I know there are a few threads like this in the All-Ages Forum, but I thought I'd go ahead and post this here for people who are looking for penpals in their own age group. I've come to love pen-palling, and have met some really awesome people on here. But I'm always looking for more, so here's a little bit about me. For now, you can call me Beh, a nickname given to me by one of my very first penpals. I'm seventeen and a senior in high school; I'll be graduating in December. I'm a shy, geeky girl. I like reading, writing, anime, manga, snail mailing, etc. I'm a little bit cynical about certain things (I don't believe in teenage relationships, so if you're looking for someone to brag about your non-existent boyfriend/girlfriend to, I'm not the one.) but I'm trying to be more open-minded. I'm not religious, but I like to learn about religions. I want to learn about other cultures and languages too, so if you're from another country that's awesome. There's probably a lot more I could say, but if I wrote it all now, what would we have to talk about later? Anyway, personally I'm only looking for SNAIL MAIL penpals. I never check my email. Oh good, I'm glad this thread's back. I'm Aaron. I'm 19 and a sophomore at Brown University, currently studying computer science. I'm into game design (started writing videogame dialogue, haha), music (play cello, compose, hoard) and some other miscellaneous Japanese things (language, visual novels, Touhou). Oh, and FIRST robotics if anyone's heard of that. My favorite author's Vonnegut and some of my favorite books would have to be... Breakfast of Champions, Shadow of the Wind, Wise Blood, Slaughterhouse Five, and Catch-22. (It's hard to only pick a handful...) I write mainstream stuff, also short stories, fantasy, and VN scripts. I'm probably a better editor than writer and I'd love to help revise any writing you'd care to show off...! Well, anyway, if any of that sounds interesting, don't hesitate to drop me a nanomail. I'd prefer email as mailbox/stamps and everything is kind of weird to use on campus, but it could work. I usually get back to people within a a day or two and carry on conversations about schools, authors, games, philosophy, history, internet, anything and everything. Yay pen pals! Because I don't have enough already... I just love writing letters. My name is Chelsea, I'm 19 and I live in Oregon. I currently work as a waitress/hostess at a Resort near my house, and I properly love it, despite hating all the customers that come through the door. I'm not going to school right now, mostly because I can't afford it and I'm still trying to decide what to do with my life. I love music (I was in choir from 4th grade to my freshman year in college) and dancing and collecting old, pretty things. I love animals, I'm a vegetarian (those two things aren't really related, btw). I obviously like writing, since this is my third year doing NaNo and hopefully my second year winning. I kind of like to ramble, so if you don't mind that, drop me a nanomail. I'd prefer a snail mail pen pal, since getting mail is one of my favorite things ever. However, if you think we'd be best friends or soul mates or something I am willing to email people :P And a pen pal from another country would be the most fantastic thing ever, basically. Awesome idea! I'm Hannah, a seventeen-year-old from Toronto. I love all things YA lit (I could go on all day about how awesome Scott Westerfeld, John Green, Libba Bray, Holly Black, etc are). I'm also a big fan of manga and anime, my top three favourites being Death Note, Black Butler and Full Metal Alchemist. I love writing fan fiction, and reading really good ones. I know English and Spanish, but I want to learn French, Korean, Japanese, Russian, Arabic, Manderin, Italian, German.... you get the idea. My list of languages is pretty long, lol. -My favorite books inlude Harry Potter and anything by Ally Carter. -I've done NaNo since '08, but I only won that year. I like history, politics and religion, but I'm not religious and I don't force my opinions on people. I've left school and am hoping to join the Army next year. This is my 3rd year doing NaNo and hopefully my 3rd win. I like animals, a lot, and I ride horses :D I'd love to geek out with people. Pen pals! They're sort of a hobby of mine but all of mine stopped writing back recently. Well, they've fizzled out over the last year, more like. So I'll add my name to this list and hope for the best. I'm 17 and a total otaku. But don't let that turn you off, because I won't bombard you with anime geekiness unless you're into it too. You'll a little, for sure. And if you are otaku, don't think that's all I'll write about. As