I love this forum! We're studying Shakespeare in school, and at the moment I'm the only one making any effort in the class. People, even if you don't like Shakespeare HE STILL CONTRIBUTES TO YOUR MARKS. But no. People can't seem to understand that.

And yes, as a reward for finishing NaNoWriMo my Mum has agreed to take me to the first Shakespeare play that will be on show in December OR a showing of A Christmas Carol. I can't wait! Enough about me... How are the rest of your NaNos going, fellow Shakespeare nerds?

I think I count as a Shakespeare nerd since I memorized the whole To Be or Not to Be speech and since I own 4 of the books which I got from a library book sale for 50 cents.

Shakespeare = LOVE!!!

Guys, my name is Kathryn (don't ask about the whole "BriLexen" thing), and I was named after Katherine from Taming of the Shrew! I plan on naming a daughter Beatrice for the heroine of Much Ado About Nothing (because Much Ado About Nothing is happiness ^_^)

I have performed as Queen Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Duchess of York in the "wailing women" scene from Richard III, and both Lady Macduff and Lady Macbeth in Macbeth. I'd say Lady Macbeth is probably my favorite roll I've ever played, though Queen Titania was a lot of fun.
Dream rolls are: Katherine (obviously, I can't believe I've never played her!), Beatrice (also kind of obvious), and Maria from Twelfth Night. Oh, and I would LOVE to play Witch 2 in Macbeth.

What about you guys?

Like to nominate my dad for this one :V As such I got dragged along for a lot of Shakespeare stuff.

I'm not an actor at all, but my brother is, and he did a lot of Shakespeare for a while until he got into high school and became too busy.

I think my claim to Shakespeare nerdfame here is that I've seen Romeo and Juliet. At the Globe. In London.

Yes, you can touch me, no, it doesn't rub off.

**clings to you^^**

I looooooove Romeo and Juliet- we just finished it in class and its just perfection! I would love to see it performed and at the globe is just asdkjhakfjhsdf
I've seen quite a few plays performed (thank you papa), my favourite was seeing David Tennant in Hamlet in Stratford. He was just mindblowingly amazing :D

I'm speechless with jealousy right now. Despite my amazing devotion to Shakespeare, I think I might have an even deeper obsession with Doctor Who. I'll agree wholeheartedly that David Tennant's Hamlet is absolutely amazing but it have seen it live, in person... I think my head would've exploded from pure amazement.

Omg you guys! I adore shakespeare!
And I'm actually heading to a production of Julius Caesar AS I TYPE.
I was Titania just a few weeks ago in midsummer for school, and I'm Cassius in caesar. Yes, I'm a girl playing Cassius.

I love most of Shakespeare's plays! I'm not really an actress, but I memorized Benedick's monologue from Much Ado About Nothing, the "I do much wonder" one. And yes, I embarrassed I love Much Ado so much since it's essentially a chick flick, but I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

I also love the way Caesar dies. Everyone I know forgets his last line, which kills me because I love it so much. Everyone knows "Et tu, Brute?" but they forget the "then fall Caesar". I just love that so much!

And I've seen Othello, Taming of the Shrew, As You Like It, A Comedy of Errors, King Henry V, and The Tempest at the Blackfriar's Theatre in Staunton, VA. They perform the plays the way Shakespeare would have, with the lights on in the audience. There are even seats on stage you can sit on! And I totally have. I get to see them perform again in December and once more in January. I'm so so excited! Although I am bummed that I'm missing Hamlet. That's one of the plays that's much better to see performed than read.

Never been in a Shakespeare play, but I love them. My goal is to finish reading all of them before June :) I've got his complete works in one marvelous book and I go to a Shakespeare festival in my city every summer. I've seen them do Merchant of Venice, Othello, Much Ado About Nothing, and A Comedy of Errors. This year they're doing Macbeth and Taming of the Shrew. The former is my favourite and I can't stop thinking about it even though it's quite a long time from now.

I'm also planning on going to school in the UK for a year and I'm determined to go to the Globe while I'm there and get as much of a Shakespeare fix as I can :)

I was Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream, I teched Twelfth Night, I've read countless plays, and I have the full "To Be or Not To Be" monologue memorized and I recite it surprisingly often. Am I a Shakespeare nerd? You tell me.

Eeep!!

I had a goal of reading all of his plays in one year, but since I've started college, that dream has gone down the drain. I got half way before I had to stop though.

I'm no actor, but I simply love reading and seeing his plays. I've seen: Hamlet, Cymbeline, The Merry Wives of Windsor, The Comedy of Errors, Macbeth, and A Midsummer Night's Dream (which I'm probably going to see again this weekend.)

Aaannnddd, I just watched the Anthony Hopkins version of Titus last night. :D Amazing.

WOOO! Shakespeare! My Nano is all about a girl who loves drama and they even get to do a few scenes from Twelfth Night! I've been pouring over my script like crazy, simplifying verses. :)

I'm writing sci-fi and I named half my planets after Shakespearean characters.

I've performed in Winter's Tale, As You Like It, Midsummer Night's Dream (twice), Twelfth Night, Macbeth, All's Well That Ends Well, Merchant of Venice, and The Tempest. I've seen Much Ado About Nothing, Henry IV (both parts), Othello, Love's Labors Lost, Merry Wives of Windsor, King Lear, Richard III, Hamlet, Measure for Measure, Julius Caesar, and Romeo and Juliet. I've read King John, Titus Andronicus, Taming of the Shrew, Richard II, and Henry V.

Twenty-four down, twelve to go.

I get to memorize another monologue for my drama class! It shouldn't excite me that much, but it does. I really want to perform the seven stages of men (Jaques, As You Like It), but I don't know if my drama teacher will let me perform one as well known as that. Which is sad because my other favorites are "To be or not to be" and "Friends, Romans, Countrymen".

Most kids at my school hate Shakespeare, but I don't understand it. Best class I ever took.

OH MY GOODNESS. I would love to reply to everyone in long details, but I'd take way too long. It's so great to have more Shakespeare nerds here!
@luvinpadfoot: We just started Shakespeare in school this year. I didn't expect it, because the students are mostly of the we-hate-English type (I live in Africa) so I was absolutely delighted. Turns out I'm one of few who actually makes an effort :|

@Phantom30127: I think you are :P

@Spaghetti7: DAVID TENNANT AND SHAKESPEARE. I think the two extremes of wonderfulness just collided. I WANT TO SEE THAT.

And @moonlight_girl13 and @Artaxiad Prescott: You have no IDEA how jealous I am right now.

I don't know if I've replied to this thread earlier, but I'm a huuuuuuge fan of Shakespeare, and his works are great for wordpadding :) So far I've quoted Sonnet 18, and lots of random insults in my NaNo!

Stay strong, and happy writing
Luna

I LOVE Shakespeare. I own all the plays, and I've acted in two of them, and done two other scenes for Drama class at school.
I did a Juliet part for Drama class last year. (It was the scene when Juliet is with the Friar and threatens to kill herself).
I also did a pair assessment for Drama this year, with one of my friends. She was Petruchio and I was Kate. (It was really great. Taming of the Shrew is one of my favourite plays. :) )
I also had a couple of parts in The Taming of the Shrew last year, and a couple of parts in A Midsummer Night's Dream this year. It was awesome.

I'm going to see a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream tonight actually! I'm finding it rather ironic that I found this thread today...
