I am terribly sensitive about my writing, so I will try to be honest without wounding your creative soul if you ask for a critique. I am writing a young adult, coming-of-age novel, and I can't decide whether to add a magical component or not! My favorite fiction to read is usually magical, but I'm not sure whether that's what I'm made of or not. Perhaps I'm drawn to it because it tempers my more realistic tendencies... or maybe I'm shying away from it because I'm scared I'll turn into one of those writers that try to channel J. K. Rowling. In the words of Lionel Richie: Hello, is it me you're looking for... My name is HR, and I'm a quarter of a century old. Makes me seem older when I say it that way. Anyway, this will make my fifth time (and hopefully fifth win) doing Nano, though I've been writing for much longer - since I was eleven. The reason that I write is because, if I don't, then I start going insane because of the visions that I have. My muse looks like John Keats... and he never knows when to back off and leave me alone... especially at work, when I have the strongest temptation to stop whatever it is I'm doing and start writing. I'm a little mad that way. Then again, in the words of Anthony Perkins, "We all go a little mad sometimes..." This year, I am going to write an adventure/fantasy/romance story. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I can't write anything without having some kind of romance in it. Anyway, the novel is about a sword fighting girl by the name of Amamay who lives in a castle in Oseru with her sisters and father. Those of Oseru are normally priests/priestesses and a peace loving type, which was what Ama's mother was. Her father is originally from Gehune, which is on the other side of the Terdanog Territory, near the Kroohan Islands. He pretty much gave up his right as a prince so he could marry his priestess. When he learns that his brother, who rules Gehune, has died, he knows that he can't make the journey there, so he begs Ama, who up until that point didn't know that she was of royalty. She is supposed to leave alone, since her sisters can't fight (and she doesn't have any brothers). Her three sisters - two of which are priestesses - travel along after her. Along the way, a boat load of stuff happens, including running into a witch who is actually the one responsible for the ruler of Gehune's death. I'm developing this as I go, mainly with help of the visions I get at the oddest times of the day... I would love to befriend someone who isn't close minded. Seeing as everyone here writes, well, that doesn't really help to narrow anything down. But, hey, the more the merrier!

Hey! My name is Nina, 22 years young an I'm always looking for new buddies. I'm from the Netherlands and it's my 2½th (3rd if you count camp NaNo as a whole) time participating in NaNoWriMo. I'm still trying to find out if i'll be writing my novel in Dutch or English this year. I (almost) always write in English so it would be a bit of a challenge to write it in Dutch this time.. But anyway, I'm still a student and at the start of a new term I got enough time for NaNo (no tests and stuff). Last year I got to 50k in 2 weeks and stopped after that because I wasn't really motivated anymore.. So this year I'm searching buddies to keep me motivated :D My novel is about.. ehm.. I wanted to write about fairytales (which I thought up myself) but I didn't think it would reach the 50k that way. So now I'm gonna write about a world in which people are genetically altered to have animal parts, the rich people because it's fashionable and the poorest to function as labrats. And.. there's also a pub in which an old guy tells unknown fairytales (yes, there they are again). Or something like that.. I think.. :P (it might change again if I think of something else before NaNo starts though..)

