Blogging NaNo

On November first, I will be lowering myself into a specially retrofitted Soviet-era bathysphere deep beneath the San Francisco Bay, where I will be writing for thirty days without distraction from the surface world, or perhaps going mad from isolation and the low-grade claustrophobia from which I already suffer.

I am already pre-blogging about the event at <a href="http://www.sebastianmalloy.com/" rel="nofollow">sebastianmalloy.com</a>, as well as tweeting at <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/SebastianMalloy" rel="nofollow">@sebastianmalloy</a>, so please grab yourself a brandy, pull up a comfortable chair beside the fire, and stop by and say hello.

Are any of you, fellow achievers, blogging or tweeting about your upcoming bout with literary madness? If so, let us know! I for one would love to follow your stories of setbacks and triumph, of tears of frustration and of joy. We are all of a common tribe, my friends. Come sit by the fire and share your tales of glory.

Re: Blogging NaNo

First time I did NaNo, I twittered. Last year, I Facebook'd. This year, I've started my first ever blog.

I've no idea what I'll be blogging, but it's different, so I'm willing to have a go.

You can find my blog on my site at <a href="http://blog.rudderham.co.uk" rel="nofollow">blog.rudderham.co.uk</a>, if it's of interest to anyone.

I've bookmarked yours, Sebastian. (Should I mention now that my MMC is called "Sebastian"? Total coincidence, I assured you!). :)

Let me first say that I have also bookmarked you, because we artists need to support one another in our times of creative frenzy. Secondly, I applaud your use of the name "Sebastian," and as I haven't yet received confirmation of my trademarking of the name from the government, please feel free to use it with my blessing, completely free of a licensing fee.

Good luck in your writing endeavour, and keep us all posted!

Re: Blogging NaNo

LOL

It took me the longest time to figure out his name. Went through quite a number of different ones before finally ending up with "Sebastian" a few years back (my FMC has a number of different names for him!). His surname is the highly unoriginal "Jones" (shamelessly stolen from "Indiana Jones"), but he doesn't use that very often.

Re: Blogging NaNo

This happens more often than you might think, the result of a curse laid upon me by a gypsy fetishist from the old country, New Jersey. As is often the case in situations such as mine, the cure happens to be worse than the disease, and so I have chosen to embrace my paranormally-heightened adorableness, and to live out the remainder of my life as best I can.

Do not weep for me. I have learned to live with my ailment, and refuse to let it hinder me in achieving my goals.

I've been blogging even longer than I've been nanoing. I will be blogging about my creative process at http://warriorgirl.blogspot.com/ but I'm not just doing writing, I"m also going to be blogging about my artwork because I am also participating in art everyday month here http://creativeeveryday.com/art-every-day-month . Call me crazy, but switching back and forth between writing and art actually helps me be creative. I don't know if I will manage to blog every day, I think that WOULD be crazy, but I'm going to try to keep the writing and art up.

I think you have to use the A HREF tags from HTML.

Hi! I'm an over 30 under 40 in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, Earth, Milky Way, who's trying this for the first time after mulling it over for years. I had to wait till all the hair fell from atop of my head so I wouldn't have to endure the plucking and pulling and tearing that comes with this task. I also decided to blog about it for no apparent reason other than to hold myself even more accountable and to maybe get a laugh or two out of my own stupidity. It's a Tumblr account. No reason; it just looked neato.

It's here ------&gt; http://derekmohninger.tumblr.com

I also tweet drunkenly and soberly here ------&gt; http://twitter.com/TotallyDerek

I will be adding all of you into my Google Reader to keep track and send warm fuzzies your way. We're all in this together, and must be each others cattle prod of encouragement. Let's make 50000+ words, shall we?

I was the one who ended up dancing around with the wrappers stuck to my forehead - I got such a sugar high I was buzzing for days afterward. Dude, the hangover was brutal!

I blogged last year during Nano, am crazily committing myself to do so this year. http://elegantlion.blogspot.com/

Should be a piece of cake this year as last year we moved 800 miles, and lived with the parents for a few weeks while we remodeled our "new" house. I also had no desk or table to write on, so I sat on the bed fighting off my Labrador who thought it was her given right to sprawl out on the bed at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Speaking of which, do you know anyone who is missing a high neck charcoal grey international with a sash? Because I'm sure whoever that is must have my ski jacket.

I am both blogging NaNo and blogging about other people blogging NaNo (and model horses and Warcraft and other oddities)… makes my brain hurt some days.

I was planning on having a bunch of posts in queue, but ended up with a bunch of half-finished drafts instead. In theory there will be non-NaNo posts, but at the moment it’s not looking too good (beyond the model horses ‘o course). :P

I’ll hop back up the thread and try to make sure y’all are on my NaNo’ers Link List! :)

So this is the thread where all the cool kids are!
I do have a blog, but haven't written anything during the last year in it.
Motivated blogger right here! [Sarcasm alert.]
Honestly though, I have been all over the place with my posts and before I don't get a clear direction on what it is, I actually want to do with it, I will let it rest.
Checking out some of your blogs will help me with that task. So expect me to stop by in December.

I'm trying to be one of those optimistic folks, helping others through NaNo this yr, so I'm blogging everyday about story elements and trying to give motivation. I called it the ABC 123(4)s of NaNo. Lord knows why i wanted to add a daily blog post when I'm trying to write this novel, but what's done is done. Can't stop now :P

I bet the pretentious snobs from the Andromeda galaxy (Andromedonians?) will call us Milkies.

We'll be all like, "We prefer 'Milky Wayans'"

And they'd stick their noses up at us, and they'll draw out a, "Yeeeeessss, Milky, as you wish." Then they'll go back to their Andromeda cliques and start whispering about us.

Man, those Andromedonians get on my bad side.

Andromedians?

I've actually been naming occupants of planets for my story and it's a bit too much fun.

Re: Blogging NaNo

I'm sneaking in here as I'm not 30 yet but will be in 1 month, so I'm on the verge!

I blog on my author website but the best place for me to link at the moment is my Facebook "Author Page", where I show my blog posts and other bits and pieces going on. I can be "followed" by clicking the "like" button at the top of the page (Facebook's version of follow). But anyone who doesn't use Facebook, there's direct access to my main blog through there and an RSS "follow" button on the blog site itself :)

I tweet too! But I'm really new to it and still not sure I have the hang of it lol! @N_Westgate :)

Who gets time to blog during Nano? I've squeezed in a few posts on the NaNo madness.... and just a little bit of actual LIFE. Remember life? Like chores, cooking dinner, that sort of thing?

Yeah, me neither. But it's OK. My children are grown and my sweet hubs is happy with leftovers. (Thus the conundrum: where will he get the leftovers when I'm hardly cooking at all?) I love the challenge and my guys are all so supportive. Go, Mom!

Here's my most recent NaNo post: http://writinginareddress.blogspot.com/2011/11/nanowrimo-halfway.html

Keep writing!!

NaNo Blog Party!!

Wow, the NaNo bloggers went quiet. Guess we were preoccupied with something this month.

I'm having a little NaNo Blog party today over at http://theaccidentalnovelist.wordpress.com/

Stop by with your NaNo tales, links to things you want to share, and bring something to snack on (see guidelines on what you can bring in the party post).

Congrats to everyone!

Hello again bloggers...I have been reading. I pulled my down thanks to a truly assholeish (yes, it's a word) comment made by some small, terrible person. I change the location and have started up again now that NaNo is finished. It's here: https://closeencounterswithlife.wordpress.com/ if you're interested.