far as my otaku self goes, I write fanfiction, cosplay, go to coms, do cosplay skits, collect merchandise, and Caramell and J-pop are what I love to listen to. (Evanescence, Trading Yesterday, and some others as well.) My top anime/manga are Fruits Basket, Black Butler, Lovely Complex, Death Note, and St. Dragon Girl. I'm Catholic (but don't care if you are and won't shove my faith down your throat), homeschooled senior, and play flute in marching, pep, and concert band. I love to travel and want to see Japan and Europe especcially, but I have yet to leave the borders of America. I also knit, and try my best at drawing although i have problems the minute I draw below the neck. In college I will be majoring in Japanese and studying abroad. I can't wait to do this, but first I have to graduate high school. The epic thing about the university I'm looking into is that there's a house that the Japanese majors only can live in if they choose! How cool would that be? Speaking whenever you're at home and having people to practice with all the time. Oh, and my novel this year is a Fruits Basket fanfiction that's Akito, Yuki, and Tohru oriented. Angsty romance idea. Hello! My name's Koen, male, I'm 15 years old attempting Nano for the first time though i signed up in 09 I never got around to actually start and do it. I live in the Netherlands and I have a twin. Let's see I like tons of things. I'm currently learning to start the piano, I love listening to music, reading and writing, drawing sometimes. I cannot stand maths or physics, love biology and chemistry. I play Tennis and Field hockey. I am insanely curious, when I read about something I have to know what it is so I'll research it ;) Bit more depth, music first. I like lots of artist, Adele, coldplay, Glennis Grace, Maroon 5, Cee Lo green, Anouk, David guetta, Lana del Rey are a few of them but many more and also some artist where I just like some songs. I try to pretend that I can draw when in Reality I can only kind of copy things I can visually see (not including heads). I hover between atheist and Agnostic because sometimes I feel that there is something out there and at other times I'm like No way, never ever. I am lost as to what I want to be in the future and have been for quite a while but I'll figure something out. I have participated in 3 exchanges already and made numerous trips to other countries, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, USA, Canada and other European countries. I am in marching band also! I play tuba on the normal season, but I am a field commander this year. I plan to major in international relations. We have quite a bit in common. I used to be obsessed with manga and anime (Saiyuki is my favorite) but I have very little time to read or really invest myself in any long-term commitment like reading a manga series. I have read Inuyasha all the way through, and I read some of Fruits Basket. I love Ouran High School Host Club and Chobits.

I'm going to add myself in here. At the moment, e-mail would be much easier for me, although I might be willing to have a try with snail-mail (in which case, my address will be changing every year for the next four years, if we can keep up the writing for that long). Now, the list: -I'm Max -I'm 19 (last year as a teen. Kind of scary to think of, that...) -I'm English -I'm in my first year at university, studying maths. -Everything on this list so far has started with "I'm". Except this, obviously. I'll try not to do that any more. -Most of the stuff I read and write is either fantasy or sci-fi. That's in about equal amounts for reading, but writing is rather skewed towards fantasy. -Doctor Who may be the greatest thing on TV. Actually, change the "may be" for "is". -Anime is awesome. Currently watching Wolf's Rain, Gundam 00, The World Only God Knows, To Aru Majutsu No Index, Honey and Clover and Puella Magi Madoka Magica with my uni's Anime Society. Episode 4 of each is tomorrow (25th October) -Cowboy Bebop is probably my favourite anime series ever. -This year's Nano is a contemporary fantasy set in a world I've been planning for about a year and a half. -I have a trilby. It is awesome. -Frank Turner is brilliant. I'm listening to his stuff whilst writing this. Balthazar, Impresario at the moment. Love that song. -This list is getting fairly long, but I can't help but think there's something I'm missing from it. -Maybe this: I'm a Secular Humanist, a sceptic and a lot of other things like that. -That doesn't count as starting a point with "I'm". -This should do, I think. If you want to talk, PM me and we can go from there. Hopefully, I should be able to reply quickly, but don't be offended if it takes me