I am!!! I think this thread could be rather fabulous, if we could round up some other Latter Day Saints. And, you know, if anyone not of our faith wants to come on and ask us some questions, that would be cool too. So... what should we talk about? ^_^

Well, I have early-morning seminary, so I just make sure I don't stay up too late. --- Which, isn't hard, considering my parents have very specific rules about me writing. 1. Homework gets done first. :P 2. I have to go to bed ON TIME (9:00 PM) every school night. As long as I follow those rules, and whatever else they throw my way, I'm good. But I don't have that busy a schedule.

Hey, I am, too! I'm really excited about NaNo this year. How do your young men/ young women groups feel about your nanoing? My YW think it's cool, but that I'm crazy for doing it. (It doesn't help that I'm homeschooled, too. XD) What do you all think about writing an LDS novel, like Tennis Shoes among the Nephites? Okay, I've asked all my questions. :)

Does Seminary take up more time than normal school? It was never much of an issue for me (I did occasionally write during Seminary... but I wrote during all my classes... and Sacrament meeting... man, I'm a terrible person :P) I'm in Single's Ward (awesome!), and everyone seems to think NaNo's pretty cool. I think I may have talked a few of them into doing it with me ^_^ Last year, I was still in YW's, and they all thought I was crazy and laughed at me when I showed up to activities moaning about my word count. I've thought about writing an LDS novel... but I've never really had an idea for one. I'm focusing right now on writing clean fantasy -- something I feel the world could use more of. I hope to some day write an LDS novel. My favorites that I've read are The Stray by Louise Larson Tolman, and Rules of Engagement by Stephanie Fowers.

My friends are kinda used to me writing, after the last two years, and they all have the same reaction- member or no- Ugh. Here comes another month where everything Alicia talks about has to do with Nanowrimo... :) But they love me.

I think that a bunch of people in my seminary class are just as excited as I am. And yes. They think I am crazy. I have never really thought of writing an LDS novel, but it could be fun. Supposing I could think of an idea...

Haha, I'm LDS! :D And to tell the truth, I've pressured half of the girls in my YW class to join in as well; it wasn't that hard, seeing as most of us were already writers to begin with! :P I didn't think we'd have our own thread already, though. Hahaha~

Hey guys! this is so cool, what a good idea! i wasn't really thinking about juggling all this with the early morning seminary, and since this is my first attempt at NaNoWriMo i am kind of freaking out. i can't wait to see what all of our stories turn out like!

Single's Ward is EPIC!!! I love it, a lot. Though I guess that depends on your ward. Mine's really awesome. I totally get wanting to stay in your home ward, but I would recommend checking out the Single's Ward. 'Cause it's awesome ^_^

I'm planning on writing double words on Saturday so I don't have to write on Sunday. Anyone else not writing on Sunday? I don't think there's anything wrong with writing on Sunday, and I do when it isn't NaNo, but I don't want to be stressing and writing like a crazy person on Sunday, since it's supposed to be a day of rest and everything. I think I wrote on Sunday last year, but this year I've decided to give myself a weekly break -- assuming I can do double-time on Saturday.

I am :) This is my first year juggling NaNo and early morning seminary, but last year I never wrote in the mornings anyways. I refuse to write during seminary and I have recently stopped writing during sacrament meeting so that I can pay attention to the talks. All my friends, YW/YM and non-LDS, pretty much think I'm crazy and then get annoyed with me always wanting to talk plot and characters, but it's all worth it in the end. I have thought of doing a novel like Tennis Shoes, but the idea never really stuck in my head. I actually used last year's NaNo to complete a Personal Progress Project. Anyone else ever done that?

I had the funniest thing happen today in mutual. It's day one and I'm in total NaNo mood as I go to evening of excellence. the first counselor in the bishopric is there, and I start talking about NaNoWriMo. He asks: "Oh, is that the thing where you write 10,000 words through the month of November? My work asked us to do that once." Me: "Actually, it's 50,000." Him: "Seriously?!" So then I was all happy and feeling awesome. The more people I tell, the more obligated I feel to winning this thing! I'm in a great mood, with my 2k for day 1.

I'm pretty much just planning on writing whenever I can, and finishing so that me and my best friend get our amazing prize @ the end that we set for ourselves :D My friends totally think that i'm crazy, but they get me so it's ok(:

Yeah I'm having a hard time deciding! I was recently called to be the 12-13 year old Sunday School teacher in my home ward, and I love it so much! Another reason I don't want to go to Single's ward is because my older brother is in that ward, and well, we don't really get along. I think I'll go to a couple of their activities before I make any real decision :)

I just got a rejection letter from Deseret Book, and oddly enough I wasn't in the least bit surprised or even upset about it. I was actually feeling pretty giddy just to get another rejection letter.

I have a "rejection file" to keep all my letters in. It's kind of fun to watch them pile up... Rejection letters don’t make me feel like a failure at all. It’s kind of like another stepping stone leading up to another success if you know what I mean.

Hey fellow LDS writers! Why did I never see this thread before?! I'll mention here that I am extremely sad that I leave YW in June(I'm 17 right now)....but I love my LDS family. And LDS people. We have so much fun. I'm going to try and convince my friend to go with me to LDS prom instead of school prom if they have it again this year, event though she isn't LDS. I think both of us would have way more fun there. I didn't go last year, and regretted it. And for now, i get off the computer and try not to focus on the fact I have yet to get a reply from BYU-I admissions and the fact that seminary was randomly cancelled tomorrow and I don't know why...(although the latter means I don't have to wake up at 4 am tomorrow.)

We had -35 windchill, and seminary wasn't cancelled in MN... Yeah. We love snow. I hate driving in it though. I thought I was going to hit at least three cars yesterday after it snowed all day.

Mine was just cancelled because our teacher's father in law died. I live in southern Arizona. It was nearly a national disaster last year when the temperature went below 30. So yeah, no snow cancellations here. Last time it snowed was about 4 years ago. We got like a centimeter of snow, and hey shut down schools and public transport. I laughed and had a snowball fight with the other kids from my ward that lived across the street, and built a 1 foot snowman on their car.

No, but I thought about doing so for a personal progress project, but I don't know what I would write about. Instead, I decided to go with painting pictures of the way the Lord touches people's lives. Haven't started yet though...some of my ideas are a little girl praying on her knees, and two missionaries having a discussion with an image of the Lord or a white dove in between them. I would love to come up with a story to submit though. I remember getting new Era in the mail a while back. I would sit and read everything in them.

I thought about sending in artwork, but if you look at their illustrators guidelines, it requires you to contact them for information on how to send them your portfolio. Luckily the writer's guidelines aren't so vague.

My good friend got me addicted to them. The other senior girl in my seminary class is also reading them, and got mad at me because she needed book 3, and I borrowed that one from my friend. <3
