I saw it on an author's blog last night. I read everything she wrote for years. Eventually I saw the holes in the Pern world and they bothered me enough that I quit reading her work. But she had a marvelous sense of character. I owe her a lot; learned much from her writing. And Killashandra will always be one of my favorite characters ever. Her books meant so much to me, and she is one of the authors that made me want to be a writer. Pern is one of those fictional worlds where if I had the chance to go there, I would without a second thought. I've pulled out Dragonflight from my bookshelves and am re-reading it right now. Her books are just as amazing as they were when I first read them as a teen, or in my twenties, and every time after that (I love re-reading old book friends). Such a lovely woman and great talent. She was a terrific lady and a big inspiration to many of us in the IA writers groups back in the days. Her son is carrying on the legacy.