I've attempted to write a book dozens of times but always read over what I've done over and over and over and get disheartened. However I've heard the way to get better is to practice so I'm going to try and get to 50k this year and then I'm going to start over again until my writing resembles something that I would actually like to read :L I'd really like some writing buddies to give me a push and to mutually gush about how awesome our novels will be. I'm a big fantasy genre reader but having read in a wider spectrum of books I think that I am most suited to/the only plots I have are for a more chick lit book. Hi everyone! I know it's getting down to the eleventh hour, but I only just found this post today. I'm 22 and I'm fairly new to Nano (read: I've said I'd do it for 5 years in a row and never even started.) Last year I made progress and signed up for an account - and then promptly forgot to prepare and was sad on November 5th when I remembered I was supposed to be nano-ing. This year, I WILL FINISH! But I need your help! But first, a little about me. I just graduated from university with a Bachelor's in Music Performance (if your novel has need of random classical music facts, I would be glad to act as a reference). I've been coming up with stories all my life but only started writing them down a few years ago. To make up for that, I read everything I can get my hands on. I'm a sci-fi/fantasy kind of gal, and this year I've decided to write a novel just barely to the fantasy side of the spectrum with lots of steampunk and sci-fi thrown in, all based around the phrase "Transdimensional Lending Library." This is where you come in. As I'm new(ish) to writing my stories down, I have this annoying habit of editing as I write. I need a writing buddy who will hold me accountable for my word count and force me to focus on moving forward. I tend to be very conscientious about writing long and detailed replies to email or NanoMail. I'm Megan, I'm 23, and I hail from the northern corner of the US (Western Washington, to be a little more precise). This year's novel is a sort of supernatural/suspense/mystery idea, which is pretty different from what I normally write (I tend to hop between fantasy and slice-of-life) so I'm a little nervous about it. BUT I actually have (most of) an outline this year, so hopefully this will help it go well. :D I'm in my first year of college and I'm planning on majoring in Japanese. Oh, neat! Didn't know this was here! =D Hello! I'm Bat. I am 25 and live in NYC. This is my very first year doing NaNo and while I'm nervous, I'm pretty excited all the same. My writing tends to yield to more darker tones of angst and can be kind of disturbing if I don't rein myself in a bit. Despite that, I'm actually pretty friendly and easy to get along with. My NaNo novel is a mystery/thriller that involves pretty dark story elements and my main character is a lesbian. I've never written anything remotely close to 50,000 words (hell, I've never even written something that came close to 8,000 words) so this will be a major challenge to me. I'm HIGHLY prone to procrastination and would really appreciate a few people to poke me whenever it seems I begin to lag. I'm pretty open-minded and prefer people who are the same. My hobbies/interests tend to reside in fanfiction, Harry Potter, anime/manga, horror movies and books, science, and various tv shows like Doctor Who (new!Who only, so far), Glee, Being Human (UK), Chopped, Ghost Adventures, iCarly, and Victorious (I know, I know - the last two are kid shows, but I have an 8 year old sister and once you give them a chance, they're really good shows). I wouldn't mind someone who wanted to discuss one of the subjects on the side (because we have lives beyond writing, kind of - lol). =)

I'm 27, I live in NYC, and this'll be my first year attempting NaNoWriMo. Up until now, I've only written short stories, and one teleplay--so it's difficult for me to even fathom producing 50,000 words in one month. Which is sort of why I'd like to give it a try. I have a tendency to procrastinate, and my biggest fear is that I might give up in the middle of the month when real life starts getting in the way--if you're the same way, let's hold each other accountable for our writing. I'd be happy to read your work in progress and exchange critiques--or we could just exchange word counts every day to egg each other on. I'm a fan of literary fiction, as well as sci-fi, horror, speculative fiction, and well-written thrillers. I'm not entirely sure what I'll be writing about this month--hopefully I'll have decided on something by Tuesday!

I'm with you! In the past I've only had one or two people who actually talked to me through out the month and none that kept in touch afterward. I'm hoping to be able to work on my novel this year (though there's a lot going on in my life right now, so I'm not sure how much writing I"ll actually get done) and I'd love to have other NaNo-ers to talk with through it! I'd love some writing buddies, and someone to bounce work/ideas off of! I'm up to my tail in this year's story and I could use the encouragement! My NaNovel: It's the story of Captain Bobby Macintosh's time behind enemy lines spying for the Allies in the SS during WWII. His mission is find out the chain of command of the SS and what the Nazis are doing with the concentration camps. He finds out something strange though: Hitler's looking for Lycanthropy. And even stranger? He seems to have found it. Basically this story is a conspiracy theory that could be totally true or the ravings of a crazy man. It's a character study dressing up as historical/supernatural fiction. yeah. I could use some encouraging.

I'm 20, and this is my second but still kinda my first NaNo considering I only kept writing for about 2 days last year. By hand. So this kind of shows how much in the need of a buddy I am. I work at Disneyland Paris, I am swedish but speak French and English fluently so no language barriers here. My novel is an adventure set in a fantasy world. Not much magic, no elves nor dwarfs, some tiny bit of magic maybe but mostly it's a road trip and a story about friendship. Involves ass kicking and saving the world. Wellllll... since I want a writing buddy for all of November... posting this now is still totally valid and cool. Totally. I'm 20, from L.A. but currently studying in Tokyo for the year. I am normally, ah, a pantser? Sort of? Except I don't even make up a plot as I go along, I have characters that I like and write about until I'm bored with them. I do write a lot outside of NaNo so my challenge isn't actually the quantity of words: I want to keep to a plot. I actually have a plot for this year (I'm not behind on that part) which is kind of... um... historical hijacking? It's a conglomeration of the founding myths of Czechoslovakia, Poland and Russia with the Long March in China and some Japanese architecture and culture... yeah. I guess a sort of adventure fantasy dealio although there's no magic or fairies or anything fun like that. So I've got the plot but I desperately want to keep to it. Please assist! I'm not very good with the whole real-time chatting (and there seems to be very few people in this part of the world...) but I'd be good at long nanomails back and forth. So if you'd prefer to have long rambling letters of procrastination and encouragement, I'd be good for you! Really honest!