a few days. I'm kind of busy a lot of the time. Hi, I'm Kira. I've been alive for 16 years now, and I study at a Performing Arts High School. I'm very excited about this, and generally excited by anything else that falls into the "cute" or "cozy" categories. I learned to play guitar when I was twelve from this guy named Ronnie who came over to fix my parents' computer. I like quilts. But that's probably because I'm always freezing cold. I LOVE Drama. I love the subject so much, I sometimes feel like I should just roll the windows down in the classroom and scream "I LOVE THIS SUBJECT!" loudly out the windows. That wouldn't be weird, right? Every time I try and wink at someone, I mess it up and end up scaring people. I'm a Pisces. I think that means I'm always looking for something new. It also means I have a summer-themed birthday party every year. I love bright colors and things that make reality seem more whimsical than it is. I have a collection of ribbons and headbands, and I love them all the same. I over-think and over-plan and over-organize. I've been like this since I was a baby, before I was gigantically tall and over-talkative. Be my pen pal? I'm from Australia, if that makes me any more interesting. (Although, I do like Darker Than Black.) Anyway, I'm a big fan of reading and writing. And I absolutely love getting letters in the mail. I'm an adventurous, intelligent, modest-ish girl who often comes across as sarcastic, but when you get to know me, I'm really a very nice, funny person. That's really all I can think of...so yeah!

This is a great idea. So, here goes. I'd prefer an email pen-pal, but open to snail mail. I'm just a little worrying when it comes giving out information over the internet. I'm Alexandra, or Lexi. I'm fifteen and I love music and art, though I'm not great at creating either. I play guitar, not well but passably. Art-wise: I can't draw anything that's alive. For some reason, the joints never turn out right. I speak both English and Spanish fluently. I learned them pretty much at the same time when I was a kid, so sometime they get a bit mixed up in my head and one comes out weird. :P My big passion in life is languages -- I'm a language nerd, which is a weird but very specific kind of nerd to be. They just fascinate me. Am mildly into anime. I love Death Note, Ouran and Black Butler, and don't mind a few others. I'm not one to get all obsessed about it, but it's fun. Love to read and write, and I've been doing both obsessively for as long as I can remember. I'm an actress, too. I've been doing that for at least nine years, now. Just this summer I played Viola in a production of Twelfth Night. That's all I can think of the moment.

Ooh, this looks like fun! My name's Meera, I'm nineteen years old and I live in Australia. I've basically just finished my first year of university studying economics and arts. I have a thing for supremely long books, but thanks to uni, I end up reading them really slowly. I watch way too much television, but I put that down to having extremely long holidays: Doctor Who, Glee, Big Bang Theory, Gossip Girl, Skins. This is my third attempt at NaNo - fingers crossed that third time's the charm! Harry Potter is my past, my present and my future. I'm a huge Starkid fan, all of their musicals and whatnot. If all goes well academically, I'm planning on studying at Harvard in about 2016. Getting letters in the post is alway thrilling for me. Anybody keen on pen-palling? :)

I'm looking for Penpals. I am 18 years old, and if anyone wants to be a Penpal, please be around that age because I like to talk about similar interests and events that we have in common. Some books I read: "The Long Walk" by S.K., and tons of other Stephen King novels. "The Kite Runner" (not an all time fav, but well written, "The Last Lecture" (great book out of nowhere), "Atlas Shrugged" and "Fountainhead" (generally the same thing, isn't it? Fun reading, but don't assume anything about my opinions. Right now I'm reading "The Genealogy of Morals" by Nietzche and then I'll move onto "Ecce Homo". I don't really like either of these books, they're hard to read, but I do like a challenge. If you read any of these books, particularly the last few (although S.K. lovers PLEASE PLEASE PM o.o) I live in New York City and am a college student. I'd love to talk about a great many topics about pretty much anything. Also I curse regularly, that's probably worth mentioning. I'm also pretty funny, but you can be the judge of that. Hello! I’m May, and no I was not born in the month of May! I live in the U.S. I’m seventeen year old girl, just in case you didn’t get that by my name. :P I love getting snail mail; I also