I'm looking to get in with some folks my age since I've never really been part of a close-knit writing group, and I feel like it would be beneficial while I'm panicking all through November. I work full-time as an admin assistant at an engineering company (kind of a snoozefest), and it's pretty draining on me creatively by the end of the day. I've participated before under a different username but didn't have any buddies over there because I'm normally too shy to speak up but I pledged to make this year different! I'm Carrot, 27, out of Ohio. I'm writing in horror this year because the supernatural always seems to creep into my stories. Hi everybody! My name's Charamy, this is my... fourth Nano, I think, and hopefully this one I will complete (I am now unemployed, I have no excuse... right?). I'm 25, a UF grad-grad, and am still pondering the plot of my story (I'm thinking fantasy/parallel universe type thing?). I usually enjoy reading fantasy/sci-fi novels, etc, singing, playing and listening to music, watching films, and being with friends when I can. I recently had surgery and had to recuperate for a few weeks, so Battlestar Galactica was definitely my savior. I also enjoy playing video games (heavily addicted to Dragon Age: Origins as of late, and anxiously awaiting Assassin's Creed: Revelations). Hi! This is the first time I have ever done NaNoWriMo. I had never even heard of it before today. I "like" Richelle Mead on facebook (author of The Vampire Academy Series) and she posted today about November being the National Novel Writing Month. I have always thought about writing a novel, so I thought this would be the perfect time to start! I am 21 years old and live in Iowa. I go to college and have my AA degree, but not sure what I want to major in yet. I spend most of my free time reading, listening to music, and watching tv. Right now I'm watching Dancing With The Stars, The Ringer, Psych, Supernatural, and Being Erica (I have to watch this online though, since it only airs in Canada now). My favorite singer is Ryan Star! :) I love to read all genres of books, so I'm not sure what I want to write about yet. I'm a twenty-year-old college student from Texas and crunch time is just around the corner, so I'm sure I could use the encouragement as time goes on--again, I'd be very happy to do the same for someone else. My story is a fantasy about a half-faerie (more like Tolkien's elves than little winged people) girl who, having no idea just what her heritage really is, runs into a band of Fair Folk and gets caught in a conflict between the Seelie and Unseelie courts. Quick and dirty: I'm 22, recently out of school, taking 'time off' (I have a job) before grad school, and decided I'm going to write this novel. I wrote 70000+ words and scrapped it all (not in NaNo). Basically, I want to come out of this with a rough draft that doesn't make me want to throw it all away again! I'm writing fantasy/supernatural type story. This is a non-Western based fantasy involving witches, snake people, and vengeful gods on a power trip. I would really like a buddy who is familiar with world-building! Also, I would like a buddy who is okay with themes that involve religious criticism (there's a cult involved). My story is also not romance heavy, but there is some hinting at both hetero and homo sexual couples, but since this isn't romance centric, it's pretty tame stuff. Any way, just let me know you've added me, and I'll probably be around 2-3 times a week. I tend to do large email dumps, but there could be some chats at well!

I could use some writing buddies! I've never done NaNoWriMo before and wasn't planning on doing it this year until I thought a few days ago, "Isn't that in November?" So obviously I am not at all prepared. My favorite genres are horror and dark fantasy. I love fairy tales, the macabre, the absurd and surreal. My favorite authors are people like Neil Gaiman, Kelly Link, Joe Hill (mostly his short stories) and Joe Lansdale. My favorite filmmakers are Tim Burton, Sam Raimi, Guy Maddin, Steven Spielberg, Tarsem Singh, Billy Wilder, Dario Argento, Mario Bava, Bob Fosse, and Jan Svankmeyer. I love Hollywood classics, particularly horror movies and musicals. I have a few ideas for novels I've been toying around with for years, but as they all seem to require some kind of structure I have not mapped out yet I decided, perhaps foolishly, to try my hand at a weird Western. I have no idea what the plot will be but I imagine it as sort of like the Brothers Grimm meets Sergio Leone. I'm excited to see where it will lead. Anyone who feels a kinship with my sensibilities and wants someone to bounce ideas off of, work out plot points with, etc. can shoot me a message. Hi all. I'm working on sorta surreal sitcom'ish collection of short stories. I intend for them to be dark, and mildly silly. I'm usually on the computer most of the day, but it's best to catch me after 8pm. That's when I'm most productive and able to have an intellectual conversation for some reason. Okay, a little more about me, because I wasn't really paying attention when I wrote my initial post, I was having to play nurse for my dear boyfriend who is recovering from surgery... My real name is Kristin, and this is my third year doing NaNoWriMo. I fully intend on winning again this year, and I think this novel may possibly be awesome enough to publish! Last years' was pretty cool too, but a little more superficial. I'm 25, a dance instructor and substitute teacher, and kinda a weirdo. 26 year old IT auditor and grad school student from NJ, this is my 4th Nano Attempt, and hopefully my 4th year winning, took off last year because it was just too much between school, work, school work, and the travel for work. I write chic lit, YA and cyber punk/dystopia-themed stuff. I consider my writing style to be a hybrid of lauren weisberger, dan brown and chuck palhniuk and am always looking for new writing buddies. What can I bring to the table? I have been a beta for several writers and can speed read. This means if you need a sanity check, I can help in record time. If your story has an international location or involves travel I can offer advice on where to get the chocolate in Brazil, coffee in Helsingborg, which metro to take to get to Versailles or go shopping in Sydney since I travel 40% of the year. Hey everybody! I plan on seeing if I can respond to anyone who has already posted.. but just in case... I'm 24 on the 8th and I'm writing a Fantasy novel that I've been dreaming of writing for years. I've basically got most of the characters developed and the setting, etc... Now I just need the story! Hahaha... I have an idea of what is going to happen, but I'm still just.. cusping on getting the 50,000 words out of me! This is my first year participating in NaNoWriMo and I would love a writing buddy! I am a 26 year old librarian from Missouri. I went to the University of Missouri-Columbia (Go Tigers!) where I got a degree in biochemistry and later a masters in Public Health. What does this have to do with being a librarian? Very little, actually. I'm an avid reader and my personal challenge this year was 30 books (which I just recently surpassed). I also blog (heardaroundthestacks.wordpress.com) and tweet (@aroundthestacks). I'm definitely a science nerd, but I also enjoy being creative (photography, screenprinting, writing short stories, baking). This year for NaNoWriMo, I am writing a YA novel about a "fungus gone wrong." I figured that after seeing what all the young adults check-out/get excited about in the library, I might try my hand at writing something for my young patrons! Age being nuthin' but a number right Aaliyah? Here I go with another deluge...it's a habit. Anywho, I really dig the idea of Snail Mail pals, and really anyone willing to help a fellow pen-to-paper type to chat with about all things literary. I have 9 email accounts and couldn't tell you the last time I did anything other than hit the delete button. I want to write SF, but at this point really have nothing but ideas and notes in a book. Hello. I'm Rinalda and I've recently *and by recently I mean an odd two days ago* joined this wonderful site with lovely people and infinite forums. And, truth be told, I'm a bit nervous and panicky. I've added a few buddies based on random forum posts I've seen and liked, but I'm not sure how to approach this whole buddy-system. I like coffee, cats, nutella, crisp autumn days, pillows, the smell of books, the smell of rain, ribbons, writing, imagining things, observing people, watching excessive amounts of movies/shows/anime, reading, making handmade jewelry, drawing, laughing until tears come out, going to concerts and festivals... Well, you kind of get the picture. I tend to procrastinate, which is why I've taken on this November challenge. To prove something to myself. To prove that 'if you can dream it, you can do it' (well, except for suddenly developing a mermaid voice and becoming an internationally-acclaimed singer. Not gonna happen.) So if anyone is interested in becoming my active buddy, feel free to do so... I'll be on almost every day, usually during the evenings... And by evenings I mean nights. My timezone is GMT+2:00, but hey, that's what e-mails and snail-mail are for, right? Oh, and my novel (dare I call it that) is some sort of YA fantasy-comedy mash-up.