love getting postcards from all over the world. I read ten tons of manga when I have the time, and watch anima though I’ve been to busy lately to watch much. My favorite music is Japanese, An café, Gackt, Versailles, the Gazette and the list goes on and on. Even though I am American (and have no Asian in my blood) I pretty much only listen to Japanese music, though I do love classical music, (I get that from my grandfather). I have also gotten into some Korean music, SHINee, Beast, and FT Islands are the ones I’ve listen to. I’m a Christian, but I won’t shove my religion down your throat so you don’t need to be one. In fact I love learning about other religions and cultures. I am learning Japanese and want to learn Korean, Russian, and German. I am also learning how to play the guitar and want to learn how to play the piano and violin. I love reading, my favorite authors are; Patrick Rothfuss, Brom, J.R.R Tolkien, and the list for my reading books goes on and on. I like everything, adventure, fantasy, Horror, Mystery, some romance but not a lot, and everything else. Of course I love to write and hope to be an author one day. I’m home schooled, have been since third grade. Shy around new people but open up over time and become really sarcastic and talkative. I’m a bit of a tomboy. I love biking, baseball, basketball, soccer…okay I love playing sports! Though I’m not on any teams and don’t know half the rules for most of them. And this is my second year doing Nano. I've always wanted a penpal but have never actually gotten around to getting one [: So here goes nothing. I'm 15 years old, but I turn 16 next month. I'm a sophomore. I love roleplaying and watching horror movies as well as comedies. My head is always in the gutter, but I can be serious sometimes. I read in most of my spare time and try not to drink pop because it's very unhealthy. I rarely watch TV. I have a terrible habit of procrastinating on my homework (which I seriously need to work on). I've been trying to cut back on my cussing and trying to quit smoking cigarettes (I know, horrible habit I should have never started up on!). When I graduate from high school, I want to join the Air Force. I've discovered that listening to music (bands including Three Days Grace, Black Veil Brides, Nickelback, Falling In Reverse, Escape The Fate, Her Bright Skies, Abused Romance, Green Day, and others) helps me concentrate while writing my novel. I live in Michigan (yup, the mitten shaped state). I'm also agnostic. One more thing. I would definitely prefer e-mail because it's so much easier on me [: Message me if you're interested!

Every year I attend Anime Central/ACen in Rosemont, IL and am a big fan of the Japanese Culture. What else..what else...OH! I'm a major writer (As if you couldn't tell) and I draw. Constantly though, I seem to be singing a tune (have been in choir since seventh grade and am now going to be a freshman in college soon).My favorite things to sing are those from: Disney, OSTs, Musicals, and anything in a foreign language. I speak German, since I took four or so years of it (I consider it five since I took a mini refresher course), and I can pass pretty well in a conversation. Oh, by the way, I suppose you should know I'm nineteen years old.. I am also an avid-RPGer. Considering I love anime, some of my favorites are: Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh (Original and GX), Beyblade, Trigun, Fruits Basket, Code Lyoko, FullMetal Alchemist, RomeoxJuliet...and the list goes on a bit. Hey there, my names Kate. I'm 16 and I'm from Manchester, England. I'll be honest, I'm not very good at writing about myself. That could be one of the reasons I enjoy writing, because it's (normally) about someone else. Let's see. I'm fairly shy at first, but I tend to become more confident as I get to know people. I love Harry Potter and I'm a Badger til the end! I am also a proud Whovian (10 was my favourite) and a nerdfighter, but I didn't know until recently. I have watched all 800-odd of the vlogbrother's videos and would be quite happy to compete with you in a peep-eating contest (if and when the Uk decide to sell them) My GCSE results say I can speak French and Spanish (and apparently primary school level Mandarin, though I really only know the one phrase, and it isn't very helpful :P) but I don't think anyone wants to test my skills in them, unless you want a rather confused answer (: I love tap dancing. I've been doing it since I was about 4. People have to tell me to stop tapping my feet it happens quite a lot). Also, I enjoy singing but preferably as part of a group. I have joined the choir at my college (the thing we do for 2 years between high school and