I don't do much snail-mail, but I'd do e-mail or e-mail via FB as I'm an itinerant missionary and for some reason FB will work when e-mail sometimes doesn't! I'm a strong Christian, and was raised in a strict, almost Mennonite home (perhaps this sums me up best and can give you some idea of my views and what we might--if anything--have in common?). I do, however, stray from my beliefs/upbringing in one area only: I enjoy LOTR! (probably the only books/movies in that genre I'll EVER watch that do not have a strong Christian theme!)

I thought there was an introductions page, but I failed to find it. So I will do that here, since, coincidentally, I think having a writing buddy would be great, too. I go by Kari. This is my first time doing Nanowrimo. I only found out about it two days ago, which means that my stats are horribly skewed. My novel is inspired by Sophie Calle, a conceptual artist who does a lot of stuff relating to surveillance, pushing social boundaries, and general awesomeness. I haven't figured out the genre yet, weighing between mystery and literary fiction. So, hello. And best wishes on your novels.

I would actually love a writing partner(s). This is actually my first year doing this and I'm pretty excited and stoked. Like many other here, though, I'm not just looking for a writing partner but would also prefer people who are actually looking to chat/get to know each other. For me, in terms of getting help and feedback, I'd love to find people who are also looking to write not too heavy/serious novels. Things that, though they may have a darker aspect to it, still has it's more light hearted/humorous aspect because, hell, even though I'm a funny person, writing something to -be- funny is kind of tricky! Hahaha. Also having a healthy dose of nerdiness/nerd interests would also be useful since my story is about super heroes (kind of). About Me: I'm a 24 year old Bostonian. I'm actually an artist/illustrator so doing this writing thing is a bit intense for me. I'm using this as story writing training for a graphic novel that I've set to try and have published by the end of five years. My favorite authors range from C.S. Lewis and Neil Gaiman to Douglas Adams and Piers Anthony. I think the stories that are probably influencing my book the most are Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, Kick Ass, and the Incredibles (got a nice healthy dose of pretty much every genre right in there!). My story in and of itself is heavily influenced by my own life right now. Being a 20 something trying to actually figure out what to -do- with the rest of my life, I felt like that was a pretty good place to start since I think a lot of people can relate to that. Of course I tied in a healthy dose of nerd-fun by using Super Heroes because... well... you should write what you know, right? The title of it is called Super Me. It's got action, romance, twists and turns and hopefully some chuckles!

Hey! I'm also in Boston and just got started on my novel yesterday (late to the party, I know), and I've actually never let anyone really read my stuff before but I'm up for trying out the writing buddy thing if you're interested :) My stories usually do have a bit of a dark-plot-but-still-humorous thing going on, with some fantasy and adventure thrown in for good measure. I'm also a manga fan, which isn't quite the same thing as a graphic novel but, you know, they're kinda similar! I'm also a fan of Piers Anthony's Apprentice Adept trilogy ;) I do have to warn you though, my narrator has a bit of a dirty mouth . . . but if that doesn't bother you, you can shoot me an email at chessapphire1214@aol.com ^^ Also, I'm open to buddying up with other people out there as well, 'cause I guess the more feedback, the better? About me, I'm 19, probably a journalist major (I got forced into choosing rather suddenly last week when my transfer credits jumped me from freshman to junior overnight), and I read mostly fantasy or action/adventure type novels (Matthew Reilly, Diana Wynne Jones, and I've been reading a lot of manga recently including Berserk, Blue Exorcist, and I'm in the middle of Soul Eater now). Hello! This is my first attempt at NaNo-ing and I think some buddies would be nice. I have a couple in real life, but the more the merrier. I am 23 and pretty melloow :) I am a musician and a barista and very into literature, and passing the time of writing with a few words with other people goin' through this thing would be great. I am also shy and busy, so reading through these 14 pages is not an option right now, so message me if you want to chat about life or your novel or why you keep eating pieces of candy every five minutes so you get to stop writing... Also, my book loosely in the genre magical realism, along with parable-esque religious overtones, so if you have done that or are into that sort of thing, it would be awesome to talk. If anyone is still looking for writing buddies this late in the month, I am here for you. I turned 21 last month (Whooo! legal drinking age!) and I am a 'Courtesy Associate' (a.k.a Cart Pusher) at Walmart. The story I am writing is about psychics and ghostlike creatures called 'Hasdes'. The difference between ghosts and hasdes being that ghosts are made from pieces of spirit left behind after death, whereas hasdes are made from the mind, and a person's will to live. Anyway, if you are writing a story that is fantasy or supernatural in nature, and want to chat about plot ideas, I'll be online almost everyday at some point for at least an hour or two. Well this is my first year on NaNo and... yeh, the only thing i did understand was "WRITE UNTIL YOUR BRAIN MELTS" (or u reach 50 k, whichever comes first)... i know it's a bit late for this year, but wouldn't mind some writing buddies, someone to bounce ideas off and stuff. soo info 'bout me: age-21 occupation- piano teacher fav authors- alexandre dumas, jules verne, matthew reilly, chris ryan, alistair maclean genres- generally action/adventure, maybe sci-fi or slightly steampunk. My stories are usually motivated by a moral theme or lesson to be learnt. can't stand fantasy/horror (soz to all those who like it, we each have our pet likes and pet hates :S ). NaNo story this year: title is Eloquence (name of the main character)- it's about a world with three classes of society, and a bio-mech being who was sent to destroy the "top" class. Theme/moral: "The child should live, regardless of the quarrels of the parents" (ie just because one person is hurt abotu what another one did, they shouldn't put judgement out on the whole family including those unrelated.... ohh read Count of Monte Cristo, when the little boy dies and the Count suddenly rethinks his actions, i refer to that in the story >.< ). thanks :)