uni) and we are doing a performance next Wednesday! I'm not that great with technology. I think I would go so far as to say that most technology hates me (just ask the gremlin in my phone) I'm open to most kinds of music. What I listen to changes depending on the day, and I will listen to any suggestions you give me (except Jenna Rose, no one should have to endure that song for much longer than 30 seconds) I'm up for snail mail, but I would prefer chatting over the good old internet, mainly because of the quick replies and there is little chance of the posties misplacing letters. I can talk quite a lot if it comes to one-on-one talk, but I'm absolutely dreadful when it comes to speaking to more than five people. Especially if they're strangers. This NaNo, though, I'm trying science fiction, which I don't know much about and I don't know why I did it in the first place. Again, perhaps I'm just curious. I love Manga, but I rarely watch Anime. I prefer books to TV. I was an avid gamer before, until I came to Australia and had to leave all my games behind. I've wanted a penpal, yet everyone's just interested in email that I've contacted, so I've never really had one. Some info on me: -My name's Rachel, though I'm also called Quill, I'll answer to both. -I'm 17, and I live on the west coast of the US, in Oregon specifically. Few hours south of Portland, actually -I love musicals of all sorts and varieties. My favorites are Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Les Miserables and Lion King. -I happen to like Dr. Who and Torchwood as well, though I've only just started to watch Torchwood...It's pretty amazing though -Anime is amazing, though I tend to read manga more often than watch anime. I don't watch much TV but what I do watch is: Glee (only because of Damian!), Bones, Merlin, Once Upon a Time, Grim, and... Sometimes I catch an episode of New Girl, but I don't follow it... :D I love to read and write (obviously) and I like reading fiction and non-fiction. Harry Potter, Richelle Mead, Jane Austen, I recently became a The Great Gastby fan, and I'm currently reading a non-fiction about Forensic Anthropology. :D I also love Fullmetal Alchemist, but am catious about other anime/manga because I'm not the type to just pick something up and get it... :D I like various musics, there's no point in talking about it because it changes daily, but... I like Science and English in school, I also like math, but only sometimes... :D I'm Catholic, but obessed with other religions... :D And I'm friendly but very socially awkward. I like Grim, but Grim is more of an Angel-rip-off, which irritates me, and OUaT has better characters and storyline. And, they made Snow awesome, which gives them lots of points. Hey! I browsed through here a bit and decided I really needed to join in the madness :D I'm Jenna, also known as NotAlice, sometimes just Alice, and through my own mistake, sometimes called 'Anything'. I'm 17 from north east England - Geordie accent all the way, though not as bad as some. I won NaNo in 2009, didn't do it last year, and doing it this year for CAS. Which leads nicely onto: I'm an IB student studying English, Maths Studies, History, German, Art,and Biology. NaNo has been madness enough to make me drop from Standard Maths to studies for the less hours, and to completely drop Physics. I'm currently listening to the voices of Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess blasting into my ears and melting in a puddle at the amazingness of the Ramin. You MUST pm me if you love that guy as much as me!!!! I'm obsessed with musicals; Les Miserable, Phantom of the Opera, Love Never Dies, and a few others. I had a complete music change around a while ago and my ipod is now full of the catagories 'soundtrack, classical, and jazz.' I'm tempted to buy tickets to see Katherine Jenkins but I'm more likely to save money to go see Les Mis with Ramin and Hadley. RAMIN AND HADLEY!!! *dies* I stood in the cold for 3 hours at the xmas lights turn on this year because Joe McElderry was turning them on and all I wanted was to hear him sing because I love his Classics album. I tend to ramble on a bit and can talk for hours about music/musicals. I would love to have a penpal! I am LuLiLa, I am a girl and I'm turning 14 this month. I absolutely love writing (I wouldn't be on this site if I didn't) and I especially love writing from a ghost's point of view! My favorite stories are ghost stories and ones about corrupt futures (these are the only types of stories I read and write). My NaNo is a sci-fi ghost story in which the MC dies in the first chapter and the majority of the rest of the story is told from the point of view of his ghost. My