Just finished my first attemtp NaNo and decided to poke around the forums. Should've done so earlier. Even though NaNo's finished, I'd still love to have friends who write. Finding those in my own age group (I'm 26) seems more of a trial than it ought. I'm an aspiring author (unpublished so far), and my prefered genre is fantasy (though I find historical fiction more interesting to read than fantasy) - that said, I'm always interested in things that are different. I haven't used this forum in a long time, but I noticed it was still coming through my email with replies, so maybe this will get me somewhere. I'm 23, living near Toronto with my girlfriend. I've been writing for years, and completed nano on another account back in 2008. I'm aiming to be a working writer by October, so a writing buddy would def. be awesome right now. I'm into history (several pieces surrounding world war two are stashed on my computer) as well as experiential and first person present style works. My short fiction has been published and I aim to continue on that streak. And hey, if you're into dogs that's cool too. :)

Well, if anyone happens to still be around... I'm 28 and looking for a writing buddy/penpal. I'd like to have someone with similar interests to talk to and share encouragement with. :D I've been writing a YA Southern Gothic novel, but recently started working on a collection of dark futuristic/dystopian short stories to spice things up. Currently I am a little too obsessed with all things kpop. I love me some Super Junior, 2ne1, GD/TOP, B1A4 and...well, a ton more. It would be nice to find a fellow writer, near my same age, who is interested in kpop as well. Other things I love: Vladimir Nabokov, John Green (nerdfighters!), The Hunger Games, Coffee Prince, horror movies, movies in general, Parks and Rec/American Horror Story/House/Community, video games (Silent Hill, Fallout, Bioshock, Resident Evil), board games, and (obviously) reading.

I would love to have some more writing buddies. NaNo is more fun when you have other people who can relate (I've had little luck in getting my friends to attempt it). A little about me: I'm a college sophomore working towards a masters in Social Work and Psychology. Someday I hope to open my own private practice. I really want to be a gender therapist for trans* identified persons. Writing is my passion. I've done NaNo for three years now, and I hope to continue for as long as I can. I'm a graduate student who is currently obsessed with nano related things and is now feeling guilty about pestering her non-Nanoing bf to talk about this kind of stuff. I've got a particular book I've been wanting to use and I feel like I'm ready to start writing it, but I could really use someone to bounce ideas off, discuss options, critique... maybe someone to whine with me when we hit writer's block. Of course I'll repay the favor :) The book I'm wanting to write feels a little like The Time Traveler's Wife (at least in my head). I could do with some buddyness with reference to writingness, I use MSN sometimes but emails would be sufficient also! I'm writing a history-influenced science fiction novel, my first, involving robots, aliens and the dole queue ;) I love history, I'm educated in history (not writing or english!) and I write mainly for the enjoyment of me and several friends. Also, I loved Stargate SG1(double underline SG1!) as a kid (im 25 now) and still do! Terry Pratchett's novels, Old movies(particularily 80's) and science fiction in general. I prefer a buddy who hasn't got one already, don't get greedy now! but I'm not too fussy as long as you share at least some of my interests! Currently reading a book by penrose on AI, Strata by Pratchett and a bunch of random history related books.