NaNo may be a bit creepy and gory at some points so readers might want to be a bit cautious before reading it. Other interests I have outside of writing include: dogs, vocaloid music and robotics (especially Sony aibos), of course you can already tell most of this about me from looking at my username, avatar image and NaNo but whatever XD. I'm Madelaine, and I know I'm really, really late to the party (it looks like this thread was started over 3 months ago...), but I hope someone is still up for pen-pal-ing! :) -My (current) obsessions are Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, and anything Star Wars/Indiana Jones/Harrison Ford related. I also love Doctor Who and Torchwood. -I'm really kind of 'bookish'; I want to learn a ton of different languages, and I like reading (some) textbooks. -I love Egypt. -I'm a freshman in (online) high school. -Other things I love are dancing, music, writing, cats, Star Trek, Psychology, Tumblr, and candy. I feel like I've posted something on here, but I forget. I'm 15 and a half (well.... closer to 16, which I'll be in a few months). I either talk a lot or almost never depending on how awkward I'm feeling and how well I bond with the person I'm talking to. (My teachers all think I'm 'quiet', my close friends can never get me to shut up.) So.... about me: -I'm Jewish, though I'm not very religious and I'm more of an agnostic. -Yes, I speak Hebrew. It's my second language. -Writing is my passion, though I'm better at writing in script format than paragraph format (which I discovered during my first Screnzy last year) -I love to read, my favorite books are Harry Potter, the Inheritance Cycle (Eragon, for those not familiar), Sherlock Holmes, the Hunger Games, 1984 (and anything by George Orwell), The Name of the Wind, and generally anything sci-fi or fantasy. -Anime/Manga. Is. My. Love. I've really only seen/read the mainstream stuff (FMA, Hetalia, Deathnote, etc), but I still enjoy it. -I've seen AVPM and AVPS, and I make references to it a lot. -Same goes for Dr. Horrible and mythology. -I like to act, and I have been known to quote plays or lines of books at people. My friend and I have had wars like this many times (admitted... she won...) -I love role-playing to develop characters. I find that it really helps, and I do it with a few of my friends who write. -I am a nerd. And proud of it. Oh, right.... I'm a sophomore. I should probably add that in. But I don't care what gender you are. -Technically not enrolled in school this year. -Love acting. -My favorite books include The Forgotten Realms Saga, The Lies of Locke Lamora, and the Beka Cooper Trilogy. Anything adventure/sci-fi/historical/fantasy, really. -Anime/manga is where a lot of my internet time goes. -I cosplay. Hey ^_^ I would love a pen pal ;D I'm Emma, and I'm almost 16. I live in Ky. Last year was my first year of NaNoWriMo, and I was really excited that I won. I love to write (If I didn't, I don't think I would have made it through November.) and read, draw, climb trees, and... I'm basically willing to try anything. I love music. No, that's not right. I BREATHE music. I'm not too good at singing, but I like to try. My current favorite band is My Chemical Romance. I am a Christian, but I don't try to push anyone. I respect different beliefs- as long as what you believe makes you happy. My favorite book series is The Chaos Walking trilogy, but the Hunger Games are a close second. I write a lot of poetry, (most of which fails) and I have finished two books. (First drafts only) So.. yeah. I love snail mail, so this is perfect for me :3

I'd love to be your pen pal. ^_^ I'm (as far as random peoples on the internet are concerned) Lewis, I turned 15 recently, and I'm in Missouri. I did NaNoWriMo in 2010 and 2011, and it was a lot of fun each year. And I got coffee the second time 8D Writing, reading, and music are among the things I like most… But breathing beats them unless I have three seconds to live. :D My Chemical Romance is my favourite band, too. Though old pop is also awesome. ^_^ I'm agnostic, and as long as someone's beliefs don't involve sacrificing me, it's probably fine with me. If not, I can run screaming out of the room. XD Chaos Walking Trilogy = win. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is one of my favourites, too. I'd like to think my handwriting is readable, if I'm not in a rush. It'd be fun. ^_^

I love older music and I can't stand the computer made sounds of today. My favorite author is Stephen King. I also love sharing my opinion on any topic. I have been writing for all of my life and cannot imagine what I would do without a sheet of paper and a pen. I write historical fantasy.
